    I've given this a B+ at AAR, so that's 4.5 stars.

Lara Temple, one of the strongest on the current roster of Harlequin/Mills & Boon Historical authors, begins her new  Sinful Sinclairs  series with The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge, the first of three stories about siblings whose irresponsible, ne’er-do-well forebears have tarnished the family name and put a blemish on the reputation of the younger generation.  It’s a terrific read that hooked me in right from the start as our sarcastic, worl

Taut, emotional and craftily crafted, The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge will rivet you from start to end. Brilliant storytelling and adept characters who will never bore you, will leave you wanting more long after you reach the end. Lara Temple has always been one of my fave historical romance authors and she hasn’t disappointed me once. Kudos on a job well done. The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge is a keeper!

Well, what can say about this? Fantastic, wonderful, sexy, charming, entertaining, engaging in other words absolutely bloody brilliant! What a fabulous start to what is set to be another fantastic series by one of my whole time favourite authors. The Sinful Sinclairs as anyone who has been avidly reading Ms Temples books will know are a sort of follow on from the previous series; Wild Lords and Innocent Ladies, as the hugely seductive Sinclairs are the cousins of none other than the those Wild L ...more

First in a new series called The Sinful Sinclairs, the three books are planned to focus on the three Sinclair siblings. Lucas, Lord Sinclair, comes first. And to be honest, I wasn’t at all sure why he was called Lord Sinful; though the heroine, Olivia, is spooked by him at first, it seems to be because of a reputation that isn’t that different to any other lord in London. Lord Sinclair doesn’t prey on virgins or the defenceless; his mistresses are experienced and know exactly what they’re gettin ...more

Olivia Silverdale is in London, not to catch a husband as her chaperon thinks, but to solve a mystery. She is convinced her guardian's death is not as it appears and that his name has been smeared and while researching she has uncovered information that may clear the name of another man that was unjustly vilified, Howard Sinclair. She hopes by contacting his family, she will not only help them, but will learn new information about Henry's death. She summons (there really is no other wor

When Miss Olivia Silverdale decided to clear her godfather Henry’s name, she was going to do everything she could to succeed. She had found a note that tied Henry to the Sinclairs, so she summons Lucas, the Earl Sinclair. Helping her might also prove to be to his family’s advantage, as his father had suffered a scandalous demise. Lucas wants no part of the charade, but Olivia is more persuasive than he ever anticipated, and against his better judgement, he agrees. He also hopes her quest doesn’t ...more
The Earl's Irresistible Challenge is the first book in a new series, "The Sinful Sinclairs" by author Lara Temple. I've been waiting for this one since I first heard about the Sinclairs in a previous book of Ms. Temple's and I must say it was well worth the wait! It was absolutely perfect and I loved every moment of it. What a fantastic start to what I expect to be an excellent series.

Lucas is reluctantly the Earl of Sinclair after the infamous death of his father in a duel. Chase and Samantha h

The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge is a captivating read and had me hooked from the very start.

The characters are engaging and endearing, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with Lucas or his brother Chase, who will have his own story. The mystery surrounding the Sinful Sinclairs is intriguing and combined with Olivia’s investigations about her godfather, the story keeps the reader gripped throughout. The chemistry between Lucas and Olivia lights up the pages. Lucas has an air of mystery abou

Another awesome book from Ms Temple, truly beautiful and fantastic read as always.
Our hero and feisty heroine most definitely perfect for each other come together through tragedy and a little stubbornness, they each have a backstory to be sure and that most definitely makes them who they become for their journey to their happy ever after, i can honestly say ive giggled cried and een outraged for them both but absolutely love how their lives next chapters begin.

Thank you for writing it dear lady

I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This is a new to me author, and my am I going to be catching up with their back catalogue...while pursuing Chase of course. More of him later.

This book was part romance, spies and the thrill of a mystery to solve. There was tension, cloak and dagger stuff as well as sometimes hilarious game of dress up! I really enjoyed both the characters of Olivia and Lucas and the dynamic between them.

Great historic romance. I love Olivia's character, so smart and analytical. Sinclair has a reputation as a rake but he is honorable in his heart and mind. They make a great team solving the mystery involving his father. The twists kept me reading.
    Great job.

“The Sinful Sinclair’s are dangerous. You are out of your depth.”

Investigating the death of her Godfather, Olivia Silverdale stumbles on a link to the death of Howard Sinclair, and decides she needs to tell his son Lucas about her discovery.
Readers of the author’s previous book (the excellent ‘Lord Stanton’s Last Mistress’) will recall several mentions of the Sinclair’s and their feud with the Stanton’s, and the reader is now being treated to a new series about the ‘Sinful Sinclairs.’

Lara Temple brings us another delightful romantic adventure between the bold and irrestible heiress Olivia Silverdale and the sinful Lord Lucas Sinclair.

Olivia has always felt fond and obliged towards her family and friends, but an unexpected turn in the life of her godfather leads him to his death and stains his reputation. However, a letter found among his things shows Olivia everything could have been a misunderstanding and she sets off to the city to find out the truth... but in a weird, fun

Lara Temple is a wordsmith and storyteller par excellence. Lucas and Olivia spring from the pages of their book and come to life as you read.

This is, of course, a Harlequin/Mills & Boon story so it has to be relationship driven but you can tell there are many layers below the surface that Ms. Temple is simply dying to show us. Perhaps we will discover some of those layers in Chase and Sam’s stories.

If you haven’t already read any of Lara Temple’s novels, then The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge is a great place to start and will likely result in purchasing her complete back catalog. A truly enjoyable, wonderfully-written romance, building on a side character from the Wild Lords and Innocent Ladies Trilogy.

Lucas Sinclair believes himself content, if not happy, to live under the shadow of his scandalous father, until he finds himself drawn by the irresistible Olivia into a mystery that may ult

This is an intense and powerful romance. The author has artfully crafted a story that takes the reader on a fascinating and refined journey and shows a deft hand with her delicate and perceptive handling of emotions. But those kisses deserve special mention – devastating and addictive. Ms Temple has created a gorgeous hero in Lucas, one of my all-time favourites. I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

I started reading this book on the heels of the review of another regency romance. So I wasn't sure what to expect but the story was interesting enough to keep me going.

The beginning actually had me questioning the protagonists. It was clear the heroine, Olivia was a bit mad for her scheme and the hero, Lucas wasn't as cynical as he thought himself. But I came to like them quite well enou

The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge was a fantastic read, one that I thoroughly enjoyed. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was really captivated by her writing. The story flowed really well and I loved how rich and detailed the authors writing was. One of my favourite things about reading historical romance’s is when the authors write in detail about the time periods

The Earl’s Irresistible Challenge by Lara Temple had a mild mystery that connected Lucas, Earl of Sinclair and his family to Olivia Silverdale and her family thru a set of one-sided letters. They work together to figure out the connection and its importance to their families. They both have some back story trust issues to work thru before they find their HEA.
This is the first book by this author I have read, and the rest of the Sinful Sinclair books are about Lucas’ siblings Chase and Sam. I’m

I don't like supercilious heroes, or women who do. I also don't like it when authors try to convince us it's all a mask for true love.

I didn't get very far with this - the hero was hiding while our heroine masqueraded as a medium - and I don't know if I'll ever finish it.
