‘Tristan, only nineteen years old, hailed from Earth’

Everything about Tony James Slater invites you to enter his life – at least as a voyeur. He seems to be from Australia (or at least someplace British with all the ’whilst’ and substituting s for z in verbs, jocular nicknames and terms we don’t hear often in the US). He describes himself as a ‘very, very strange man. He believes himself to be indestructible, despite considerable evidence to the contrary. He is often to be found making strange f

The second book in the Ancient Guardians series, Warden’s Folly picks up right where the first book left off. It’s full of action and has a few twists thrown in that I wasn’t expecting, one of which was huge and quite a shock (I literally gasped when I read it). Sci-fi is not really my genre, but I totally enjoyed this one. The narrative is excellent and the way some things are phrased made me laugh out loud. I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy sci-fi and even those like me who usua ...more

I don’t get Tristan.

Why didn’t you kill Tristan? He’s a character that I don’t feel has any purpose or use in the book his character doesn’t seem to be growing very much. The only thing he did in this book is spoilers. And you killed a character who had quite a bit of promise. I love the warden and the princess even the assassin but asked for Tristan I just don’t get it. In my opinion this seem to have made the book a bit slow. Because there was no character progression as far as he was concerne

Sci-fi Adventure

A most enjoyable ride, (so far) with the promise of more to come. The crew of the "folly" are a strange bunch, yet they blend. Keep writing the Ancient Guardians Tony. Loving the books.

Awesome!

Easy 5 stars! Love the plot. Non-stop action with just enough romance to keep it interesting. I'm hooked! Can't wait for next book. I recommend this to anyone any age that likes a good read.

Excellent!

I was hesitant about reading the second book. The first one left me concerned that there would be so many issues that could not be resolved. I am glad my curiosity got the better of me. It was a fulfilling journey. Thx

Every si fi Nut should read book 1&2

The only reason that I haven't recommended book 3 is it isn't scheduled for release until January or February i will have it the day it becomes available. Dan

Loved this book. The characters are well thought out and very well written. When they hurt, I hurt, when they experienced joy, I felt happy. Great story, with lots of surprises. Looking forward to book #3!

Good space opera

Likable characters, story moves along quickly with much action. Some gee whiz moments just in the nick of time but overall I’d recommend as a good read.

Tony James Slater is a very, very strange man. He believes himself to be indestructible, despite considerable evidence to the contrary. He sometimes makes strange faces whilst pretending to be attacked by inanimate objects. But perhaps his single biggest problem is this; he has a mouth so big he is in danger of swallowing his own head. As a result he often ends up far from mainstream civilization, ...more
