A compact essential history for understanding the Cold War in Southeast Asia.
Although not an argumentative work, the book actually provides a detailed narrative and well arranged chronology history of the Vietnam War, a good starting book for those who wish to explore further into politics in Southeast Asia.
However, the book lacks the maps indicating where the battles take place, where the military bases are established, where the incidents occur, how the battalions advance and retreat, which I consider to be significant in order to understand the history of the war.
Instead, the pictures attach in the book are mostly the military hardwares; helicopters, tanks, soldiers equipment. I have to print the battle maps and paste them into the spaces of the book myself.
