(for some reason on Goodreads I can find the correct book cover unlike Amazon??! odd?) I am not sure what Nora normally does write? does she do romance or mystery or what? i have read her tons of times, this is NOT my 1st rodeo with her ... why I just said that, i have no clue. I don't actually see the book I got from Walmart, love the cover, I love mystery best ... but Christmas is a very close in there in my must read ... i really enjoyed Gabriel's Angel best ... it was like i felt kind of sad ...more

Gabriel's angel was fantastic and kept me intent on reading the whole time. While I could see where it was headed the drama was a perfect balance. However home for Christmas was far to easy to see the drama from the beginning and was fairly boring.

Really cute holiday themed romances.

I gave this book three stars because this book is comprised of two stories and the longer one just wasn't my cup of tea. I've been a major Nora Roberts fan for probably ten years now (and I'm 23 so thats saying something). But the first story, Gabriel's Angel, just wasn't it. Both characters I found quite dislikable, the after birth just seemed to go too smoothly, and the use of the word 'innocent' was used in excess and for the most silly reason, I thought. This was the only story I have read ...more

In spite of the title the first story had nothing to do with Christmas. Unless I missed a reference somewhere....
That aside, both stories were a solid okay. But neither really raised above that okay either. Ad a whole, it's an okay read, fluffy and easy to get through, whether you read it straight through or are snatching a few pages in between other obligations. Basically while it is not one of her best works, it isn't terrible. I mean, mediocre from her is still an okay read, and definitely

2 books in one:
I really enjoyed both of the novels.
Christmas may have been the common link, but the stories stood alone.
All Gabriel Bradley wants is solitude. But when a very pregnant—and very beautiful—woman ends up at his remote cabin during a blizzard, desperate, alone and on the run, the modern-day Scrooge can't bring himself to turn her away. Despite her intrusion, Laura brings Gabriel the gifts of passion, hope and life—he just needs to find the courage to reach for them.

4.5 out of 5 stars.
Even though the first story in this book, Gabriel's Angel, had nothing to do with Christmas, I still enjoyed the story very much! The characters in both stories were written very well and so was the pacing of the stories. I only wished that the second story in this book, Home For Christmas, was a full length novel. I wasn't ready for it to end, lol. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves romance!

Missing Christmas in the first story, but maybe it was just a winter story. I found the story line was pretty fast. That was a quick romance and Gabriel was really sure of himself. I liked Home for Christmas better, but still found this to be about the same message. Boy wants girl, gets what he wants. I think since these two stories are older that maybe it would be a bit different today.

The title of this bind-up is misleading because the first is 2/3 of this book and doesn’t have anything to do with Christmas. It was a cute story, but could have been more developed in terms of characters and plot. It felt to be more “tell” than “show”.

I’m pretty sure Home for Christmas is also a part of another bind up so that was a reread (one that didn’t hold up well).

Christmas With You features two sweet, holiday spirit filled stories that are sure to tug on your heartstrings and leave you inspired! I picked this one up on a whim, and after diving into it I was so happy it caught my eye!! Loved these characters and their wonderful stories!!

Not my favorite. It was not bad but it didn't have that "hook" that most of her stories. When I looked into it I saw that they were originally published in 1989. It shows how much she has improved over time.

This was a second time around read for me, but still a good one. I love a good Christmas story. I have been enjoying Nora Roberts books since the early 80's.
Both stories were fun to read, just what I needed to get my Holiday Spirit in full swing!

Found this on the shelf when looking for a good Christmas story to get me in the holiday spirit. This book was actually two which I didn't pick up on when I first grabbed it. Each story drew me in and had me turning pages to see what was going to happen.

A little Christmastime escapism, but not her best work by a long shot. One was a regular length novel, the other a novella. The relationships in both of them seemed rushed to me.

Cute holiday romance novel to set the tone for the season.
On the predictable side for what I can normally expect from Nora Roberts, but it was a light easy read leading up to the holidays

Sweet heart-warming stories for the season.

The first story, Gabriel’s Angel was a 1-2 star review and the second story, Home for Christmas was a 3. Had it been drawn out longer it would have dropped a star or two. Easy read for the holidays.

Overall: 2 stars.

Gabriel's Angel (2.5 stars)
I thought this story was ultimately ok, but I can't say it's a favorite. While part of the point was the rush, I felt like the story was missing a lot of meat. The closest comparison I can think of is a sandwhich with a thin slice of meat and mile-high amount of cheese, when all you wanted was the frickin' meat. I enjoyed what I saw of Gabriel and Laura as characters, but I enjoy what I think they could have been more. This was my first Nora Roberts
Gabriel's Angel: Sweet with underlying issues of abuse that will show up in more depth in her later books. Laura is slow to trust Gabriel at some levels and quick at other levels, which I found somewhat disconcerting, since I felt the physical side would have been the last area in which she would regain her trust. It seems to have been the earliest and far too soon to not cause some ripples of disquiet in the reader. I loved the descriptions of the artist working however and especially loved the ...more
A very enjoyable & heartwarming Christmas Romance. I really enjoy the way Ms. Roberts writes. There were 2 stories in this book the first was my favorite. Gabriel & Laura were a very enjoyable couple to spend time with. I really liked how Gabriel didn't hesitate to love & care for Laura even though she was pregnant with another man's child. He made sure that Laura & her son were taken care of & protected so she didn't have to run anymore. Her ex in-laws were trying to take ...more

Good stories about passion, hope, life and love.
Gabriel's Angel - Gabriel wants solitude after a tragedy in his life. Laura is looking for a safe haven to protect herself and her unborn child. During a winter storm, she runs her car off the road and is rescued by Gabriel. They
have to learn to trust each other to gain their life back.

Home for Christmas - Jason Law has been abroad for years. He returns home for Christmas to win the heart of the girl he left behind. Faith is raising her daughter

Two stories in this book- too be honest, I didn't read the second one. I like long books, not short stories. The story of Laura and Gabe was a good one- tho it seemed to have ended abruptly. I would've liked for there to be more spent on the resolution. Still a good love story if you like that sorta thing. :)

I've read both stories included before & reading them again was like snuggling up with a warm cup of cocoa or tea. Gabriel's Angel was a great story for the holidays. Home for Christmas was a short story to get you in the mood for Christmas. You can't go wrong with a Nora Roberts book!
Oh my goodness happy tears! Both books in this book were WONDERFUL! Gabriel's Angel made me smile and laugh, filled with warm fuzzies. Home For Christmas made me laugh and cry happy, sentimental, tears. What a wonderfully powerful emotion love is! How lucky I am to experience it. :-)
