Throughout history, food has served as a means of bringing community together. A time to fellowship and sharing news, forging a future in common purpose. This cookbook provides a means to this end. Ms. Brunstetter has compiled a treasure trove of recipes from submissions from her readers. This is a great go-to for those preparing to host a party at their home, a contribution to a pot luck dinner or any where a group gathers to share and break bread together.

What a wonderful cookbook to add to my collection, and I love the recipes and I love the personal tidbits included at the beginning of each section.
This cookbook includes an index of recipes by Key Ingredients, but also by Section. Then credit is given to each of the contributors by adding their name and location, so yes, it is a cookbook by friends.
There is even a bunch of recipes for feeding a crowd, I can just picture these at a family reunion, or possibly at a church gathering.

What a charming little book. It puts me very much in mind of the types of cookbooks that I seek out at things like estate sales and thrift stores. The ones that were made by a book club or Girl Scout Troop or 4th grade class in ring binding with little plops of stains on pages that show they're well loved recipes.

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
From the publisher, as I do not regurgitate the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it.

This was a lovely magnification of the Amish community and how they gather together, along with the food that they share. I've always been enamored when it comes to the Amish and always jump at the chance to try any recipes that they share. I had a fantastic time taking all the recipes included in this new cookbook in and even set some time aside to try the ones that immediately caught my eye. I love a good drink, the Frozen Pear Slush jumped out at me because I love pears and it didn't disappoi

A really nice spiral bound book that opens and lays flat, author Wanda Brunstetter’s newest cookbook is a delight. I’m enjoying trying new recipes! The recipes are easy to read and understand, and most of the ingredients you’ll find in your pantry.
The book centers on the Amish community; faith and family, and includes a page with a lovely story or sentiment between each section. The pictures are beautiful and will make you want to get in the kitchen.

This is cookbook will please anyone who loves to cook and bake with the wide variety of recipes. Additional bonus to the book is tidbits about the Amish, index with key ingredient as well as by section, along with cooking for a large crowd like the Amish often does. This is a worthwhile cookbook to add to any collector’s kitchen with a variety of recipes throughout Amish communities.

I think something people assume about Amish cooking is that everything is made from scratch, but many meals are often compromised of convenience foods.
This book features a mix of both types of recipes, some with a lot of detail and others are quite simple.
There are some good recipes here and everything is nicely arranged. I wish there was text to go with the photos of the food because it is sometimes hard to tell what dish it is.

Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Gatherings Cookbook, compiled by Wanda E. Brunstetter, is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in late May.

I love this cookbook! It's spiral bound and the perfect size to have open on your counter to read from while you are cooking and baking. There are plenty of pretty pictures and it is easy to read. My new favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe comes from this cookbook! There are a lot of interesting recipes in this cookbook. There is a recipe called Messy Pink Stuff which I definitely want to try. There are recipes called Pumpkin Snickerdoodles and Can't-Leave-Alone-Bars. There are also recipes fo

I’m constantly in need of encouragement and motivation when it comes time to prepare meals. It gets hum-drum preparing the same comfortable go-tos. Well, this book has certainly inspired me! I love it when a cookbook has illustrations. And I’m especially pleased that the recipes call for simple, already on hand ingredients.

This book will pull you in with sweet memories of gatherings of Amish families. The contributors share a number of recipes used through the years in their family and community. The reader is drawn back in time when families shared a meal together, celebrated sharing food, gathered to celebrate life and accomplishments, to build each other up.

Yum! That's the first work this comes to mind about this upcoming release from Brunstetter! I've read many of her fiction books, but I've never checked out an Amish cookbook prior to this one. I'll likely remedy that in the future!

I have to say, I love this cookbook. I generally love cookbooks. But I find that a lot of them include a lot of recipes I know I'll never cook, because they call for ingredients that I don't happen to have in my house, or weird, rare spices. Not so with this cookbook! The Amish know how to cook for families, and they know how to cook simple, hearty food that will satisfy those at the table. This cookbook delivers on both of these items. I've already made several items -- my kids really loved the

I absolutely enjoyed flipping through this book! I liked the tips shared from Amish and Mennonite women about food preparation, clean-up techniques, planning advice and how to feed a large crowd.
The recipes are well-written and easy to follow. I can see these easily being modified to suit any allergies or intolerances your family may have.

I love reading Amish books and always seem to enjoy hearing about the meals that they prepare. They are usually wholesome and sometimes made with ingredients that they grow.
When I was given this complimentary copy from Barbour Publishing I decided I not only wanted to try some of the recipes but also review them.
I started with the Orange Drink found on page12 but had to change the measurements accordingly as I did not need 100 servings. I found it very tasty and would definitely try it again.
