Being one of the most formidable archangels with the power to end the world doesn't serve you well if you don't know how to use it.

Thrown into a battle of courts and factions, tangled in a web of intrigues and palatial games, naïve Ariel is surrounded by powerful angels, chasing their own agendas.

There's no one she can trust. Everyone stands to gain something from her deat

Before I start this review, if you have not read Heavenward, do not continue reading this review. I try my best to avoid spoilers, but as this is the second book in this series, there will inevitably be spoilers. Alright, you've been warned.

Hallow immediately picks up right where we left off from Heavenward. While I personally appreciate this because I literally finished Heavenward and started Hallow, this may pose a problem for those who read Heavenward a while ago and may not remember all of

This is a YA fantasy tale, about young Ariel….learning how to be an angel and all that entails. She’s getting used to her beautiful purple wings…..but still has to ask Rafe(Raphael) how she can get undressed for a shower……(clothes just pass through them luckily)…..

She also finds out she no longer needs to eat but that doesn’t stop her eating the odd sweet now and then…..strawberry laces or refreshers!

She’s gone home to find her sister, but the family have moved away…..Rafe had promised Jess woul

The story took a turn I wasn’t expecting at all.. and left me sobbing quite a few time, alone in the darkness of my room 🙈 Even though i’m older than her, I kinda wish I’d have Ariel’s strength of mind – she really is an awesome character all over, even with her rage.

Herself and Rafe has that brother/sister attitude I cannot u

Hallow begins as we re-join protagonist Ariel and her sworn protector Rafe as they embark on a journey to find Ariel’s younger sister back in Apkallu (Earth to you and me!). Tired and weary Ariel is still trying to process the revelations that have spun her seemingly mundane existence on its axis and make some sense out of her new situation. Feeling like she has been away from her home forever Ariel takes a while to re-acclimatise herself with her surroundings, but soon realises the boundaries b ...more

So straight after I finished Heavenwards, I had to jump straight back in with Hallow. I did not want to be apart from the characters or the action for too long! Ah, how long am I to wait for the next one though??

Anyway back to Ariel, she is still struggling with her inner demons and her good ole pal Rage is making a lot of appearances! Ariel hurt me near the opening of the book when she viciously attacked Rafe(verbally!). Now do not get me wrong, she is not coping, she is acting out and you real

Essentially, Hallow is a story about family and the lengths we go to protect those of us we love. Hallow begins as we re-join Ariel and protector Rafe back on Earth. Ariel is still battling to accept herself and what fate has thrust upon her. The new parts of herself are extraordinary and take some getting used to. At this point in the story, if you haven’t read book 1, Heavenward, you should. Although it is not necessary, I think it tends to fill in a lot of plot chunks and character traits tha ...more

“Yesterday is yesterday. Today is a new day.”

I have received this book for free from Fraser’s Fun House and Olga Gibbs in exchange of an honest review for this blog tour.

Sequels are usually what makes or breaks a series and Hallow is an amazing sequel following up Heavenward. It isn’t just a ‘Heavenward: part 2’, it is it’s own book with its own strengths and highlights. While Heavenward was more a book telling us what was happening around and to the protagonist, Hallow shows us what is goi

Hallow is book 2 in the Celestial Creatures quartet. Ariel is a teen burdened with being part of a world that until recently she knew nothing about. While grappling with her humanity, she’s having to deal with Archangels and a battle that could shake the world. When faced with her options, Ariel goes back to earth, wanting know part of a battle for a world she barely knows but the one thing that she wanted to protect on earth seems to be continually just out of her reach.

The long path ahead of you is far from over. But you can can shape it and you can lead it.

All Ariel wants to do is find her sister, but when you have the essence of one of the most formidable archangels within you giving you the power to end the world and a host of deadly enemies on your tail, there may be nowhere safe for Ariel or her sister to run.

Punchy, emotional and intense.

It's clear that Hallow is a transition book. It's mostly about Ariel coming to terms with who/what she is

Hallow is the second novel in the Celestial Creatures series and my personal advice would be to read Heavenward first – and why not as it’s free by clicking the link higher in the post.

So after a punishing wait, we resume the story with Ariel returning to Earth with Rafe after her fight with Baza and learning that she harnesses the essence of the most powerful angel to have existed. A lot to take in for a teen girl who’s previous issues had been keeping her head down in school and avoiding the b

I loved book 1, Heavenward so jumped at the chance to be on the tour for Hallow!

At the beginning we’re back on Apkallu (Earth to us!) with our protagonist Ariel, and her begrudging ‘bodyguard’ Rafe. They’re here to find Jess, Ariel’s sister to keep her safe. However, as is the case for Ariel, things don’t quite go to plan and she finds herself in numerous challenging situations, with another battle looming…..

Other than that I’m giving nothing else away! Again, Olga has bought us a fabulous YA Fa

Let’s start with my opinion that you should read Heavenward, Book 1 of the Celestial Creatures series first. I have read it, loved it, and believe you would benefit from all the explanations, back story, characters, world-building, etc. in book one. I feel the reader may be lost without this information.

Since Celestial Creatures is now a four book series, book two contains set-up for the upcoming battles and books. I would rather have the explanations now than have the reader become wholly lost

After discovering the truth about the essence within, Ariel now has to become strong enough, and smart enough, to face the enemies around her.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Ariel returns to Earth, to escape Baza and to find her human sister before their enemies do.
She is accompanied by Rafe, who was once the soulmate to the angel her essence came from, which makes for some very awkward and mixed feelings. He has sworn to protect and help her, and seems to be the only one

Now, let's get into Hallow! If you haven't please read Hollow, it's the first book in the series. Ariel has returned to Earth, after spending time with creatures she didn't know existed, and fighting a battle that she doesn't want to fight. Ariel returns home with Rafe, who happens to be her bodyguard, and was once the soulmate of the angel, whose essence she now inhabits...You can imagine, the situations Ariel, and Rafe get themselves into lol! All Ariel wants to do, is find her human sister, t ...more

It's been half a year since Ariel had been to earth... half a year spent with angels she once never even believe existed, half a year since that incident in the Science Lab. But she had a mission more than keeping herself safe until she was ready for battle, she was now looking for her little sister.

Olga doesn’t spare us from our feeling and instantly I am thrown into an emotional whirlwind and I won’t lie, a few tears escape while reading on through, being the ever emotional person that I can b

This is the second book of the Celestial Creatures series and carries on where the first book, Heavenward, left off (so there will be some spoilers!).

In this book, Ariel has gone into hiding with Rafe while she learns more about her powers. She then heads back to her mother's house to find her sister - but they've disappeared. They stay in a B&B on the seafront for a while, where she learns that she no longer needs human food (but still enjoys her pick n' mix!) and that fortunately, her wings pa
