He was the last thing she thought she needed, but she was everything he wanted.

Abused and alone, Kitty had no idea how far she’d have to flee after she finally got the courage to run. She never would have guessed she’d end up halfway around the world, or in the home — much less the arms — of dominant Australian whip-master, Noah Carver.

He knows she’s damaged, that she need

From the first page, this book drew me in. Maren Smith has written a book that is intense, dramatic and heart wrenching. Kitty has escaped Ethan, her abusive ex, and is now with Noah, who we met briefly in another Black Light story. He takes her to his home and slowly starts to try and heal her damaged heart. And man, is it damaged. This story made me laugh, cry, get pissed off and get my hopes up for Kitty to realize just how wonderful she really is. Hated Ethan with a passion and fell in love ...more

First I want to say that I have not read the previous books and I think I may have missed a few things but I caught on fairly quickly and I was blown away! I mean the BDSM world is so fascinating to begin with. Being submissive is not something I would do so I would be Dom because I am a little bossy and I like it how I like.

Kitty poor Kitty my heart went out to her because she got an ahole of a Dom and he treated her like shizz. She is a damaged soul because of this man and she is afraid to be

I really liked the storyline and the characters here. The abuse Kitty suffered at the hands of Ethen will tear your heart out. And Noah's struggle to figure out how best to help her is wonderful to see. While I think it unrealistic to take someone who's gone through that kind of abuse almost immediately into a new relationship with no counseling, etc., it works. Kitty needs to be submissive to someone. Noah is there and he helps her see that submission is part of who she is.

I had some issues wit

I love the Black Light books for so many reasons. I mean, not only are you getting some screaming hot sex, you are also getting a great storyline. You are also getting the chance to read a whole lot of authors that are all writing in the same world. Maren Smith is the latest entry into that world. She wrote a story in the Roulette Redux anthology, and this book comes out of that story.

While this story does come out of the story that Maren Smith wrote for that set, it's not the same main couple

This book was truly intense. I was absolutely in Camp Noah and Kitty. I disliked Ethen in Shameless, and the dislike only grew in Fearless. He was brutal.

There were a couple of surprises. One being Kitty being, well "Kitty". I was so not expecting that one. Admittedly, I don't get the whole kitty thing, but whatever floats your boat and makes you happy as a consenting adult.

The Noah/Ethen scene was priceless. I did wonder about the fallout from that incident. I also enjoyed the Kitty/Ethen airp

I just have to say there are major trigger warnings for the beginning of the book. It does contain intense pet play and really strong detailed extreme abuse. It’s heart breaking and just brutal and hard to read but once you get through it it’s...a beautiful story of aftercare and healing. This isn’t like any of the other books by the author. It’s very unique and has an interesting storyline. It isn’t scorching hot like some of her other books but it does have some hot scenes. Noahs scenes with h ...more

My heart be still!! My emotions are all over the place as this book just completely and utterly entranced me from beginning to end. The story of Noah and Kitty will pull at your heartstrings and you will want to know more and more about them. Kitty was in a relationship with a Dom that didn’t end very well and she needed to get away. With the help of her friends, she went to stay with Noah in Australia for a little while. Noah, while a Dom, isn’t interested in a relationship, but wants to help K ...more

WOW, what an intense book! It started from page 1 and it didn't end. This is my first read by this author and I did enjoy it. It was quite an experience and revelation to be in the character's point of view. I wanted to kill Ethan. I loved Noah and his patience, he knew exactly what Kitty needed and he gave it to her, it just took her a little longer to realize it. This is the deepest experience I've had in this genre and I will keep coming back. I love the Black Light Series, there is always so ...more

This is a fabulous and HOT Black Light book. I had all the feels going in this book and all from a sexy brooding dominant and I felt this book straight into my bones. Must must must read if you are looking for a new BDSM book

I was mesmerized by the story in this book. I could not comprehend what the main character went through and I commend the author for putting her imagination into words which were very hard to read and made it believable. I thought that the book was suspenseful, horrific, mind-blowing, tender, loving, and compassionate. How does a reviewer see all of that in one book? It was because the author wrote a compelling book which played out beautifully as each character was introduced into the story. Sh ...more

What a great story, I was drawn in almost from the first word and had to read it all before I could go to bed. The chemistry was amazing and the evil nature of Ethen was hard to comprehend, but unfortunately there are more like him. I laughed at the spider story and the education about Australia's wildlife was an interesting element to the story. I hope there will be more stories about Noah and Kitty as she heals and their relationship matures. A wonderful heartwarming book.

The Black Light series is phenomenal and Fearless by Maren Smith was fabulous.
Noah and Kitt's story pulled at my emotions. Kitty survived an abusive relationship with a bad Dom and found love with Noah in the most unusual circumstances.
Kitty broke my heart with her struggles of being a "good girl". Her struggles are so real the readers heart breaks when she internalized her fears and her lack of self esteem become stronger than logic.

Blacklight: Fearless by Maren Smith is the first book of this series that I have read, and man what an introduction! This book is an incredible story, and I was sucked in from the beginning and could not stop. If you’ve ever dealt with someone, or have dealt yourself, who has had to come through an abusive relationship (whether it involve BDSM or not), then you will be able to relate to Kitty and her story.

This book starts off with an intense scene involving the main character – Kitty – escapin

I fell down the rabbit hole of the Black Light series about a month and a half ago. I was charmed by the MMF ménage book, Infamous Love by Livia Grant, and I couldn’t stop reading. As of today, there are two series. Black Light Fearless is the second book (theoretically) in the second series. Even more interesting is that each book is written by a different author, writers who are connected under Black Collar Press. Overall, this series is grounded in the BDSM club founded by the three character ...more

Black Light: Fearless is my first book by this author and this book captured my interested from the very first page.

This book is intense, gripping, and so intriguing.

I haven't read a book quite like this one and I'm glad that I did! It grips at your heart and tugs and tugs and tugs. I went through an array of emotions: happy, sad, enraged, and hopeful. I will say that there are trigger warnings for this, especiall

An amazing story of love and hope

Wow Maren Smith hit the ball right out of the park with this Black Light book. We very, very, briefly met Kitty at the end of Shameless, Hadlee and Garreth's story in the Black Light Valentine Redux anthology. We also met Noah in this story, though Fearless can very easily be read as a stand-alone. However that brief glimpse of Kitty and Noah left me desperate for more of their story, so I was hugely excited when this landed on my kindle.

OMG! I LOVE this author. This is the first actual book written by her that I have read, and I loved every single word. I was torn between taking a break to make the story last longer and NEVER putting it down, so I could continue to immerse myself in this frightening, yet erotic, exciting, and pleasure filled story.

In this book, Maren Smith used her phenomenal writing skill to make me feel the terrifying anticipation experienced by Kitty, a submissive. From the very first sentence, fear began t

Maren Smith’s “Black Light: Fearless” was an amazing story of second chances. Kitty has been through something horrific, but she gains the courage to flee and ends up flying halfway around the world to get away from an abusive relationship and hopefully find her true self once again. Noah Carver takes in the frightened woman who has more than PTSD and what ensues is a tenuous relationship that is much like pulling apart silken threads without breaking them because each piece is precious.

Kitty finally gets away from Ethen, but he continually finds ways to get to her, with her friends seeing the only way for her to recover and feel safe they send her to their friend Noah, in Australia. Arriving Kitty feels trapped, there’s no where to go, but Ethen can’t find her here.
Noah’s never felt a connection, he saw her submissive needs trapped, the problem was she wasn’t anyone’s, he had an idea of how to help her but had to take it slowly.

Brilliant...I want more!!!

I love the Black Light authors and Maren Smith has such a way with her stories that you can't help but fall for her characters. When we were left on such a cliffhanger in Black Light Redux, I was eager to see what would happen with Kitty, Hadlee, Gareth and Noah and I have to say, this isn't what I expected but I LOVED it anyway!

This one is definitely Kitty and Noah's tale and it is emotional, hard hitting and very sexy! I enjoyed how these two grew together after such

I need to know how to rate a book more than five stars on a scale of one to five. This book was a perfect ten. The novella Shameless left us with a cliff-hanger I’ve been dying to see the end of for months. Like everything else I’ve read in the Black Light universe, this book goes to some very dark places in order to show us the light. If it doesn’t already it should probably come with a trigger warning because there’s definitely stuff in here that’s very hard to read. But it also spotlights the ...more

Really good story

Although in the end I kind of wanted to throttle Kitty she pulled it off in the end with flying colors and made me laugh... I absolutely loved Noah but I swear he almost reminded me of a British man not a Austrailian Crocodile Dundee man the way he spoke sounded nothing like an Australian granted I've not been around many but Crocodile Dundee was one of my all time favorites but I mean I know blokey is a word they use often I don't recall them using the word Yeah a lot and a bu

So, it seems like we've been waiting FOREVER for the Ethan/Kitty cliffhanger from Black Light: Valentine's Roulette Redux to be resolved. Like, nail-biting, keep thinking about it every other week kinda waiting. Maren Smith did a wonderful job bringing Garreth and Hadlee together, but I have to be honest, I didn't see Noah coming to the rescue for Kitty!
I don't do spoilers, but I will say you might be thinking and speaking in Aussie by the time you've finished the book. My brain was wired into t

It has been so long since a book delved into that truly dark place, where there are no rules, and people are completely broken, and this book went there, and I was hooked from the first car ride to the last! I loved that this was no holds-barred broken, because it made the desperation real, true, and the feelings even more intense.

Kitty had been warped by her experiences and didn't see anything wrong with that. Noah knew where she was, and he wanted to give her what she needed, but knew it woul

Black Light: Fearless starts off on the brutal, trigger-inducing extremes of abuse under the guise of BDSM and we slowly see the fall and rise of Kitty as she deals with the aftermath of her trauma and attempt at healing. Noah, the whip master Dom, steps in to try and restore Kitty's own self worth and also give her what she needs to feel safe and be able to release her demons. The realistic and very thorough way in which Kitty's emotional injuries and recovery were addressed makes this book a 5 ...more

Maren Smith weaved a tremendous story for all to read!!

Maren has given me all of the feelings with this book. This book was an emotional roller coaster ride that I am sorry has came to an end. At first, I was about ready to put the book down, I was seeing red at how much of an $&@@$) Ethen was to Kitty and how he treated her, I was almost at a stopping point. But I pushed through, lived the trauma with Kitty and cried with her through the horror she endured. I kept cheering for Kitty and Noa

What a riveting continuation of Shameless from Roulette Redux!
When Kitty is finally able to get away from her tormentor after the disaster at Blacklight, her journey to restore her broken mind and body begins.
While still in Hadlee and Garreth's care she does not show any signs of improvement, but just withers away. As a last resort Garreth contacts Noah, the Australian whipmaster, for his advice. And a couple weeks later Kitty is on her way to Australia to "relax and heal".But that proves extrem

Before you start this book make sure you are free to spend the day reading because you won't want to put it down. The story is intense, passionate, brutal in some places, and HOT. The way Kitty deals with the abuse she experienced is honest, which can make it a trigger for someone who has been in an abusive relationship, and seeing her strength develop over time gives hope. Maren Smith is able to capture all of that pain, fear, anger, hope, passion, and love in a way that makes it feel like you ...more

Love! I was thrilled that we got to hear Kitty's story after the cliffhanger at the end of Garreth and Hadlee's story! Maren Smith does a great job entwining two characters from her previous book!

Kitty is an abused submissive who has left her Dom and her old life behind. This is something that she struggles with as she doesn't feel understood and is afraid to open up about it. Her friend Hadlee and Hadlee's Dom Garreth want to get her out of her ex Dom's sight. Garreth reaches out to his friend
