This was a very very eerie, horror inciting read. The premise was so much fun one motel 30 miles away from the nearest town, with 10 rooms, and guests were asked
Would you like to stay for one night, one week or one month? And everything depended on that answer. On this night too, 10 people in black cars came to stay and the night caused the monsters to come out of the walls literally..

The book by C B Collins started out rather passively and slowly building up the energy till things started happe

One Night's Stay by C.B. Collins is a new supernatural thriller with a lot of potentials that serves as a perfect Halloween read.

When I started reading this book I was pulled into it so fiercely that for the first 30% of the story I was not at all ready to put it down! But, much to my dismay, as the story progressed, I started to feel a little distant as the plot began to drag and the characterization started to falter. It began to get more and more difficult for me to feel a connection with th

I have been given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

The first thing I can say about this book is that it caught me right from the start. It is definitely a page-turner, that kind of book that you know that when you're gonna pick it up it's gonna be hard to put it down.
I liked that we got to know even the backstory of the guests that came to Sunset Inn, they all had "something to say".
It got you pretty curious about who the surprise and most awaited guest is and what's about to happen.

**I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.**

Well, where to even begin? Let's start with the fact that this book is over 500 "pages" long. I utilize quotation marks because the pages each have about six sentences on them due to a very interesting layout quirk.

However, this book could have easily been 300 of these quirky pages or less. Eleven folks check into an odd motel through a variety of shady circumstances, and find themselves surrounded by vampires and

You can tell right from the start that there's something fishy going on at The Sunset Inn. Motel in the middle of nowhere. A town where no strangers are ever allowed to spend the night. No phones in any of the hotel rooms. The strange desk clerk playing solitaire. And the question:

"Now will that be for one night, one week, or a month?"

With the arrival of each subsequent guest, the strangeness and suspense dials up a notch, and especially so while waiting for the arrival of the "special" guest.

Being in the mood for a change of pace from my "normal" reads (mostly historical fiction and some YA), I decided to give "One Night's Stay" a shot. The story seemed to start out all right, introducing me to the characters and how each one ends up at the Sunset Motel. The minute the characters set foot into the motel, you can feel that something is "off" about this place. That kept me interested and I continued to read. I was getting the feeling of a B horror flick, so I was expecting some things ...more

Very, very dark. The story will have you guessing until the end and if you think you have figured it out , you are wrong. The story had more gore than I am use to and I didn't find that it added much to the story. The characters needed to be fleshed out a bit more. I would put this more in the horror genre than cozy mysteries. In that vein, Collins did so well, I found myself turning on more lights so nothing could surprise me. If paranormal horror is what you are after, than this is the book fo ...more

This was an interesting idea. I’ve never heard of vampires cursing people with their bite before although the idea of a town populated by monsters that have to lure in outsiders to survive isn’t new. One month a year the people who stop into the motel for a single night’s stay are fair game. The motel only attracts people driving black cars who have some type of sin in their past.
Unfortunately none of the characters were very likable so I never really cared what happened to them.

The book is a b

Each person has a different idea of what constitutes a good book. This book was not for me, I did not like it at all & struggled to finish it. The story was long and drawn out and at times did not make sense to me. The characters and story line were all over the place. I finished the book & I'm still not sure what was going on.

This book intrigued me from the beginning. You know something is going to happen just a matter of when. There was 11 people that checked into a hotel. They all drove black cars and the hotel clerk ask each visitor how long they were stay.. one day, one week or for a month. The hotel clerk would always make a phone call after each person checked in and would mention a special guest. Onc the "special" guest arrived that is when all the action started. The book does have some gory parts but if you ...more

I have complained about guts, violence, and gore in books before but in this case its actually a plus. One Night’s Stay is a supernatural horror novel that lives up to its name. Things are creepy and dark, and nothing ever feels right—just the way a scary story should be.

This book has a way of bringing you in from page one and it doesn’t let you go for quite a while. The opening is very mysterious and strong with the motel, the strangers, the odd setting—it all leads up to the murder that rocks

This one was added to my “loved” shelf. It was a perfect blend of thrill, suspense, mystery, and intrigue all wrapped up in a game of cat and mouse with a bunch of strangers and a dark plotting force.

There were so many parts of this book that I did not see coming and that’s what made me love it. I hate when you can tell exactly what is going to happen all the way through a book. It takes the fun out of it. But not with this one. I would just be reading the book, enjoying my little stroll down th

3.5 stars

As soon as I read the premise of this novel, I was hooked. I have a weakness for books and movies that have a group of strangers coming together, especially when they’re in horror settings. This book starts off with all of the characters arriving at the Sunset Inn and for the most part, it was really creepy. The first third of this novel is completely tense and atmospheric and I had no idea what was going to happen.
