I haven’t read a book in over 5 years but once I saw Cody wrote a book I just knew it was going to be good and boy was I right! This book was absolutely amazing!
I watch their show and really enjoy the camaraderie between the boys and absolutely love their families and how much they care about each other. I agree ‘family comes first’! This wasn’t quite what I expected and I’m not quite sure what I thought this would be but I truly enjoyed reading this book and taking in his values on life and I totally appreciate the ‘cowboy contract’.
Cody accomplished what he set out to do! Write a book his way. It is filled with cowboy sayings. He picked up a lot on his travels with the rodeo, but I feel it's got a lot to do with his family and upbringing . My grandfather's word was his bond and a handshake was better than today's contracts.. So glad I was able to know him. Continue on your journey & you will make your son and wife proud..
Quick and fun read. I originally bought this years ago when watching the show The Cowboy Way:Alabama and just never got around to reading it. I'm glad I finally picked it up. It is so full of Cody's personality and I could visualize him saying every single word in that book.
My wife and I really like watching The Cowboy Way. This is where I learned of the book. Let me say that I respect anyone willing to self publish their thoughts. It’s not easy and can be intimidating. I found myself laughing at some of the pithy sayings and was encouraged by some of the down to earth conversation. The reason that I gave it three stars was because some of the theology in the book was pretty cringe. As a Christian pastor, this is a big deal to me. If you are familiar with the show this will be a good insight into one of the main characters. But if someone isn’t familiar with the show they may not get it.
This is an ok little book. Too much religion in it for my taste though. Plus, the assumption that u have a choice whether you are depressed or not, when that is a mental illness is rather insulting. I'm happy the author has had a life that one would dream of. Not all of us get that. I'm sure if the author had lived my life he would see the world in a whole other light!
I stumbled upon this book from watching the TV series “The Cowboy Way”. I loved the series and the book definitely lived up to the hype. I loved it! Cody Harris gives you the best life advice he possibly can and it touched me down deep to my soul. I sat this book down in great spirits and thanking the good Lord for all I have. A quick read and well worth it!
When I saw my husband to be it was love at first sight. Roy Rogers was my hero then. I remember coming home and my mother asked what he did for a living and proudly answered he rides Bulls. Book is great read. It's the way life should be.
I find it refreshing to read something where God and common sense are included in the same text. There is something here for everyone to learn and apply in their lives!
I really enjoyed reading and absorbing the messages in this book. (I read it with Cody’s voice as narrator!) Great first book Cody, now how about book two?!
Fun book to read! Love Cody's cowboy outlook on life and his deeply entrenched faith that he shares with the world. As a ranch wife I can relate a lot!
