I waited for this book forever, but the reviews are in and Im gonna pass. It pains me to say it, but I think Im officially done with KA. I heard this turned into a Honey Series crossover catastrophe - poor Rush, you deserved better - and I dont want reading this to ruin any of the books that still live on the positive side of my mind and memory. Oh well. It was a damned good run. ...more

This is such a hard book for me to rate/review, so Ill keep it short and sweet. There was a lot about this book I really loved. I love the brotherhood of Chaos. I always will. This series will hold a special space in my heart always. I mean, Walk Through Fire is one of my favorite books ever. I also loved Rush and Rebels love story. I feel like Ive been waiting for Rush for FOREVER. And there lies the biggest problem for me. I wanted Rushs story. I didnt want Rush getting half the
Open Letter To Kristen Ashley,
I don't know that this review will reach you or anybody through the impressive number of mystifying 5 star reviews, but I have to make the attempt.

I'll begin with a few questions for your consideration:

What were you thinking? For a book allegedly about Rush and Rebel, there wasn't much about Rush and Rebel.
Did it never occur to you that Beck's redemption was a waste of page time for this book and actually would have made a far more interesting book on its own?

I am done. The divorce is final. I went into this with LOW expectations, and it even managed to fall under those! This book was SOOO long (not a surprise) but good lord there was SO much pointless shit and POVS. I wanted Rush's story! But he and Rebel took a HUGE backseat to all the Chaos drama. On a positive side note, the sex scenes between him and Rebel weren't cheesy b grade porn in this one, so there was that. Then we have KA reducing Benito the evil mastermind of several books into a ...more

Boy, this books a mess! There was so much going on and so many POVs that Rushs story got lost in the mix. I cant believe Im saying this but Ive lost faith in Kristen Ashley as a storyteller.

Its also become obvious she trying her hand in the BDSM & m/m genres and thats cool. I have no doubt shell be good at it! But, my goodness, stay FOCUSED on the series, characters and genre the current book is about for heavens sake! Why her Honey series characters got almost
DNF @ 30%. No rating.

I'm stuck.

And when it starts to feel like a chore, you better call it quits. I won't say a word, it wouldn't be fair. Why rant about the book just because I've outgrown this author?
I am probably going to have to go into WITSEC after I post this as the KA 5 star posse will be after me.

So many things went wrong.

Motorcycle Man, the one that got it all rolling, Fire Inside, the craziest, Ride Steady, the sweetest, and Walk Through Fire, the angstiest all had one thing in common. Okay, two. The most important thing is the primary story centered around the give and take, push and pull, angsty rollercoaster of a couple FALLING IN LOVE with a secondary side story about crazy

I went against my better instincts and decided to read this since I've been wanting Rush's books forever even though I haven't enjoyed two of the most recent KA books. And now that I've read it, I'm at a total loss for words.

Let's explain it this way.

Are there readers out there that loved this book? Absolutely!

Was I one of them?

EDIT to ADDAfter reading all the comments and the reviews to this, I've decided not to read this book. I don't want to tarnish my love for Rush and KA with this. I don't think I can handle it. Anyhoo, thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and commiserating with moi.

Yes, I've broken up with KA's writing, 7 or 8 books ago. But I'd be lying if I say that I'm not curious about Rush's book.

To read or not to read? That is the question! Arrgghh!

I can't believe this is the end, I loved this series so much!I'm going to miss this world and the characters. As always the characters rocked this story and the plot was fantastic.Kristen Ashley did it again!

Free is a great story emotional, sweet and at some points fun. Apart from these you'll find also darkness and violence. It has a little bit of everything.
I loved Rush and Rebel, they have a great relationship.Rush is gentle and he is

Yes believe it or not, Im going to read this. Even after this nonsense posted yesterday
Why? Well, Ive waited for Rushs book forever. And even though KA has ruined every great series of hers (almost) by adding a craptastic book at the end, Im forging through. This series was the beginning of her downfall and Im going down with the ship. The buddy read with my dirty girls group..........should be craptastically fantastic.

Overall Opinion: That felt kind of bitter sweet. I appreciated all the closure we got, but I'm also sad to be leaving these characters. I also appreciated all the side characters from other books having rolls in this book. I think anyone that hasn't read a good bit of KAs works would be totally confused and wouldn't like the book for that reason. It builds off of many other stories, and it felt kind of like what I imagined (because I haven't read it) her Loose Ends: Volume One book

1star. A sad sad poorly veiled attempt at marketing her nasty Honey Series. Rush got ripped off, but then again all of her wrap up/end of series books are a waste of time.

Why in the hell does KA think it's a good idea to mix these worlds? Because it's not. If I wanted to read about assplay, ass rape, and M/M sex with the sister listening to her brother and his partner go at it...(repeatedly I may add) then I would read her Honey Series. In fact I did. Hated it too. She's not even remotely

It was a bittersweet experience reading Free. As much as I longed for Rush's story, I knew it would sadly mark the end of this exceptional series. And with story-lines and tensions escalating across several novels, I was consumed with both excitement and fear re-entering Chaos's world, worried about the welfare of all the brothers, especially my man Tack. As expected, Kristen Ashley led me on another incredible journey as she penned a moving tale of undeniable love, vengeance,
Im done, but I cant review right now. Maybe tomorrow.

2019??? 😭 I just finished Wild Like the Wind last night and Im already craving this one like crazy!!!!

Kristen Ashley is one of my top 5 MF authors and I fell in love with Chaos MC when I first read "Motorcycle Man" and was introduced to Tack and his MC. It is still one of my favorite books, together with the first book in this series "Own the Wind". Now Tack and Shy have always owned my heart, but they just got some stiff competition in the form of Rush ;)

So ...why not 5 full stars ?? Well, that actually has nothing to do with Rush himself, he was perfect. I just needed more of him...of

Ok, I need to preface this by saying I have a been a longtime reader of Ms. Ashleys books. Shes written a shedload of books that have become classic comfort reads for me. Ive read several of her books that I have not enjoyed as much. Ive bought them, borrowed them or been given ARCs of many of her books. It never affects my opinion. I say what I feel and I feel what I say.

This is a deep dive into the things that did and didnt work for me in this final installment of the Chaos series, so lets

I'm completely torn. The promise of Rush's story was so real, I couldn't wait for it. The actuality of it was disappointing and that realization hurts. Rush and Rebel were done a significant injustice here. While their romance was sweet, perfectly KA's style, and true to the heart of all Chaos relationships we've grown to know and love, their story was seriously undermined and I'm so sad about it.

Free, claimed as Rush's story, feels underhanded when so much of the book was told from so many
Spoilers and some cussing ahead 😂

It took me 15 years to complete this book but thankfully I'm finally at the end.

Free was a story of redemption, love and karma. Beck didn't want to believe he'd earned a second shot at love but Janna proved him wrong ...........this wasn't about Beck and his redemption and Janna? Are you sure this wasn't about that?? THEN why the fuck was so much page space devoted to this motherfucker? How am I supposed to cheer on a character to his second chance when he

So I tried to read this repeatedly and I just cannot get past the 6%.. I really, really wanted to read Rush's book. But after trying so many times and getting stuck I started going through friends reviews and I think I'm just gonna stop trying.

I don't know what happened here. I went back and re-read Penmort Castle recently and I really enjoyed it. Then I came back to this and tried again. Nothing. It's like a different person wrote it. KA has really lost her touch for me. I admire her for

Ive been battling for two days to get into this but its just too much effort. The array of povs, the shifting timeline and the huge cast of characters is bewildering and frankly, tedious. I have no fecking clue whats happening.

There was the start of a spark between Rebel and Rush that kept me going, but the mass of confusing conversations and references to characters I cant recall from other books and series suffocated that. Sorry but Ive suffered enough.

Sad because Ive had this on

Warning: Spoiler-ish Rant ahead.

I wish we had a rating for "I wish I could go back in time and not only not read this book but forget it ever existed" To give you a warning how bad this book is, this started out as a buddy read, but I got way ahead and warned Sparkles and Lily off. Boy, do they owe me!

KA used to be one of my favorite writers. I'm one of those always giving her the benefit of the doubt and championing her books everywhere. From now on, though, I'll be checking out the reviews

I have so many thoughts as I turn the last page of Free, mainly that I'm incredibly sad this series is over. Kristen Ashley's Chaos series is easily my most reread series EVER, so there's no fear of me leaving them behind anytime soon, but still, it's incredibly bittersweet to have read the final book.

I enjoyed Free very much, even though I have to admit that I did miss the romantic drama and angst that I've come to expect each couple to face throughout the series. This book is a montage of

I am completely and utterly gobsmacked by Free. Completely blown away on every level. This is Kristen Ashleys coup de grâce that brings all things Chaos full circle. It is so much more than just Rush and Rebels story. It is her final love letter to Chaos MC and all of her readers. While I hope this is not the last we hear of Chaos, but if this is the end, I am content with all she gave us in this book.

This book is about forgiveness, revenge, redemption, loyalty, love, and the most important

I started this I read the Prologue but the thought of picking up my kindle and reading this makes me miserable.

After reading a few reviews and the mentions of other characters which I dont remember, all the other POVs, other couples having sex and the crossover with the Honey series which I DNF the first book and the length of the book, I have decided against reading this.

The last release I read by KA and LOVED was Rock Chick Reawakening which was a

The much anticipated conclusion to this beloved series unfortunately missed the mark a little for me.

Ive been excited for Rush to get his own book since being introduced to him in Motorcycle Man in 2012, and although I did enjoy Free, I have to say I was disappointed with how little of the storyline was dedicated to him and Rebel. There was as much attention, and what seemed to be more development, in Beck and Jannas story, who are supposed to be side characters. Free is such a long book and

When I started this series a while ago I fell in love.
I also love Motorcycle Man which I read in 2016!
I've been waiting so long for this book as I loved reading about Rush in the other books.
There were a few parts I liked but I was so not into this book at all. There was too much POV from the other characters and I didn't enjoy it.
