I loved this story. I read the first story about Blaise and Grace about a year ago and fell in love with the characters and the town, Heritage River. This story brings back Blaise, Grace, and Cash as supporting characters in the story of Colton and Harley. It's a story of second chance love and a shocking secret.

I devoured this book because of the story and the characters. The story kept me interested. It was far more than a typical romance. It's got small towns, a famous celebrity who is more l

I read a Hidden Gems early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I so very much enjoyed this book about second chances and new beginnings. The characters leap off the page while the storyline alternately breaks your heart, gives you hope for second chances, and strips you bear with its earnest writing. Colton Savage is a washed-up, alcoholic rock star with an ego the size of Texas and an attitude that knocks you over with his audacity and vulnerability. He's home after 18 years bec ...more

I really liked this book which is well written, very realistic, with a very good description of the feelings, situations and relationships between the characters.
The start is a bit long and slow, but as simple as the story is at the beginning, the author managed to catch me and keep me to the end. I think the impression of slowness comes from the fact that the installation of the two main characters and the description of their life context before they meet again, takes a few chapters.

Musician Colton and single mom and art teacher Harley are forty something characters whose lives have been intertwined since they were teens. Their young romance fell victim to his dreams of finding fame as a rockstar; a life in which he made no room for Harley except when it was convenient for him. Harley genuinely desired for Colton to fulfill his dreams but her her heart ached at how easily he could walk away again and again. Now many years later, his fading career and some deep soul searchin ...more

Colton Savage, rock star, unwillingly returns to town after a stint in rehab. Anger at his brother and alcohol put a hold on his career and now he has to get back on track. Running in to Harley Kenyon, the girl he left behind, was not on his list but his nephew, Cash, engineers their first meeting. Harley is teaching art at the local school and raising her teenage son, Knox. She also teaches a special art class for those in need of a way to express their feelings and emotions. Harley was not rea ...more

There are a lot of big emotions in this book, and they all hit with the impact of a speeding freight train. Normally there aren’t enough words in the English language to describe how much I dislike “secret baby” stories. I was very impressed by this one. It’s very easy to see and empathise with what drove Harley. Since what we see of Colton isn’t always flattering, and even he admits to behaving like a jerk a lot of the time, I can’t completely fault her for the choices she made. I’m a sucker fo ...more

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the pace, that we had time to get to know the characters and really invest in their issues. The secret baby storyline was dealt with believably, and I’m not usually a fan of secret baby stories. I loved that the rock star wasn’t at the height of his game and made mistakes—lots of them!—but that the heroine wasn’t perfect either. There wasn’t instant resolution; they had to learn a few lessons each to get to their HEA. A perfect blend of women’s fiction and rom ...more

The Bridge Home is the second book in the Heritage River Series and, so far, my favorite! I loved sexy, bad boy (and washed-up rock star) Colton Savage and feisty, single mother Harley. When the two of them are together, watch out! I'd love to tell you one of my favorite scenes with the two of them, but don't want to give away any spoilers. Harley's love for her son was heartwarming and her secret heart-wrenching. I stayed up until 1 in the morning to finish reading this book. I'm looking forwar ...more

Harley has a secret to keep. The author makes it pretty obvious what that secret is without actually saying it until about 2/3 of the way through the book. Harley definitely is the strong one in this pair. Colton is the weaker one who tends to run when the going gets tough. Characters are pretty well developed however I didn't really like Colton. I really wanted to just smack him upside the head and tell him to pull it out of his butt. Story is slow but easy to follow. Scenery descriptions are g ...more

He was a rock star and she is a teacher. These two shared a past that yielded a secret she's been harboring through out the life of her son. Her uncle has died and Colton is back in town. Now it looks like her secret is about to come out. Will the two men involved be able to forgive her transgression? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

The good storyline and well rounded characters grabbed my attention from the very first page and wouldn't let me go until I finished reading the very last page! This was the first book that I have read from this author and it definitely will not be the last!

I thought this was a sweet and romantic second chance love story. She let him go to live his dream. Now he is back. Will her secret tear them apart? I enjoyed their story as they worked through their feelings and also the secondary characters additions to the story. Huge fan of the town and hope to read more stories set there.

From an early age, Stacey Wilk told tales as a way to escape. At six she wrote short stories in composition notebooks, at twelve she wrote a novel on a typewriter, in high school biology she wrote rock star romances in her binder instead of paying attention.

But it wasn’t until many years later, inspired by her children and a looming birthday, that she finally took her story-telling seriously. And
