I loved this book. I love that she's country, love that she's from NC (reppin' Mt. Airy! yes, from Andy Griffith...) Not that I'm well read in the "genre", but I don't know of a lot of LG authors that have her authentic, Southern, rural roots and voice. It tends (perhaps sterotypically) to be a big-city, "up north" vibe I've gotten from the (one) handful of LG writers I'm familiar with...just very lyrical, very beautiful stuff, care taken over every phrase, carefully conceived. And unlike most poetry, giftable (yikes, ha)
And she's unbelievable live and on stage...she performs poetry and has a band she's down w/ up in the Raleigh, NC area. My copy of this book had a sampler CD in back.
