**Lethally Tipsy: Maggie's 7th adventure** is just out for a cozy autumn read!

Amber Boffin loves stories and writing. She started writing to keep in touch with friends from different continents and then to document her travels around the world. British-born, she worked and lived in a number of countries together with her husband before settling in Canada.

The idea that her cozies might provide you with a little moment of cheerful entertainment, an escape from our hectic world via some of nature’s beautiful places, with a mystery or two to tease your mind, motivates Amber to write.

Lethally Ripe by Amber Boffin was a lovely cozy mystery. Ms. Boffin returns the readers to the little village of Foxton in summer where there is much more than regattas and barbecues happening.

Maggie Flanagan is a strong and independent character who has now settled into Foxton and is trying to build up her photography business. When a man is found dead at the marina the night before the summer regatta, she just can't help herself from investigating. She's also recently met Arthur and Bettie who live on an island in the lake. She helped Arthur recover a parcel in the lake that turns out to be smuggled Stilton cheese. Turns out Arthur is Adam's godfather so Maggie feels that she needs to investigate the smuggling, too.

A smoothly paced plot with likable characters that kept me intrigued until the reveal.

In the little village of Foxton, where everyone knows everyone else, can there really be something sinister going on, like smuggling? And then there is a body found in a boat in the marina. Put that together and you find Maggie Flanagan, a photographer trying to make a go of a new photo business and somehow she is right in the middle of this mystery. We meet a sweet old couple, Authur and Betty who live on the island when there is a boat accident while Maggie is canoeing on the lake and is hit by Arthur's boat and is capsized. But, Arthur is dragging something behind the boat and when brought up he and Maggie see that it is cheese - Stilton to be exact. How in the world did it get there? Is cheese what is being smuggled and quietly investigated according to Adam her secret crush. Then we have Arthur, the sweet old man who is under suspicion of the smuggling since he pulled the cheese out of the water, could he be a murderer too? He is Adam's godfather and Maggie feels it is not only her curiosity, but her duty to help clear Adam's godfather. Strange twists and turns and accusations, especially by newspaper reporter, Tina who loves to jump to conclusions and pat herself on the back. Wow so much going on and you are kept turning pages to find out what happens next! I can't wait to see the next adventure the author has in store for us in the next book to this must read series. I received and ARC but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Fun, light cozy mystery series in the making
I was curious to see whether this debut author was as promising as I thought she might be. And I was happily surprised with her second book Lethally Ripe. It is an easy and very enjoyable read with an unusual plot that kept me hooked till the end.
The relationships between the characters are growing and like in real life evolve in unanticipated directions at times. Aside from the familiar cast in the first book, I enjoyed some of the new characters, particularly Arthur, an endearing and mischievous geezer. I hope we will see more of him in the future stories.
Beans and Carrot, Maggie’s dogs are back with their funny antics and now a Maine Coon cat has joined the menagerie to my delight.
I like how Amber describes the setting while not being overly descriptive.
I was transported once again to the little Canadian village by the lake. I could even feel the summer atmosphere as if I was there, the warm water of the lake and the BBQ smell in the air.
I can’t wait for the next book!

Smelly feet or is it cheese?

A wonderful read that involves, cheese, smuggling, drugs and death. As well as a bit of spying. Loved the community feeling that came through with the interaction between the characters.
Taking a picture of a loon ends in her canoe being rammed (and sinking) and the catch of the day. A huge Silton being fished out of the lake. Plus meeting the senior couple that live on the island across from her. Why was there a cheese (well wrapped) in the middle of the lake? With her canoe sunk, she is given a wooden one by the couple and a buying trip to get a paddle ends with her being present when a body is found. Add in smuggling, affairs, secrets, car chases, cold war spies and birthday celebrations. Will they catch the smugglers? Will they find out how the man died? Will the celebrations go off without a hitch?

Lethally Ripe is the second book in the Maggie Flanagan Cozy Mystery series. Set in the small village of Foxton by the lake Maggie Flanagan is out in her canoe figuring out where the best advantage point is to take photos of the ragatta that is taking place the next day. When a neighbor finds a large package of Stilton cheese at the bottom of the lake and then a man is found murdered Maggie's first instinct is to investigate. Is the discovery of the stinky cheese and the murder related? Or just coincidence? Well written characters and a great mystery will have you turning the pages! Highly recommend!

Lethally Ripe: A Maggie Flanagan Cozy Mystery by Amber Boffin hits all the high notes for whodunit fans. The story takes place in an interesting setting, is populated with fun characters, and keeps readers guessing who committed the crimes. Readers worry about yet cheer on protagonist Maggie as her curiosity causes her to stick her nose into places where she should not and as she pushes for answers from unpredictable people.
Fun to read from start to finish, Lethally Ripe has this reader hoping Amber Boffin keeps writing more books in this series.

Its quite peculiar how all great mystery beach reads center around a great eatery that makes the senses go crazy with the imagined aroma of coffee and cinnamon rolls!
Taking place in Northern Ontario near the great Algonquin Park , the reader discovers there's more to the packaged stinky blue cheese floating in the lake . A cast of characters leads us through a mysterious summer while sharing some great facts about nature and summer in the North. It's a fun read belonging to a series written by this author .

Another Exciting Mystery from Amber Boffin

Maggie is a great character and is always in the right place at dead body time. There was a lot going on in this story, smuggling, drunk llamas, a drunk dead guy, and stinky cheese. Everything gets unraveled in the end and it wasn't easy with so many suspects. Moving on to book three.

This second book from Amber Boffin is even faster paced than the last one - so full of twists and turns I was in danger of getting muddled up. However, it's lovely to read a character-led book that doesn't automatically end up in bed with the detective.

A photographer with a nose for investigating, small town in Canada, flying lessons, smelly cheese, eccentric old man, hunky Australian game warden, smuggling, good cop/bad cop, video games and a body in a boat - What do these add up to? A wonderful cozy mystery that I recommend you read.

Maggie Flanagan is a fun person to read. However, I didn’t enjoy this mystery as much as I did the first mystery in this series. That being said, the location of the book is great and Maggie is an independent and spirited young woman.

Amber Boffin's "Lethally Ripe" is book #2 of the Maggie Flanagan Cozy Mystery books. In this novel, our protagonist, Maggie Flannagan, is considered a suspect when she finds a unusual package from the lake.

In this small village of Foxton, in Canada's West Coast, many of the characters feel they are assisting with uncovering the mystery of the package. As with any well-written mystery, the reader must pay attention to the clues throughout the story.

Thank you GoodReads for the book.
