I love cozy mysteries and I love quilting and this series by Carol Dean Jones is the perfect combination! In this book, we get to know Sarah's daughter, Martha, better. All of the usual characters are also in this book and I feel as if I know them well by now.

This was a well written book that has just the right amount of mystery and quilting. I was hooked on the story from the very beginning. There were twists and turns to add fun to the mystery. I've enjoyed all of the books in this series of quilting cozies and hope that the author has plans for more adventures of Sarah and friends.

Patchwork Connections is a very enjoyable read. I highly recommend this to anyone who reads cozy mysteries and quilts!

Book 4 in the quilting cozy mysteries.

Sarah's daughter Martha has always been a quiet figure in the story of Sarah's life in the Cunningham retirement village.

The community spirit is still fresh and vibrant and we see the relationship between Sarah and Martha become closer. 

Sarah has been asked to manage Ruth fabric shop Running Stitches, and while Sarah is not confident, Ruth has every faith in her.

Martha, on the other hand has work trouble. Having fired Derek Kettler for incompetence, she finds herself listening to his troubled personal life story over dinner. When he kisses her goodnight she slaps him......and this is her undoing.

Sarah's beloved Charles is forced to step in, when Martha confides in her mother about her ex husband, and her home is ransacked. As a retired Police officer he knows just what to do.

Cute kittens, kidnap and of course quilts all help make this a novel worthy of a mornings read. Clean, fun and very entertaining they are perfect for quilt lovers and fans of mystery and suspense.

I keep reading this series, even though the writing is just above mediocre and there are editing errors. Sorry, spell check doesn't know the difference between "fowl" and "foul", used incorrectly on page 15. It takes a human editor to spot this, something this series sorely lacks.

However, the parts about quilting and the quilting store keep me interested and I do want to know what is going on with each of the characters. We learn much more about Sarah's daughter, Martha, in this book, but the author tells us rather than shows us. And Martha's predicament is resolved in an improbable deus ex machina way. There are good subplots--really the author has a lot of potential, she just needs a good editor.

I am really enjoying this series because the books continue where the last one left off. The characters that we met in the beginning of the series are now a more integral part of the story and showing their personalities a little more.

I think there are 10 in the series so I am looking forward to reading the rest.....and these are short quick reads.......not to mention all the great quilting in the books too!!!

I am glad that I found this series. The characters are likeable and it's nice to read a novel that includes characters that care about each other. As in the previous books of the series, there is a main plot and a few side stores. Some are predictable and others have a bit of a twist. It keeps it interesting.

I am enjoying this series! This book was a fun read, with mystery, intrigue and of course quilting! The relationships, friends, family, and love shone through every page. The author is developing the characters so beautifully. Looking forward to the next book!

A quilters story

As a quilter I enjoyed reading about the quilt shop and the women who gather there also. Was glad that the encouraged the young girl to join them.

This was a cute family book that had mystery component too. Who kidnapped her, and why? Who was trying to get Martha fired? A fun read. And I love the Amish quilt pattern too.
