As the description says, this is a return to Scrooge's life five years after the fateful events in A Christmas Carol. Mr. McDonald has done a wonderful job of recapturing the feel and voice of Charles Dickens in this story. He definitely did his homework not only on the life and culture surrounding Scrooge but also on the book layout for the original story. The lettering, book design, and illustrations echo the original.

If I had to give one critique, it'd be that I would have loved to see a litt

It has been five years since Ebenezer Scrooge’s encounter with the Christmas ghosts and he has lived up to his word, however when Scrooge missed his annual Christmas dinner with his nephew and friends they begin to suspect that something sinister has befallen him and go looking for Scrooge, tracking him to one of the most dangerous slums in all of London. Author Jason C. McDonald attempts to imitate the narrative style of A ...more

I absolutely love A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and Finding Scrooge by Jason C McDonald is even better. It’s always fun to find out what happens to a character that you love, after the original story is finished. And Finding Scrooge tells you just how Ebenezer has fared over the five years since he was visited by the three spirits.
A thoroughly enjoyable read that you’ll be happy to have in your library.

I read this novella in a couple of hours and Jason did a superb job! He knows the Carol in detail. He writes in Dickens’ style. His followup is very realistic and believable. I have been a Dickens collector for 35 years and I highly recommend it to all...and to all a good night!

If you loved A Christmas Carol, this is a terrific fan fiction which takes you back to Scrooge 5 years in the future.
