This awesome picture book shows young readers what older readers have known all along. How fast or how slow time goes, depends on what you're doing. We know the saying, "time flies when you're having fun". This book shows how five minutes can go by in a flash or it can seem like an eternity. Five minutes to get ready for school goes by so fast, but five minutes waiting on line at the dry cleaners lasts forever. This could start some great discussions about the passage of time, and might even enc ...more

Five minutes can feel like hours, or it can feel like seconds-- depending on what it is you're doing with those five minutes. When our main character is having fun, those five minutes go far too fast! When he's waiting for something, it crawls like a snail. This book is both humorous and relatable, these minutes of waiting and enjoyment we all experience.

This book is unique and fun. Reading it never bores me, I read it several times when I am in the bus or sitting anywhere waiting for something. Though the content is not much the illustrations will make you fall in love with this book and also the cuteness is extreme!
The book is based on the extension of the time which depends on the circumstances, Like those five minutes in a boring lecture or the one while waiting in a queue.
It is a very short read but reading it will make you smil

This story is about 5 minutes of time (waiting five minutes too long or five minutes too short). The pictures are great, great illustration and expressions and situations. This story is perfect for a preschooler!

Once again, Olivier Tallec nails it. The illustrations are spot-on! Liz Garton Scanlon and Audrey Vernick once again team up for another winner here with the premise and the text. These three are like a power trio for picture book lovers!

Thanks to Penguin Young Readers for the review copy.

Five minutes can be a very long time or go by quickly, depending on the situation.

Hilarious book that any reader will relate to. Depending on what you're doing, 5 minutes can either feel like a lifetime or no time at all.

Five minutes can go by in a flash or it can take a lifetime... it depends. Parents and kids will identify with this sweetly funny picture book that take a look at just what five minutes looks like.
