A Tennessee detective haunted by a childhood trauma is stirred by an isolated woman in need of protection . . .
Detective Caleb Nash’s childhood kidnapper has never been caught, and not even reuniting with his family has healed the scars. Then he meets guarded, beautiful Nina Drake.
Damaged by her own past and living in self-imposed isolation, Nina tries to keep her distance from the cowboy lawman. But when she’s the target of mysterious attacks, only Caleb can keep her safe. Will his vow to protect resurrect his own childhood torments?
Tyler Anne Snell spends her days plotting murders, creating mysteries, and weaving sexual tension, romance, and can't-live-without-you love throughout each. When she isn't writing romantic suspense she's reading urban fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and falling even more in love with Netflix.
Tyler lives in South Alabama with her same-named husband, their mini lions, and a burning desire to meet Kurt Russell.
I am thrilled about this new series by Ms. Snell and Reining In Trouble sets the stage for the upcoming stories well, whetting the appetite for more to come. The Nash family with their tight bond is just in my alley, and the triples, their past drama, and their triplet connection is something I am intrigued about. Nina Drake is a survivor. The childhood turmoil she went through, losing her mother, and the aftermath, has shaped her as a woman. A new start, with a low profile, at the Nash resort is what she was looking. But that does not seem to be her destiny. Nina was not an easy heroine - for me - to connect with at first, but once she comes out of her shell, she shines brightly. She is brave, she is kind, she is not afraid to run towards the fire when others are looking for shelter. She has the inner strength to survive the unimaginable, she just has to be willing to connect with it. Caleb Nash seems to be an easygoing cowboy detective, yet there are more layers to him than meets the first glance. The past drama he and his siblings experienced has left a mark in him. I wanted to know more about the triplets connection to each other, about their survival and healing from kidnapping, yet what left me wanting here might be more in-depth in the upcoming books of the series. The meet-cute between Caleb and Nina has equal doses of heat, humor, and awkwardness. The focus of the story is mostly in the investigation until the desire overwhelms, takes over, and WOW, I felt it to my toes as I was reading about the deepening feelings and passion between Nina and Caleb. The past trauma and the current trouble twine together in Nina's mind and subconscious causing her nightmares. There is a dream scene in the book that had me taking notice - it is so vivid, so dreamlike, and without pointing it out specifically being a dream at first, the author does such a superb job writing about the dream, there is no question in the reader's mind of what is going on. I absolutely loved it! Smalltown vibes and tight family energy - people who stick together during the good times as well as the times of trouble - a town that is facing unexpected arson cases and personal attacks that have the law enforcement on their toes and the Nash family on point. Great summer reading for all who enjoy stories with potent suspense, ardent yet cute romance with delightful characters, in a small-town, cowboy-type world. ~ Four Spoons
Past crimes are the corner stone of this story! With the first book in her Winding Road Redemption series, Tyler Anne Snell introduces us to the Nash family and a bit of the past they have lived through. It makes for an exciting story that I'm sure is only going to grow even more suspenseful as we meet the additional siblings. This book also has a really interesting back story coming into play for Nina that brings the suspense to a head. Really enjoyed their story and looking forward to more to come in the series!
Detective Caleb Nash will always be known by the unsolved kidnapping of his youth that was the turning point for many things in his life. He's dedicated his life to solving crime and helping others in hope that they will someday find the answers that have haunted his family for decades. A new employee at his family ranch is suddenly thrust into a series of suspicious events and he'll stop at nothing to get to the bottom of it!
Nina Drake is thrilled with her new job at the Wild Iris Retreat on the Nash Family Ranch, but when she's suddenly sent an email that creeps her out, she's not sure where to turn. Lucky for her she has a ready-made detective right at her back door and he's raring to get to the bottom of who's terrorizing her ... and why!
Super start to the series - I look forward to hearing the other 2 of the 3 triplets Madi & Desmond’s story as well as their older brother, Declan’s who’s recovering from helping Nina, Story as well!!!
Very nice job with overall concept and 1st book of the series - highly recommend if you like complex plots that are a quick read.
Caleb and Nina find themselves in one crazy mixed up mess that is the brainchild of not one, but two psychos, while it may have given them an alibi when if was needed, and a license to drive Nina fairly certain she was crazy. It wasn’t to much for one set of triplets & older brother Sheriff Declan!
Reining in Trouble by Tyler Anne Snell is the first in the Winding Road Redemption series, about the four Nash siblings. Caleb Nash is a detective, working for his brother the sheriff. Nina Drake is the new event coordinator employed by his family's ranch resort. When it becomes clear Nina is being threatened, Caleb and his family step up not only to protect her but to get to the bottom of the situation.
Tyler Anne Snell's book is a page turner, balancing Caleb and Nina's budding attraction with the increasing urgency as the level of potential danger increases. A fantastic start to this series!
Two souls damaged from things in their pasts draws them together. Nina Drake has an attacker that Caleb Nash is bound and determined to protect her from. A suspenseful read that weaves a tale that keeps you reading it until the end. Tyler Ann Snell creates a web that draws you in and doesn’t let go until the last page. First in a series that has you wanting more.
I was way off with my guess,I wasn't even close.Mystery, thrills, suspense and a nice love interest.Tyler Anne Snell I'll be looking forward to reading more from you.
I accidentally read this book last after reading all the other books in the series so it was interesting to see how all the major characters are originally introduced which is to say, some of them aren't. Maddie and Desmond are barely in this book, but the mystery of this book is really good and serves as a simple introduction to the greater plot threads at hand. This, more than the other books in the series could be a stand alone and I'm glad Snell was able to expand this setting and the cast of characters into 4 books. Not vital for the overall mystery plot, but worth reading if you like Snell's work.
