A reference text which covers health maintenance visits, and the guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Each visit described focuses on one or two important aspects of development for a specific age group: two year old, seven year old, office visit with the six month old.
Extremely detailed and thorough text on the psychological development of children and their assessment at various stages of growth. A little too verbose at times, I wanted them to just get to the point, but it reads easily enough.
This is my favorite child development book. I refer to it often in my practice as a pediatric NP. I've bought 2 editions. The first actually has nicer graphics. The second has more and updated information.
A very informative, readable book on child development. The tables listing developmental milestones by age are very helpful, as are the 'red flag' boxes.
