A Romeo and Juliet love story for a modern young adult audience, I greatly enjoyed Forbidden Love. Though Amy is a princess, her seemingly-simplistic life is turned on its head when she falls in love with Darien, prince of the earth kingdom. Amy's mother does not approve of the match and she sends Amy away. Though Darien finds Amy, their troubles are far from over as Amy learns about a brother she never had and the Pond Water Prince threatens to tear the two apart. And it only gets better from there! Though there is no shortage of conflict in this tale, be assured that Amy and Darien will find their happily ever after, but it will be quite a battle before they do. Diana Rose's debut novel demonstrates that a character is never too young to fall in love, and love has the power to win out in the end over any forces of evil that may threaten it. Escape into another world with this most unique story!
I tried to like this book. I really did. It took me 10 days to push myself and finish the book. The cover is gorgeous.. but it doesn't scream 1800s or young adult.
I found quite a few issues with the book or things that just don't make sense. 1. Computer control room in the 1800's... come on... not even likely... 2. Talking wolf and mind reading fairy... random creatures just thrown in the story. Only mentioned once then never talked about again. 3. So many timeline issues (example Supposed to get his powers at 16... gets them at 14? Unless it took him 2 years to find Amy.) (Another example Any Got her magic at 13 unless it was a time jump that wasn't memtioned) (another example pond water prince battle against Max's castle was 5 years ago Darien tried to fight off pond water prince... he is only 14/15... (unless there was a jump in time that wasn't noted))
Parts of the book I didn't care for 1. Randomly goes back in time with no warning. And time jumps we don't know about 2. Names of the kingdoms... they remind me of something a child would come up with. And the author adds so many in the book at random times. You forget all the names. 3.The curse of the ape that couldn't be broken... was broken...
This book could have been about 5 seperate books but instead I kept getting lost on whose story we were on.
1.Queen Alyona and the missing son 2. Amy and Darien 3. Max 4. Henry 5. Eric
Issues in the writing 1. Sapphira breaks off engagement with Fabian bc she met Eric... she was sad about it for months.. but they had just met the day before.. Eric apparently turned Fabian into a PLATE... 3. Tell Fabian the marriage is off on chapter 32 and 39... 4. Chapter 41.. oh no the prince may have turned back and went to sapphira... he had already changed back in 39.. and Fabian knows she doesn't want to marry him.... 🙄 5. Chapter 44... says the earth kingdom didnt get along with the moon kingdom bc queen alyona accused them of taking their son... not what happend. Queen Anna was mad they wouldn't let them be together and queen alyona accused Darien of kidnapped Amy..
I would not recommend this book even to a young adult reader. I think if the Author rewrote this book into multiple books, and went through the timeline and fixed everything it could be a good young adult series.
Update: I took my review down to one star. After writing this review, the author went on to facebook and started bashing me in 2 different groups. One being my personal group. I will never read another one of her books.
Diana Rose spins a YA story reminiscent of the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales we grew up with. The characters are magical and the settings lush. This is an unusual and colorful novel!

✍🏻It is the nature of the world, that it never allows two people loving eachother to be one. The story of Amy and Darien is no different.
✍🏻Amy is the princess of the Moon kingdom. She is excessively protected and controlled by her mother. She is courageous but the over protective nature of her mother has made her insecure about her abilities.
✍🏻Darien on the other hand is the prince of the Earth kingdom. He is confident strong and ready to tackle anything that comes in his way. He loves Amy so much that he can do anything to get her.
✍🏻Amy and Darien both liked each other and wanted to live their rest of the lives together. But as I said NO LOVE story is free from obstacles. Amy's mother denied to approve the match and it was not the only problem. The Prince of Pond water separates them. This was so heartbreaking.
🙄How will Amy and Darien fight for their love?
🙄Will they give up on their love?
✍🏻To know about that you need to read the book.
✍🏻The book cover itself is an attractive one. It is clear from the cover that it's a love story. The book is full of emotions and suspense. I really liked the way author has narrated the story and made it so interesting and unpredictable.
✍🏻All the romance lovers will like the book. The plot is quite engaging and the story will have all the readers glued to their seats.
Being in Isolation was a very difficult task but the books made it really easy for me to isolate from the world and get into a new one. A new world where these books took me, here is one of those books called "Forbidden Love" as the name suggests it's a fairy tale like love story the title is simple, catchy and a relevant one. Talking about the cover of the book I personally liked the cover as it was a very basic one. So here I would rate it 2/2. Talking about the plot of the book, A sheltered life and hopes of escape were led by Princess Amy of the Moon Kingdom. She remains insecure in her abilities and afraid to disappoint her family, with a controlling mother directing her every step. She doesn't lack confidence, but seizing it is harder than she ever thought imaginable, even for what she desires the most. The visual representations of scenes from the storey are vivid. The most amazing thing for me, while I very much prefer Science Fiction to YA Romance, was my interest in the storyline. All in all, I found a wonderful book to read. I would definitely recommend it to all of you. So what are you waiting for go grab a copy fast. Not forgetting about the words and language they are pretty basic and understandable. Happy reading 📖
The title itself reveals to us about what the story might be about but it is not just about being forbidden to stay with the one Princess Amy loves rather it is more about courage and more about seizing the love that she wants.
The story starts with Princess Amy of Moon Kingdom meeting Prince Darrien of Earth Kingdom at the age of 13. It is love at first sight however her mother Queen Alyona is against their love since she seems to come to a conclusion that Amy and Darrien are still too young to understand what love really is.
So Princess Amy is being sent away to some far away land so that she never meets Prince Darrien.
The plot is more like a fantasy one even though more on a romantic note. Author has penned down the story with a beautiful grace however there were still minor grammatical errors that can be overlooked.
The pace of the story was very fast and could have constructed in a bit moderate way. There were some scenes too which were very cliche.
We are introduced to a magical world with Amy and Darien as secret lovers. He is 14 and she is 13 when they meet. Amy's parents don't approve since he is from a different kingdom. The happily ever after of this story is eventually realized but getting there was a little weird. It's set in the 1830's but there is a computer room and the language felt more modern to me. While the journeys some characters took involved magical, talking creatures, it didn't connect with me and didn't seem to fit in with the story. There are numerous characters in this story to keep up with and one named Pond Water Prince who wants to take the kingdoms and all of their powers away and will stop anyone in his path. I feel this story was at least 2 1/2 stars but gave it 3 because of the depth of the story itself. The story needs a little tweaking because it didn't flow as well as it had the potential to flow but it was entertaining where it needed to be.

Forbidden Love by Diana Rose is a book I read mainly because of Jessica Lauryn's connections to the author. I wasn't sure what to expect. However, I enjoyed the story and found it engaging.
