The danger intensifies as the Bad Witch series continues.

It’s good to be bad…

But with vampires, hunters and assassin

Probably shouldn't have started with this one, cause I was obviously missing a ton of background info on the world and characters, but I enjoyed it :) ...more

Fire in the Blood is the first book I've read by Robyn Bachar and the first book I've read in the Bad Witch series.

I enjoyed Fire in the Blood a lot. I was surprised since this is the third book in the series and went into it, with no knowledge of the series whatsoever. Patience is a great character. She's snarky, funny and she's tough. I thought the series was about her as the heroine of the series, but when I went back and read the blurbs for the previous two books, I realized that she isn't.

Woah, that was a super quick read! Having slogged through the previous 3 books, I was ready for a bit of a ride here, but it was actually a lot more straightforward than the previous installments.

This book is about Patience, who we met in the previous books. She's one of the only summoners left in the world that is being inundated with demons. If that wasn't bad enough, then there's also the shadowy government agents trying to take out supernaturals, and a very unstable vampire who is throwing

This book is part of a series and whilst it can be read as a stanadlone , I would recommend reading the previous books to set the characters and worldbuilding in place .

Patience Roberts , the last Summoner , could do with some downtime , perhaps to explore her romance with Faust , a shadownspawn faerie - but with the vampires, hunters, demons etc. on her case downtime is just a wish .
When an old Demon punches through the barrier between realms she must try her utmost to "temporarily" banish him

Being the last summoner standing between the demons and the magical community isn’t all that Patience Roberts thought it would cracked up to be, and she’s on her last legs. She’d love some sexy down time with Faust - her favorite dark Fae and lover. Still, there’s little time for anything but work when hunters, assassins and vampires are hot on her trail, and finding herself more vulnerable than ever to Faust is something she can't afford.

Patience will never admit how attracted she is to Faust

A quick read -- but honestly -- I found it funny & appealing. Then again I always liked Faust. I recommend it! (Plus it's like $4 if you buy it the week of release -- where is the downside?)

To get the most out of it -- you should read the prior short stories -- but I'm fairly sure you could pick up the story 'cold' and still enjoy it -- although the world would be confusing. :)

The third in a series, Fire in the Blood can be enjoyed as a standalone. However, it would be beneficial to read the first two. There comes a certain knowledge and understanding that adds to the pleasure of the story.

That being said it’s a pretty good paranormal read. The female lead is snarky and humorous in a journey that demons, fae, and magickind alike. Though the female lead is described as being a bitch, the reader expects her be stronger than she is. Instead, she is a bit flaky with a lo
