I purchased this encyclopedia so that my young son could look at photos of a variety of trains, but the book would be an excellent resource for train-lovers of any age. The entries are thorough and precise, to the point where the reader may find the text a bit dry if he is not already passionately interested in the topic at hand. A multitude of gorgeous photos and illustrations accompany the text.
