Isolated is a wonderful novel written by a wonderful author!
Set in war-invaded Canada, 14-year-old Louise is forced to leave the safety and comfort of everything she has previously known and venture out into the wilderness alone to survive. During this time, she struggles with what she thinks she knows about God, and what she soon comes to know is really true about God. Isolated is filled with excitement and suspense and will keep you reading until the end!
The books does in very abruptly, and s

This story was wonderful and well-written!! I loved getting to know Louise and journeying with her as she fought to survive. Before I dive any further, here are the things you should know:

-Language: N/A
-Romance: N/A
-Violence: this would be the thing I would caution you on. As this is a story with war going on, there are many severe wounds, dead bodies, and people held captive.
-Blood/Gore: lots of blood mentioned and bloody wounds. I would caution you if you're sensitive to talk ab

Hmmm... I'm a bit conflicted on this one. I love survival stories, but I just had a really hard time connecting with the style (which is definitely a personal preference). Some of the metaphors left me confused and unsure of what picture I was supposed to be taking away from them. Also, I still don't understand much of what's going on outside of Louise's immediate need for survival. What is this war about? Who are all the different people she's run into? Why did certain things happen the way the ...more

A couple of months ago I read In Too Deep by Lynn Blackburn (my first suspense novel I’ve read in at least five years) and I loved it SO much, so I was really looking forward to reading another suspense novel. I decided to pick up Isolated and I’m glad to say that it was super enjoyable to read! A couple of things that I really loved that I would like to point out... For one, I really liked how the whole story took place in a short amount of time-yet the book itself was quite long. I really enjo ...more

I read this book in a couple hours -- it was wonderful! This was my first time reading something by Jordy Leigh, and I must say, I am definitely looking forward to reading the second book in this series.

This book begins with a suspenseful scene. The main character is almost kidnapped. And from there, the pace never slows down. It was engaging, interesting, and kept you wondering what was going to happen next. And the warned that you pretty much *need* the second book to continue t

Isolated is such a beautiful story of salvation coming out of the most unexpected events and to the most unexpected people! Daring escapes, close calls, survival, finding meaning in life, it's all packed into this amazing book! Follow Louise as she gets mysteriously kidnapped, makes a quick escape, but is now stranded in the Canadian forest. Does she know enough survival skills to survive? Does God really care about her enough to keep her alive? Is there really a God at all? Is her family alive? ...more

A great book. Looking for book 2

Jordy had my attention from the beginning
She has learned the skill of drawing the reader into the next chapter. The book seemed to end abruptly leaving me with unanswered questions. That makes me want to read book 2.

Isolated is an intense, content-packed book. It’s very thrilling and leaves you with a sense of imminent danger as well as containing an important message.

Isolated fulfilled both my need for excitement … and my need fo
