By the end of this book, I felt disgusted, pissed off, used, & thoroughly abused. This book cemented itself in my top 10 list of most hated books. If you don't want spoilers, stop after the preview.

• Male Mc you will hate.
• Female Mc you will not have an ounce of respect or empathy toward.
• Fluff that takes up 50%.
• A romance that's impossible to root for because the MC spends 90% obsessively, adamantly in love with another woman that the female MC doesn't have a chance in hell a

Lucy Score seems to have forgotten how not to write beautiful, heart-rending stories. Too many feels, Score, just too much. Dial it down next time cos nobody likes a perfectionist! Gaaahhh.

Overall Opinion: This was a good small town romance. I really liked our h. She is probably one of the strongest and likeable h I've read in a while. I did struggle with her accepting less than the best at times because she was so accustomed to getting the short end of the stick, but I still really liked her. I think the main reason for my lower rating was that I felt like I needed a little more from the H at the end to make up for some of the stupid things he did towards the end. I was

Can't stop reading her books. What's next? *lol*

Well, this one... Hmm, I read the reviews of my friends, I knew all triggers, but I still decided to give it a try.

This book was full of contradictions for me.

Very likable and strong heroine as a person and friend, and at the same time not strong enough (but definitely wise) in relationship. I liked her a lot. I didn't support all her decisions and some of her actions annoyed me, I even was mad at her; bu

PRETEND YOU'RE MINE was one of those books that took me completely by surprise. I picked it up as part of the Kindle Unlimited trial, intrigued by the blurb. What I got was a engaging, funny and emotional read with characters I just couldn't step away from. Harper was one of those heroine's you wish was your best friend. She was so down to earth and lovable, even when you were completely jealous of who she got to go to bed with every night. Then there was Luke. A military man drench

This is a book I partly loved and partly hated! So I can only give it 3 out of 2,5.

PLUS sides for me:

- A heroine that is impossible not to like, adorable side characters and very cute dogs. I loved them all.

Our heroine Harper is a little too optimistic and too cheerful, making you feel she can't be real at all. She is too good to be true. And this goodness in her sometimes causes her to be easily hurt by others. Although I normally dislike characters who remind me of Pollyanna, Harper’s action

This one is so hard for me to review because I think I fell in love with this book, characters and author. I don't want to write the review because it's like me closing the door, turning my back on these people and I don't want to.

Harper was intelligent, strong, resilient and hilarious. I loved her sharp tongue, her quick wit, but her compassion, honesty, sincerity was top notch. Getting the heck out of dodge when she flees a cheating boss/boyfriend, Harper ends up in a lively little town, hours

Oh god the feels!

This is the kind of book you call out sick to finish. I have spent literally my entire day with Luke and Harper and I'm sad to have to leave their world. It was sweet and sassy and will break your heart then put it back together. This is a definite must read

No, just no. This book is too horrible and unrealistic. So the h catches her bf with a delivery girl, so she just runs away with no phone and wallet. Wow!! Just Wow!!! And then she ends up going to a complete opposite way because she doesn't have gps as she forgot her phone. And then she runs out of gas. Ugh.... And then luckily she ends up in small town with over friendly people. And then she meets the H (view spoiler)So apparently no one ...more

4.5 stars. A wonderful romantic story with a very strong female lead. The story starts off a little unbelievably with our heroine finding herself in our hero's house and bed (platonically) the first night she meets him but it is a well developed and written story after that.

Our heroine has stoically endured a very rough childhood with the death of her parents and numerous foster homes (one especially abusive situation) and is a no nonsense, tell it like it is lady who meets our hero when she be

This is the first book I've read by Lucy Score and it won't be my last. This book was wonderful. There was nothing in this book that I didn't love.

All the characters were absolutely perfect and blended wonderfully. Luke is your basic swoon worthy Alfa male that you can't get enough of. Harper is sweet, sassy and doesn't take shit from anyone.

Every aspect of this book had me hooked. Reading straight through from beginning to end. And I did not want it to end. This book had me laughing, crying,

This can't be romance for me in any way, shape or form. Not even in the perspective of the love for his dead wife, since he was sleeping with h. Despicable behavior.

This was a fun read with great characters, witty dialogue, and a plot that didn't suck. It had one major problem, but I'll get to that.

First off, Harper is just a big bundle of awesome. Life keeps handing her setbacks and not only does she pick herself up and keep on going, but she does so with a determination to find fun and happiness wherever she can while she does. This was impressive and consistent and applicable to both the physical and emotional events, some of them truly devastating. I al

This book felt unnecessarily long to me. In the middle of the book, Luke goes on a six month deployment and there are lots of mundane details that I really didn't care about. Harper plants a garden. Harper does some landscaping. Harper does some redecorating to Luke's house. I think a good editor could have made some cuts to gain a tighter story. The beginning was strong (and much funnier, the humor got less and less through the course of the book), but it got more meandering the furthe

It's been awhile since I've read a great heart warming story. The story is not a new one, but the characters and relationships easily made this book one of my faves. I really loved Harper. She is the strong heroine that you can't not love. You are rooting for her from the beginning and just waiting for Luke to catch up. I love Luke and the growth you see him go through. It was a little frustrating but well worth it. This book had me laughing and tearing up. Benevolence is the perfect scene and a ...more
This was a long one, but it moved along pretty quickly. Two people attracted to each other when first meeting, but one of them unable to make that long-term commitment as their romance intensifies. It was sad; at times being tearful. I kept hoping for the hero to get his act together. But, I could see a "happily ever after" somewhere along the way. Ms. Score totally sucks the reader in with a little bit of suspense, some small-town family loyalty, and a whole lot of tender lovin'. One not to be ...more

This book Is one of those books you will read over and over again! Harper has had a hard life but is one strong female. Harper meets Luke and they pretend there together so his family will leave him alone. But what happens when you fall for the guy who doesn't want a relationship. Will Luke finally be able to move on and see Harper is his future? Will Harper finally feel what it's like to have a family? You will want to throw your kindle and then the next minute you will cry like a baby. I loved ...more

A Kindle Unlimited find! I love when I find awesome books on KU. This one was pretty darn good. Depending on the review schedule, I may have a full one up. In case I don't.... great plot, there isn't anything hugely new with it, but it is engrossing. Dynamic characters and fun characters with dept to them. A definite recommended read.

Right so I had a difficult time with this one because it dealt with one of my taboo tropes. It's not often I saw this but I liked Harper and she deserved more than Luke. He was a coward and an idiot and she forgave far too quickly. He needed to grovel more and I seriously felt like she got sloppy seconds. She was really nice and deserved a man who worshipped her.

Four Stars For Luke and Harper

I could have sworn that I remember so many more of you reading this and me skipping by it because I thought it would be too "corny romantic" for me. As I went to write this review now I see that I was wrong about that fact.
I actually ended up falling in love with this story and all the hometown characters. I didn't think I would. Contemporary type romance books and I have a love/hate relationship but with the mix of Harper's hilarious antics and Luke's demanding

Until 70% of the book it was push and pull from the H. I don’t know for how much longer that went on for, I did not have it in me to read about side characters, while the H was off trying to figure ‘things’ out - ‘things’ being, believing he will be cheating on his wife, who died in an accident.

H: an asshole
h: doormat

If I knew, he was still pinning over his wife, I would’ve never picked up this book.

Waste of money and time!

Thought the heroine in this book was great. Other things didn't work so well for me, but the story telling did keep me going.

What a love story!

When one of your favorite authors (Melanie Shawn) suggests a book to you know it must be good. I have cried during book's before but didn't mind with Pretend you're mine as it brought out happy and sad tears.
I was immediately drawn into Harper and Luke's story. Harper has had to endure sadness and pain in her life but has always looked on the bright side. She's a free spirit but looking to settle down. I liked her sunny disposition
Luke has had his own sadness and pain but has
