Trilogy-1. The first two books of this trilogy I found I owed a great debt to Max Overton for telling this story with these brilliantly drawn characters. I would have continued to feel that way if I had not read the third book. This trilogy shouldn't have been stretched to three books when two would have been better.
The final book in this trilogy was just as good as the first. True to form Max Overton did an excellent job bringing the characters alive. Like the others the plot was good and not over simplistic. It left a bit of mystery at the end as well. Which I hope extends his trilogy into a second one. Again "Fantastic"! Well worth the read.
Lots of fight scenes, a mediocre love story and some ok period detail. Don't go out of your way to read this series, but if you are stuck with nothing else to read it's ok. Barely.
