“Machines and fancy suits are great, but at the end of the day, your own skills are what will keep you alive.”
A thoughtful and sweet introduction with help links provided for the abuse survivors, or going through it still. A world of intrigue, death, and contract killers, of hardship and loss, a very compelling and captivating background of Abigail, the protagonist and sister in arms. This book has been one of Chaney’s most personal and intimate story, gritty, hardcore, emotive, action pac

This was fun, the ending was expected, I have read all the renegade series and this book benefits from the smaller list of characters, I believe the author has trouble juggling a large cast. Still enjoyed it.

This is the back story for Abigail from the Renegade Star series. A very good story about how Abby became the way she is when we meet her in the Renegade series. It shows how strong and determined she is to overcome a terrible childhood and emerge able to kick butt and take names.

Nameless: worth reading

J. N. Chaney has done a great job developing good characters that while you ashore what they do, you are drawn into them. Great development of these characters and a story that will keep you reading to the very end. Worth reading

A JNC. SYFY. Action Adventure (N) (AIST)

JNC. has penned a SYFY. action adventure which begins with two young girls who are trying to find their way when they accidentally come under the auspices of a clan of assassins. The girls have no idea what is in store for them, but they do realize they must be available to protect each other. There training begins and within days they realize they are being trained to be assassins. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Nameless. J.N. Chaney

Abigail, an orphan trying to survive along with her close friend Clementine. Their closer then sister's, a bond. The orphanage is a tough place to survive. Then they must leave. A new home. A training ground for assassin's. Abigail has a conscious, a inbred kindness. Clementine doesn't. This is a story of survival, a bond of kindness and the beginning of a new life. Enjoyed immensely.

Abigail and Clementine start this story but only Abigail is there at the end. This is another one that tells the past story of a characters featured in the Renegade Star series. There is a lot of world building and back story revealed. You also see the things that shaped Abigail and her world view. Abigail and Clementine end up in a world make up of violence. This is not a normal upbringing but explains a lot about Abigail.

A good book...

Another backstory from the Renegade Universe, this book visits Abi in her formative years and explains how she gained her martial prowess. An engaging and enjoyable, yet somehow thoughtful read, a must have if you’ve followed Jace et al during their odyssey. This would work equally well as a stand-alone. Well worth reading.

Different is...

...not something that is always good but neither is it bad. In this case, it worked out for the storyline and characters quite well. I enjoyed the book very much. It was easy to care about the characters...

Black Widow in space!

Chaney did an excellent job writing strong women in kickass roles. Loved reading how Abigail got her start. The entire Renegade Star universe is awesome and this prequel was no exception.
Love, love, love prequels!

Excellent story

A bit blood thirsty, but pulled me along. Grew quite fond of Abigail and as I have not read any of the Renegade series, it is now on my TBR list.

Loved the backstory about Abby. Need some more of that. Also good to read more about the goings on in the Union. I enjoy spending time in the renegade Universe.

Good read

Fast paced, and intriguing. Now we have a back story for Abby, and it is very well written. She is one bad ass chick.

Book seemed like a after thought, but basically it's a long and boring back story to two very broken characters.
