Maverick was the second book in the Black Hornet MC series by Savannah Rylan. Although the series was a spinoff from Rylan’s Dead Souls MC series, the series could be read as a stand-alone; however, the series itself should be read in order.

Maverick was the Treasurer of the MC. He was the numbers guy as well as the typical love ‘em and leave ‘em profile. He was also a loyal and protective alpha for those he considered family.

Gabriela was being groomed to take over the family business. Her entire life had focused around this one goal. She was a daddy’s girl and she would do anything for her father’s approval. Little did she know how far she would have to go.

I enjoyed the beginning and it picked up where book one, Jace, left off. I liked both characters, the suspenseful plot and the manner in which Rylan unraveled their stories. Rylan immediately set the stage for Maverick and Gabby’s introduction and we knew up front there would be an ultimate conflict that would be difficult to work through. And although enjoyable, it was a little rushed for me. I wanted a little more development and details. Additionally, the editing errors were numerous and distracting.

With that said, it was a solid storyline and a great bridge for continuing the series. As expected in the series, it ended with another teaser. Duke is up next and I can’t wait to see where Rylan takes us.

In this 2nd in the Black Hornets MC series, we have Maverick. Maverick is usually riding around town making sure nothing is out of the ordinary and no one is dealing drugs.

We also have Gabby. She usually digging up information on companies and people for her father. Thinking she’s helping his business and doing a job for his work. Gabby doesn’t realize that her father is one of the top ranking people inside the cartel.

Gabby and Maverick meet one night she is at a local bar. They’ve lived in the same area most of their lives and yet they’ve never seen each other until now.

Gabby and Maverick totally hit things off with seductive looks from across the bar at each other. Of course they go back into the bathroom to get things going. Gabby goes home with Maverick. Both thinking this was a one night stand, but once they are apart for a few hours they both want each other back.

Maverick and Gabby do meet up again and have the same steamy romance again. Maverick realizes who Gabby is after one of his club mates mentions her. Gabby realizes who her father is and what he has done, and how she has helped him all along.

Will Gabby and Maverick be in the run from her father and the cartel? Will Maverybe able to protect her? Will this danger drive a wedge in between them?

A threat, and a promise, then a THREAT – An incredible MUST-BUY novel MC style!
I absolutely adore this new series by author Savannah Rylan! The men are big and rough but moral. They are well known in the community and the surrounding areas, not for the mayhem that most MC’s are known for; instead, their greatest gift is the protection they give to the innocent and their community. These Black Hornets are gritty, skilled and most are former military. But when security is needed, the Black Hornets know how to get things done. In the first novel of the series, readers met Jace the club’s VP and Leti the woman who went from being a client to being Jace’s lover. In “MAVERICK” readers meet Gabriela who thinks she is going undercover to gather intel for her father’s business associates. However, what Gabriela finds is Maverick, the Black Hornet for whom the novel is named. Gabby also gets her eyes opened and her life changed through that association, but you will have to read this compelling and fast-paced adventure yourself to find out the “deets.” At time “MAVERICK” felt more like an action-adventure drama than a romance, but then I turned the page and BOOM, there’s the romance again! I LOVED this novel! It is well written, tells a GREAT story with lots of moving parts, and entertained me for hours while my feet recovered from last minute shopping. Savannah Rylan is an incredibly talented writer, her characters are compelling, and as in the case of Gabby, her heroines are strong and smart. I voluntarily read a copy of “MAVERICK” and this is my honest, voluntary review. “MAVERICK” gets 5+STARS from this reviewer, and a STRONG recommendation to all who love reading romance with a little spice and a lot of steam, or those who like MC trope, READ this novel TODAY! Loads better than the first. A lot more mistakes in this though.

While I did really enjoy this book, why oh why are all the women a bit stupid? Gabby is a highly educated computer engineer, who seems to do nothing, apart from the occasional assignment from her dad, and bake cakes. It doesn’t make sense. Why is she not working? She said she got her degree to fit in with her dads company, but she doesn’t know what he does. Every so often he asks her to investigate people and she goes undercover. A computer engineer goes undercover??? 😂😂😂 IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE!!

Having got that off my chest, here’s the plot. Gabby is told by her dad to investigate The Black Hornets Mc, as they are interfering in his business. (No she still doesn’t ask him what that means.) Gabby’s dad is a leader in the cartel, and he wants to destroy the Mc. So Gabby goes undercover meets Maverick, sleeps with him and then pumps him for information. He finds out who she is, she finds out who her dad is, then they’re all in danger.

The plot sounds really bad the way that I wrote it, but I did enjoy it. So the mistakes. The mistakes are endless. When Gabby first meets Maverick in the bar, he looks at her legs in her tight jeans. Then he looks at her bare legs, then he pulls her tight dress up. In one night she wears jeans, shorts and a dress! Shaking my head. The next day after sleeping at his house, going home getting told off by her dad, running out the door and she’s wearing a completely different outfit from the night before. Gabby says she’s got four sisters. Later on it’s five. She calls them her sisters rather them name them, has she forgotten how many she’s got? Jace the master hacker says she’s got four or five sisters. Does anyone know how many there are???? You get my point.

This is the 2nd story in the Black Hornets MC. Maverick’s story tells us his role in the MC is investing the clubs money and the tech side of it. They are still dealing with the drug cartel - Rojas Diablos which we meet in the 1st story. Gabby is the daughter of a very important member of the American side of the cartel. Gabby is the oldest daughter of six sisters and has gone to school to learn the skills on a computer to track anyone and anything. She is asked to infiltrate the Balck Hornets and ends up making contact with Maverick on her first night out. There is an instant connection which they take back to his place for the night! As things progress with the cartel it comes out who Gabby really is and Maverick goes to confront her only to find out Gabby has been in the dark the entire time. They run with Maverick wanting to protect and keep Gabby safe. The MC realizes what’s going on and they get behind Maverick hoping to find out more about the cartel and get some bad guys. Once everything falls apart will Maverick and his MC be able to protect Gabby and Leti? I look forward to reading the next story in the series! And it just keeps getting better..... Maverick the tech guru and Treasurer for the MC has met his match, but not for the right reasons of a one night stand. Gabriella Martinez oldest daughter to Alejandro has been groomed to be able to take over the family business once her father is no longer to. But Gabby has no idea what the stakes are. Her life has been drawn for her and her whole job is to infiltrate others diffing and getting the info to take them down. Since her father has claimed that the need help with their own businesses. But while on assignment to get into the MC she has met up with Maverick and something so strange happens and they just click. While the sly winks jokes come backs and touches happen one night for them she finds her way in to get all the information on the MC to bring them down for her father and the business. But poor Gabby is in for a hell of an awakening while not only falling for Maverick but finally fully understanding what has been going one in her family. Will this make or break them, will the MC back Maverick or push him to the limit to keep Gabby. So much to find out.... So grab your copy and enjoy

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Black Hornets MC series. In this book, Maverick and the rest of the MC are getting ready for a war with the cartel. Gabby works for her father gathering information for the family business. Gabby's father asks her to get information about the Black Hornets MC, and Gabby decides she has to go undercover to see if she can get close enough to learn more. Maverick sees Gabby and he wants her. Gabby thinks she can use Maverick to get information, but she is attracted to him and he makes her laugh. Gabby and Maverick spend time flirting and laughing throughout the night and when Maverick suggests Gabby go for a ride, she goes. Gabby doesn't know her family works for the cartel and she thinks the MC are the bad guys who want to hurt her family. The more Gabby learns about Maverick and the MC, the more she questions what she was told. I loved this series. This book is another quick paced read. There is a lot of drama and danger. I loved Maverick and Gabby together. I think Gabby had to learn hard truths and she had to follow her heart. Great one.

This is the second book in the series, and it will not disappoint!!! I love this series already!!

Gabby is the oldest daughter and will eventually takeover her father's business. So when he gives her jobs to help out the business, she jumps at the chance. But she is tasked with looking into the Black Hornets MC and Maverick is her way in, if she can find him. But what happens with things shift and she needs him more than he needs her? Will he protect her from her family and father?

When Maverick goes to his favorite bar for wings and a beer, he sees Gabby, and when they cannot keep their eyes and hands off each other, Maverick thinks this is a nice way to keep him distracted from everyday life. But when business and pleasure mix, it is not always a good thing. But in this case, can it be a good thing? Can he protect her? Will the MC protect her when they find out who she really is?

This story has it all, from off the charts sexual chemistry, action, suspense, love, lust, romance and so much more. I can't wait for the next one to see what else happens!!! And I really can't wait for Colt's book, mmmmm. I received an ARC of this book from the author.

Maverick is the second book in the Black Hornets MC series. If possible, I think I love this one more than the first. The cast of characters includes Maverick the treasurer and techi of the Black Hornets MC and Gabriella (Gabby) the daughter of Alejandro a member of the cartel. Her father has asked her to find information regarding the Black Hornets MC so she has targeted Maverick. Gabby works for her father gathering information for his company but she doesn't know that his company is actually the cartel. When Gabby and Maverick meet there is an undeniable attraction and they begin to fall for each other. What will Gabby do when she discovers the truth regarding her father? What will Maverick do when he realizes that Gabby belongs to the cartel? There is a war brewing between the Cartel and the Black Hornets and they are caught in the middle. If you're looking for spell-binding romance, and spine-chilling suspense that will hold your attention til the end then Maverick is for you. A definite five star must read.

The Best MC Series Continues...
Maverick, is Book two of the Black Hornets MC Series by author Savannah Rylan. Maverick is the tech geek of the club. He is responsible for investing the club's money. Presently they are still dealing with the drug cartel, Rojas Diablos which we met in Book One. In this book, Gabby, is the daughter of a higher up in the cruel and is being trained to take over for her father. In order to infiltrate the club she goes undercover and meets Maverick at a bar. They hook up but it quickly turns serious until he finds out who she really is. Then, all hell breaks loose. What will he do?
I really liked this book as the storyline begins to get more intense between the club and cartel. I recommend this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment. I am volunteering to leave a review of this advanced review book.

I received this book for an honest review. This is Book 2 of the Black Hornets MC by Savannah Rylan which is filled with danger, murder and drama. Maverick is the tech guru and treasurer for the club. Gabby works for her father gathering information for the family business. When her father asks her to gather information against the Black Hornets, she gets close to Maverick who she meets at a bar. The chemistry and sexual tension between these two is so intense that they hook up. When he finds out who she really is and that her father is with the Rojas Diablos Cartel enemy of the club, things take a turn for the worse. When Gabby learns the truth about her father, her life as well as her mother and siblings is in danger. Can Maverick and the Black Hornets save them in time as they get ready for a war that is coming. This is a must read!!!! Can't wait for book 3.

This is the 2nd book in the Black Hornets MC series, and it just keeps getting better and better. Maverick who is the Treasurer/techy of the group meets Gabby who is also a techy and being groomed by her father to take over the "business". Their 1st meeting was off the charts and explosive, and it continues to be throughout the book. There were some rough patches, but they overcome them. A lot of action, some adventure but enough romance to keep you hooked. I was asked to review this ARC copy and I gladly did so. Again, this is a great series and if you haven't started it, you should. Can't wait for the next book to see what else happens. Love this series and Savannah doesn't disappoint with her MC books.

Loved Maverick and Gabby!!

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more explosive, the Black Hornets are still dealing with the cartel. When Maverick meets a beautiful woman in a bar it becomes apparent that there is something about her that’s special. What he doesn’t know is Gabby has been tasked with infiltrating the Black Hornets to gather information for her father’s business. When certain information comes to light it becomes apparent that she is the enemy and in the thick of the war that they are waging. Maverick will do anything to keep his family safe at all costs.

I must say this series is going places I didn't expect but it is one thrill of a ride so far. I can't wait for the next book.

It's always hard to write a review for these and not giving anything away. Maverick is a bad boy biker Romance and like all her romance novels Savannah Rylan knows how to write a good one. Her characters are fun and well-developed an interesting to follow but I have to say did the last two Series this one included has been over the top. The backstory sideline stories that Arc through the entire series keep you going and guessing the whole time. Maverick is part of this set and while it can be read on its own the underlying Arc of the series is worth following from book to book. So if you like steamy romances, bad boy bikers, or women who know what they want you will not be disappointed. A fun read with plenty of Adventure along with the romance.

This is the second book in the series and is the story of Maverick and Gabby. Gabby has been sent undercover into the Mc by her father after he convinces her they are corrupt what she doesn't know is that he is the evil one. Maverick is instantly attracted to the curvy women but can he trust her. What happens when they learn one anothers secrets can they work together to keep one another and the MC safe and will Gabby be able to fight against her father for the man she loves You need to read to see how this drama filled story ends

OMG Maverick second story in Black Hornets MC series #2. So this Maverick and Gabriel story. So the MC are still on the look out for any sign of the cartel, Maverick is the club Treasurer and Gabriel is the daughter of Rd corruption who is really high up in the cartel. They both have a instant connection plus theres plenty flirting and joke around with each one night that leads Gabriel going for a ride with him, OMG there plenty of twists and secrets that unfold for both of them, A must read, I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy. Not what I expected. Not at all. But that is in the most positive way. MC club stories are normally much alike each other but this one surprised me. I liked it a lot. Well written story with a nice storyline and plot. I like that the characters and how they develop.
A passionate and emotional read with twists. Enjoyable and recommendable.

It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters.

There are passion, drama, danger, protectiveness, family issues, hot scenes and lots of chemistry in this amazing story.
I am not that into Cliffhangers so that was an off for me. But I cannot wait for the next book.

Awesome contemporary motorcycle club romance. Maverick and the group of the Black Hornets MC are trying to stop drugs and the cartel from bringing drugs into their town. Gabby has been given the task to get as much information as possible on the MC and even going undercover. Gabby’s being trained by her father so some day she can take his position. Gabby believes that her father actually has a shipping and acquisition business but... I enjoyed this story and Ms. Rylan’s writing style. The characters keep the reader involved. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author especially in this series.

If you're looking for an easy to follow, hot, steamy, sexy, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you've found it. The characters and scenes were realistic and believable. Twists and turns and unpredictable surprises that kept my eyes on the pages and on the edge of my seat. I followed the characters fascinated as their personalities transformed and blended. Vivid detailed descriptions were so life like and on point. The storyline was solided and well defined. Cold showers may be in order when your finished. Savannah Rylan did a remarkable job bringing this read together beautifully.

What I liked/Didn’t Like: This is Maverick and Gabby’s Story. Family is what you make of it especially when her family wants her to have nothing to do with him. Fast paced read, I completed in under 2 hours. Well written and fun to read.

Keep 'em coming

I love this series...it just gets better and better. Maverick though Gabriela was a one night stand until he learned that she was the eldest daughter of a high ranking cartel official sent to infiltrate his MC. Gabriela, working under the assumption that she was helping the family business, had no idea that what she thought was their family business was real the Mexican Cartel until she took a closer look at her father's files. Maverick and the rest of the MC will do anything to protect their family which now includes Gabriela.

I love how the story picks up where the first one left off. The story line is great and everything flows organically.

What an incredible read! I was literally glued to the pages and finished this book in one day. The story of the cartel deepens with this book and a lot of new twists and turns come to light. Gabriela is determined to infiltrate the MC but did not expect to meet Maverick. When her true identity comes to light Maverick is angry and hurt. Gabriela comes clean with him and the MC and helping to bring a drug Lord to justice...her own father.
"Maverick" is the second book in this series and the plot thickens. This series needs to be read in order to get the full effect of this story. Another amazing read!

Maverick isn’t prepared for the knockout punch to his whole body when he sees Gabby Martinez, Cartel princess, in a club owned bar. Gabby’s partially in on the family business but only the investigative piece she does for her father but that night, Gabby went undercover to get more information on the club since they’d dared put a kink in the drug flow in town.

With just enough information to be dangerous, Gabby began her task but had no clue how hard and fast she’d fall for Maverick. But as she began to obsess over him, Gabby learned more about the ‘family business’ and wanted out.

Maverick is book two in the series The Black Hornets by author Savannah Rylan. Holy sh......!! This one is incredibly intense!! Imagine living and believing in one person you’re whole life - only to find out that it’s all lies. Now there’s one man who’s different and important. Will he believe you or will he be your end??
Yep, absolutely intense!! Oh and some deliciously sexy scenes as well!! Waiting with bated breath for the next in this series!!

An incredibly intense amazing well written story. It includes lots of drama, danger, suspense, undeniable attraction, sizzling chemistry and romance. I was on the edge of my seat with adrenaline racing as Gabby is excited to help the family business but quickly discovers the truth and her whole world is turned upside down. Wonderful engaging characters as the war between the Cartel and the Black Hornets becomes more iintense and Gabby and Maverick are caught in the middle. Can't wait for next book in the series. Maverick is the second story in the series and is about Maverick, the Black Hornets treasurer and Gabriela, the oldest daughter of a drug cartel kingpin. She is sent undercover to gather intel on the MC and places herself in the position to meet Maverick. But things aren't what they seem and Savannah Rylan is a master storyteller. There are many twists and turns in this book. It is intended for adults due to language and graphic sexual content. It is part of a series and the story will continue in the next book, DUKE.

Great!

I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I really enjoyed most of the characters. Maverick and Gabriella they were a very unusual couple she was trying to find Intel on him, and he was just trying to find him a good bedmate. This was a book of betrayal, revenge, compassion, and dealing with a whole lot of mess. The way that these guys met was under very abnormal circumstances. They had to go through a whole lot of stuff in order to get to where they could really be together. This was a really good story. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

The numbers guy for the MC!

Maverick keeps the books for the club, he decided to go to his old neighborhood and see some old friends. Trying to learn more about the drugs coming into the town! After he left he went to his favorite bar to drink and eat. While their a young woman there gives him the eye and their story begins. Sexy, steamy, and violence is added to the story. The girl is undercover for her father who is a member of the cartel! Recommend this book with a 5 Stars rating
