Not a bad story about two fellows meeting up on a matched date. I like the fact the relationship was steady then them just jump right onto the next stage! Although there was a little misunderstanding but both Bois understood each other so yeah again, the story is good enough!
I have no idea why I didn't read this sooner!! It's by the same person who did Rutta to Kodama, which is one of my all-time favorite mini-BL series. And this one is just as soft and wholesome as that one!
In this story, we follow two older men who end up going to a matchmaking event hosted at a bar owned by a recently married gay couple. After matching up, the two go on a few dates and talk about their aspirations for the future and just ADORABLE. It lacks all the desperation and need of sex that your usual yaoi manga features with younger dudes (though there is sex). And I just really enjoyed that it featured something that I don't really see in BL titles: gay marriage and logical planning of a future
In a word: Read the thing. This is a bit of a different sort of yaoi manga. For me, anyway. I haven’t really come across any other yaoi that focuses so completely on marriage; possibly because it wasn’t an option for so long. Anyway, Ryousuke is 29 years old and really wants to settle down with someone and start a family. He has a hard time meeting people on the same page, so he decides to go to a matchmaking party held by his newly-married friend. That’s where he meets Shun. Ryousuke and Shun pick each other as matches at the end of the party and so decide to start dating with the goal of marriage. This story is pretty go-with-the-flow and calming, with really only one scene with any drama. Ryousuke and Shun take some time to get to know each other and decide whether they think they’d like to spend their lives together. Over the course of a few dates, Ryousuke realizes that he’s starting to fall in love with Shun, and that he actually would like to get married to him. The whole focus of the story is on Ryousuke and Shun slowly feeling each other out and growing closer. It’s not really a slow-burn, but it’s definitely slower than the average romance. Or maybe that it’s just a case where the feelings start growing after the couple gets together instead of the other way around. Either way, it’s a smooth, calm read with some good messages and a good romance. This tone even extends to the sex scenes between Ryousuke and Shun (of which there are two). There’s also a bit of humour injected here and there with Ryousuke’s friend, who is pretty unapologetically shameless. It’s great. (This manga has only been released in Japanese, though there are unofficial English translations available online.)
Ryosuke Ogitsu will soon be turning 30, so he decides it's time he finds a man to settle down with and attends a speed dating event hosted by his friend Kirito. He's looking for a partner who's only interested in men. He meets Shun Kariya, a man with beautiful eyes who gazes earnestly at Ryosuke from behind his long bangs… Their relationship starts off a little slow and awkward, but they gradually close the distance between themselves. Ryosuke starts feeling like Shun might be the one, not realizing that Shun's got a big secret…!
If we forget all the pressure from families and society, do you still have a dream of having a marriage? Even if you don't have a specific person to love at the moment? A lonely story of two lonely guys who are desperate to enter a marriage. Not a bad one, tbh.
