Fun is what Shelley Anderson is trying to provide for her two young children when she rents the first floor of Sea View House a year after a painful divorce. The kids haven't been adjusting well, and the house is perfect. She's not sure about perfection, however, after she meets Daniel Stone, the man who's renting the top floor of the house. A man who's

I thought #1 in this Pilgrim Cove series was great. This one is even better, I think. Wow...great characters, and a plot that won't let you go. Ms Barrett is a gifted writer. I have loved her other works, and I've bought the 3 remaining books in this series after getting the first one free.

There is something about this town and especially Sea View House, it has a magically quality. It seems to heal people and helps them find the best qualities in themselves. With this book it was the same. Daniel just wanted peace and quiet, Shelly needed time with her kids to really heal from her divorce. I loved seeing Daniel and Shelly fall for each other, how the town and Shelly's kids were involved. But I think the best was how Daniel had Shelly's back when he ex started being an ass and thre ...more

Thoroughly Enjoyable Read

I started reading some days after buying a few books, and had forgotten the story line. Having had a recent diagnosis that will require surgery, I wasn't sure I wanted to read the book at this time. However, I started it and seemed to move right into the beach house with the main character. The book ran the scale of emotions from dealing with the loss of a loved one while dealing with one's own mortality to dealing with both a lost love and a new life. I can't wait to re

Very good, 5 stars

The first book was a free download, I wanted to read something totally different from my usual genre and I'm glad I stumbled on the first book. So when I wanted to read something else again, this second in the series was perfect. Story kept you interested, good characters again, little appearances from the first book characters was well done. Just a really good, easy going book, that surprisingly keeps you engaged in the story. When the Times comes again, I'll read the third!

Simply Perfect...

Such a lovely story.

Shelley and Dan's story was perfect and Linda wrote a beautiful story of two people finding each other and to top it off they came along with two lovely kids and a golden retriever!

Couldn't ask for anything more in a story.

Nicely written romance, a delightful summer read. One or two improbable plot twists, but still good enough to tug at your heart strings a few times. Good work by Lina Barret.

Loving this series. Shelley brings her two kids to Pilgrim Cove for a vacation after a divorce. She rents a place by the sea. Her upstairs neighbor is Daniel, a professor at Harvard. He hasnt been able to move on after the death of his wife a few years earlier. He and his golden retriever, Jessie, are looking forward to a quiet vacation on the shore. Pretty soon he's spending time with Shelley and her kids, Josh and Emily. Then both of them are thrown a curve when Shelley's ex, Carl, decides to ...more

For those of you who are long time fans of Ms Barrett, be aware that this is a re-print, but a story that is worth revisiting.
For those that are new to her stories, you will fall in love with not only our main characters, Shelley and Daniel, but also with all the inhabitants of Pilgrim Cove. Especially the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) , who like to meddle.
While others will give you a summary of the story, I will tell you that the plot is not only entertaining, but also uplifting. Even tho

After reading Matt and Linda’s story, I had to read the next book. “No Ordinary Summer” did not disappoint. Pilgrim’s Cove is a delightful coastal town where those that are suffering, have the chance to renew themselves (with the help of the ROMEOs, of course). I loved Daniel and Sea Shell’s (Shelly) story. Not only did Shelly and Daniel heal, Josh and Emily (Shelly’s children) get a new chance at some fun and happiness. Just delightful!

Great summer read

Easy to follow with a few twists and turns. Well written page turner. Pilgrim Cove sounds like my kind of place! Who wouldn't want to meet a tall hunky professor!

Exciting, and a page turner. A must read.

Terrific book, so far this series of stories is great. It's not an insipid love story. The characters are realistic and have depth to them. They actually are very believable. Get the books and read, you'll love them. A clean story line.
