With a 6-year-old budding naturalist in the house, we've developed quite the collection of nature guides. This is one of the best. It covers a handful of common birds that your child is likely to see while playing in the yard or out on a walk. For each bird, beautiful illustrations and just the right amount of information keep a child's interest. A few easy projects, like building a simple birdfeeder, are scattered throughout.
