the perfect guide for re-enactors? Probably, given the fine work both aithors have done for Osprey M-A-A titles about North & South.

But I'm no re-enactor & to discuss every unit's uniform for ranks, NCO's and officers complete with variations, colour plates & commentaries to unusual photos... could fill a Bible or two.
Maybe in the future, I'll go back to this type of book for, say, the 4th Wisconsin Infantry ?
