~ 4.5 Divine Passion Stars ~

Divine Passion is a novella #3.5 in the Guardians series by Valerie Twombly. If you love a verity of supernatural creatures, magic, adventure and romance then you will love the Guardians.

I loved Divine Passion. Baal is one HAWT demon. He is dead set on being a ladies man and never settling down or opening up his heart to anyone every again. Ranata takes everything in stride and is one tough cookie. We get a few surprises along the way on who she is and her fa

Divine Passion is Baal's story, though the rest of the Guardians are also present. Baal is a Kothar Demon. His heart was broken by a human woman a long time ago, and he's vowed to never love again. Ranata is a human bartender in a dive bar. She longs for a better life for herself. She has trouble trusting after being abandoned, along with her sister, by her birth mother. Will Baal and Ranata be able to share their secrets, and uncover Ranata's hidden talent, before it is too late? This was a grea ...more

I have been looking forward to reading this one since I finished the last Guardian's book. Luckily, I got my greedy hands on an ARC so I didn't have to wait forever for it to come out.

I absolutely love Baal. He's snarky, sarcastic, and a general bad-ass- exactly what you'd expect a demon to be. Of course, like all of Twombly's sexy, alpha males, he has another side that can only be brought to the surface when he meets his destined mate.

Ranata... well, even after the book is over, she is still so

From the first mention of Baal in the Guardians series, I've been hoping and waiting to hear his story, so I was excited that Divine Passion would be telling his story. He's written to be so passionately alpha, a playboy who surrounds his heart with impenetrable walls. He's the toughest there is, and makes the perfect powerful lead male.

Renata is pretty tough herself, a strong and brave young woman, selfless and determined. The two of them make an interesting match, especially when Baal insists

There was so much packed into this novella; this ain't no fairy tale frou frou story. No easy to come happy endings, where the only thing in your way is a jealous ex. Noooo, think of the impossible mating that would be catastrophic, add in a supernatural war, and. You have a recipe for success. Frustrating, mind blowing, and screaming, page turning craziness. That is what you get in this series. I found Baal intriguing from the previous novels. He is protective of his mate, but wary of falling i ...more

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Valerie Twombly. This book is from Guardians by the author.

Ranata is trying to find her sister but when she is taken to be a human sacrifice a demon steps in and saves her. The only problems is he is her fated mate and she does not know who she really is. Baal is hunting a demigod and runs across Ranata. Off to a rocky start he agrees to help find her sister but along the way he has to fight off demons who want to kill her. These 2

He is a demon and he finds out he has one true mate. When he learns who they are he is determined not to go for her. Her sister is taken by a demon to kill for a sacrifice. She then she learns she is not fully human. She will do anything to save her sister even marrying him. Falling in love is not an option. Can she save her sister? Will she call in love? Can he keep her safe? See how they get on

First off "dark chocolate and chili" interesting combination. :-D I loved Baal's story, it was hot, steamy, and full of demons, guardians, Gods, and of course Fae. Ranata is very headstrong, loyal, and very determined to learn and save the ones she loves. Baal, well he's just a cocky man that knows what he's got and loves to flaunt it. Just wait when you read about Ranata and one of the Gods, I laughed so hard. I seriously love how Valerie Twombly makes love grow in all her stories and this one ...more

I loved Baal. Renata was a nice surprise. These two getting together was just a heart pounding, action romance. There was a great plot with this book. It was just your typical demon, paranormal-ish romance. The characters are likable and I enjoy seeing the story as it unfolded. I'm excited to see what comes next!

I love the way Valerie Twombly writes and explains each of her characters with such passion. Baal can be such a sarcastic yet gentle man/demon. And Ranata is such a strong, independent woman. Yet she is just wanting to know more about her past. And is she ever in for a treat. Excellent book!!!!

Baal was stunned that he actually got turned down by a woman for the first time! In fact, the exotic woman behind the bar wouldn’t even give him her name! He offered her a job in his highly successful Vegas club called “Dragon’s Cove” as hostess in the casino. He offered to fly her in for an interview. With a limo, private jet, and free hotel room, he hoped she would consider it. As he was leaving, she called out her name to him – Ranata. This is one hell of a story no pun intended. I have to admit this is the best one so far. This post was so good I just could not put it down and read it straight through to the end . It had such a wonderful flow to the book stop. I am so ready for the next book cuz I truly love this one. Hell I love this entire series. These books can be read as individual stories but I recommend reading the whole series. Because there is an underlying story all the way through the whole set. And if you miss one ...more

Love the Guardians Series and the main character Baal is one of my all time favs.

Baal a hot sexy demon is under no obligations to anyone. but myself and he likes it that way. Well, considering he is the favorite of the demon lord Hades. His world is turned upside down when a human female turns out to be his she really only human? .....or is she something much more? Vowing never to fall in love again, Baal fought this mating.

Baal and Ranata made me want to shake these two for most of the book. The constant hot and cold and needless bickering overtook what would have been a good combination. By the time they did finally pull their heads out of their posterior I was pretty much over them.

Both of them headstrong and Alpha’s should have played out better instead for me they came across like teenagers sniping at each other.

The overlying story is beginning to pick up some momentum and more information is being metered o

I received this book from an honest review.

This was my first book of Valarie Twombly's. Yes it is the forth book in the series and I was able to keep up and do not feel like I was missing something. Although like with any other series I'm sure there are small things I do not know of the characters has I read the series from book one.

Baal and Ranata

Some women want the full package when it comes to having a man in your life but that is not always the case. He must be fiercely protective, demanding and dominant (he will never intentionally harm you), willing to give you the world, sacrifice himself to make sure you are happy, and defeat your enemies or help you do it yourself. Okay, I don't think we will find this among humanity so guess you need a demon for that kind of happiness.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Demon's Destiny by Valerie Twombly is Book 4 of the Guardian series. Here is a series that, unbelievably, keeps getting better and better. Valerie Twombly gives us characters that you can't help but love. Despite being demons, angels, Gods, Demi-Gods, Fae, etc. they are presented with a humanity and scope of emotion that feels real and will suck you in. Be prepared to laugh, cry, hurt and hate right along side Baal, Chaval, Lucan, Ranata and even Hades. In a world g ...more

Demon's Destiny is book four in the Guardians series. This is another excellent addition to the series and can be read as a stand alone that will have you reading the previous three books to find out about the other couples/characters referred to. This is an exceptionally well written story line with interesting and engaging characters. The MCs are Baal, a Kothar Demon, and Ranata, a human with more. They are fated to be together as mates. When the Fates give you a mate, you accept it and you like it. This is true especially when you're a demon and Hades, himself, gives you a fae-human mate. Acceptance. Enjoyment.

1) What worked for me:
-I liked the world the author created
-the naughty scenes were detailed and hot
-I liked how strong Ranata was
-there were no obvious editing issues

2) What did not work for me:
-at times, it felt like there was to much going on, plot wise (eg Lucan)
-I prefer more steamy scenes

Trigger warning: N/A

This is a well written story with strong characters and an action packed story line. Baal and Ronata have a hot chemistry but neither wanted to be mated. They agree in order to find her sister and bring peace to the Fae kingdom. I enjoyed this book I really liked Baal who was willing to do almost anything for those he cares about, no sacrifice was too much for him to protect or help his friends. He may be a self-admitted man-whore who avoids any form of commitment, that is until he meets Ranata the one woman he cannot get out of his mind.

I have to say that for a lot of the story I wanted to bang Baal and Ranata's heads together, their bickering and attitude swings were over the top. For two strong characters, they came

Wow just wow what an absolutely fantastic story and this is book 4 in the Guardians series and I can’t wait to get my hands on book 5 Hades, and this is the story of Baal and Ranata. Baal was a playboy he loved the women but as soon as they wanted commitment he ran like hell that is until he meets Ranata. Wonderful PNR read! This is Baal's well-written storyline and it has twists, attraction, steam, demons, demi-gods, an arranged marriage with a supposed human. The main characters are great, one is the H, a totally alpha male womanizer who has vowed to never let love into his heart, and the h is a human female who will sacrifice her happiness to save another, but is later revealed to be more. Unputdownable read that is engaging and entertaining and I loved it.

Apparently the man we have always wanted was a demon. Just a wonderful person. Baal seems perfect to me as long as he stays in love and is faithful. I just love him. Loyal, always willing to help, and willing to do anything for those he cares about - those are perfect qualities. I need him. Just to bad Ranata got to him first. They are the perfect couple - well once they each discover each other. Great book in series.

I really liked this book. Although it is part of an ongoing series, this can be read as a standalone. And if you are like me, you will definitely want to read up on the other interesting couples mentioned in this book. Baal and Ranata are so passionate together that their loving each other was inevitable, fated and mated by the gods and a force to be reckoned with, as their enemies will learn. Great storytelling!
