5 quirky stars

for one of the most original, funny and quirky fairy tales I've ever read!

It all starts with a talking book. Or perhaps with a dead knight, leading to a talking book? Because it is the book that entails his tale. One that begins like this:
'My name is Buckhunter Dornley, and I am dead.

This is the story of a man, a knight, a warrior, and the woman he loves. It is the story of a renewal, a restoration, a rebirth. All told from the POV of a dead man.

Sir Buckhunter Dornley was th

Massive squeal alert!

I LOVED this novella!! It was so much fun and had this snarky humor that made me laugh more than once. I also even teared up at the ending because it was absolutely the perfect fairy tale ending. *happy sighs*

Sir Buck was such an amazing hero. He grows SO much and loved how he grew and changed throughout (even if he still has his sometimes grumpy personality haha). Plus, his woman was equally amazing and fun. They made such fun banter!

However, I do want to mention that a cer

4.5 stars for one of the most unusual and compelling stories I've ever read! Not your usual fantasy, but the two main characters became living, breathing people to me (well, one was breathing for some of the story, but I guess it wouldn't be a spoiler because he begins his story by telling you he's dead). If you like knights and dragons and princesses, a quirky love story, and adventure all over the place, including monsters and curses and mythology and zombies and life-and-death situations, you ...more

A sweet original fairy tale

To be honest, Knight's Rebirth is not written in a style I normally like to read. However, the first chapter was intriguing and the author did a good job of stringing me along with questions that needed answers.

The love story itself was pretty sweet as well. I'm not sure how I feel about Buck's conversion. It would seem his personality type is very practical so it's probably not out of character for him to decide to just be a better person as he did. It just wasn't som

A sweet romance adventure with a lonely knight, a spirited princess, and a dragon curse between them.

I give this book 2.5 out of 5 stars. It was just okay--I was in pain reading some parts but other parts were kinda fun.

Basically, this is one of those books where I can see how other people might like it, but yeah, it ain't for me. It just wasn't very well-written and didn't fulfill my (admittedly, high) expectations.

This little modern fairytale starts us off with a prologue,

Not a typical fairytale, nor a typical hero, but a fun fantasy to read and enjoy. Sarah has created another must read fantasy tale. This is not written in a typical style, but none the less it is a great story for the ages. Loved the story from beginning to end.

Since the first time I read the blurb I was curious about this book. From the ghost element and the fantasy aspect, it was unusual and intriguing. It's not a typical fairytale and knight's story which was fun and an adventure.
It may not be a long novel, more like a novella size book, and was a quick read compared to other stories I have read. Despite all of that, I liked it, and I was quite fascinate by the plot and all the fantasy aspects and the magic that linked the storyline together. Not on

Fun different fairy tale

So I like to browse the free and good deals on kindle. I was browsing and I came across this book and I saw the line “My name is Buckhunter Dornley, and I am dead.” I thought wait, what? Then the descriptions called it a fairy tale and then those things didn’t seem to go together. Then I saw the glowing reviews. Huh, I think I will take a chance on it. It did not disappoint. It is a little quirky but in a good way. Pick it up if you want to read something fun and lighthea

He is a knight but he is also dead. A princess is under a curse and he wants to save her but she may just have to save him as well. Will they save each other? Can they have a life together? See how they get on

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I'm not sure about all those reviews declaring this to be funny, riveting, or the most clever thing ever, but after the last debacle I suffered through, the lack of spelling and punctuation problems was a definite plus. ...more

Two people discover a tiny red book. When they translate it, they read the story of knight who falls in love with a princess. She is doomed to be sacrificed to a dragon for the sake of her kingdom but he wants to prevent her death. She kills him to stop him from doing it but attempts to bring him back. When that fails, he himself must find a way to recover his life and prevent her from going through with her sacrifice to the dragon. I enjoyed this book.

A quick, fun fairy-tale read! I loved Buck and his storytelling style, and the world was so original. It was great how everyone got a happy ending, too!
