2019 Book Hoarders Challenge: Has water on the cover
Keystone Village is NOT your cozy little village>|: The whole town time hops. The residents, often from different eras, are a lot who do not encourage people to stay. Ella, the only person from the 21st century, is staying until she can find a way to return to her own time. But she has a problem in Keystone: She keeps finding bodies.
A local man is concerned about the energy being used by the town (justly so) and wants to add 16 new wind turbines. He is opposed by just as many as those who want the increased energy. However, when Kate and Will go to test out Will's newest invention, a scuba diving outfit(the town is in the 1950s Romania in this story), the morning after the contentious town meeting, they find a body in the boat, Stan's bod.
Much to the chagrin of the sheriff (who is from the Old American West) and despite his warnings, Ella begins investigating and stirring up issues. Lots of twists and turns, but I find their is a logical strategy for what they do.
What I like: I like the town time hopping. I like they realize they have to conscious of their resources and don't mind conservative measures. I like they problem solve. I actually like the characters. I like the code of ethics the townsfolk, for the most part, have. It's just a great storyline!
I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first one. It had been a few months in between, and I'd really have appreciated it if the author had taken just a few more sentences to remind us of who all the secondary characters.
I'm also not clear on how they are getting some of their supplies since they are mostly afraid to leave the boundaries because they don't want to get left behind in a bad time or place. Some things are explained as being grown in greenhouses, but how to they get gas for the cars? Coffee? Laundry detergent? The chemicals for women to have permanents or hair dye at the local salon?
I think the author dropped a few clues about who or what might be behind the time jumps—but I could be wrong.
Since the books are available through Kindle Unlimited, I'll keep reading the series for awhile longer. I hope the next book is less confusing.
Another fun and entertaining time/place travel entry. The big flash doesn't give any warning and, unless someone is bravest to venture forth for supplies, and possibly being stranded, the travelers are never sure where the will end up. With a fear that the wind turbines are going to start being insufficient to supply Keystone Village, a suggestion to build new turbines is made. Unfortunately, the location suggested is not amenable to all, and the next day the man making the suggestion ends up dead in the middle of the lake in Will's boat. Will is experimenting with a modified scuba tank, and is asked to go in the water to see if there are any clues. Low and behold, he finds a skeleton that has been in the lake a long time. This leaves more than one mystery to solve. The colorful characters inhabiting Keystone make for delightful and clue solving reading.
Enjoyable cozy mystery. Enjoying this Traveling Town Mystery series so far. Great characters and mystery. With the town heading toward a potential energy crisis and the discovery of a body in a boat, there's plenty of exciting mystery in The Body in the Boat. Recommend this series.
This is a humorous mystery series with some romance. It's highly entertaining with a great story line and characters. I believe I'm hooked, waiting to read the next one.

The Body in the Boat (A Traveling Town Mystery Book 2
This was another winner. This Author has a great imagination. She writes a great cast of characters. I highly recommend this Author if you love time traveling mysteries. Diana Romano.
Omg...so good and so funny ..a great cast of characters ...so glad I found these books..will be reading the rest of them..thank you Ami Diane for a great read!
These are just the funniest reads. When not one, but two bodies appear, suspicions start to fly. Ella just HAS to solve the case. Her new friendships are teetering and they are all she has in their strange little burg. I think the idea of a traveling town is very imaginative. I still don't get how they stay self sufficient in regards to clothing, medicines, toilet paper? I know that runners are sent out after each flash if the outlying area is deemed tenable, but it would mean buying a big mixture of sizes, styles, antibiotics, pantry items. And where are the kids? Have no children been caught up in a flash? I would recommend this book, but the series should be read in order or you'll have no clue what's going on.
