This book is part of a series but I read it as a stand alone just fine. This book is a romance with action and suspense. Detective Liam Kastor has had a crush on Sloane Colton since 4th grade. He can even remember what she was wearing the day he first met her. She had on a white lace dress with a pink satin bow. She was his best friends’ little sister. He and her brother kept the boys away from her during high school. Years later she is back in town piecing back her life after a horrible divorce. Her ex is a real piece of work. He wants to take her daughter away from her, just to ruin her life. He knows how much Chloe means to Sloan. He has no interest at all at actually stepping up to be a dad. When Chloe was in the hospital he didn’t even come to visit her. Liam however was there. When he went to her house to pick up clothes for her, he found someone had installed camera’s in her house. He went into detective/ body guard mode. After Chloe got out of the hospital, Sloan became a target. I guess they got tired of spying on her. They wanted her out of the picture. This book has intense parts. Her ex-in-laws had court ordered visitation. I won’t give the book away, but if it was me dropping off my 2-year-old, or picking her up, I would have lost my cool, and slapped my ex-mother-in-law. Trust me, I’m not a violent person, but she deserved it. This was a good book. I loved the end!

Colton Under Fire by Cindy Dees is the second book in the Colton's of Roaring Springs mini series. Liam and Sloane are in the midst of what appears to be a very grueling series of events. Sloane is being hunted and running for her life all while trying to take care of a two year old toddler. This book is full of suspense and has you grasping at straws at every turn. I could not put this book down. It is a great read.
