I love a bit of romance and suspense in a small town setting; exactly what’s on the menu for the first in Stacey Kennedy’s Dangerous Love series, and bringing the sexy is Stoney Creek’s resident Detective, Boone Knight and the town’s newest resident, lingerie aficionado, Peyton Kerr.

description I want you to lose your goddamn mind like I’ve been losing mine from wanting you.”

This is a series I’m pretty sure I’m going to enjoy hugely with a likeable bunch of characters, strong personalities, lifelong friendships, histories, and in Boone and Peyton’s case, painful pasts that have led them both to where they are in life now. Yet their story isn’t heavy, is low on angst, high on romance and the suspense—although not entirely unpredictable—keeps you on your toes throughout.

description There were always good times in the dark moments.”

I loved Boone and Peyton together—there’s no games, their romance follows a natural path and they don’t scrimp on the steamy moments as they fall deeper whilst danger keeps rearing its head. And with a teaser chapter for Remy and Asher’s story included, I’m ready and waiting to see what Wicked Sinner brings later this year.

This was a good second chance story for both our main characters. It isn't a second chance for them as a couple but more like a second chance in life.

Peyton was happily married, living a normal life back in Seattle with her husband when tragedy strikes. A year after her husband was killed in a car accident, she goes back to the place where she was last happy, Stone Creek.

Boone's a changed man. After moving back home after his wife betrayed him, he doesn't think marriage will ever be an option for him again. When Peyton moves to town, there's an undeniable attraction between them.

First, I am so happy that this series is set in a small town in Maine. I always seem to enjoy books set in a small town in Maine and this has proved to be the same. I love when you get a several side characters that really add to the story. When a setting is in a small town, you get that. I loved all the side characters but I'm cautious about Rhett. You'll know why when you read this book.

Secondly, despite Boone and Peyton starting out not wanting relationships, their story never felt casual. That's a good thing for me. I never like casual so I was happy to see these two were invested even if they didn't think they were.

Boone drew me in right away. His physical description, the fact that he's a detective and very protective, and even the fact that he rides a motorcycle. Peyton wasn't really all that special but she was a nice person, got along with everyone and you do get a couple of fun girlfriends in Kinsley and Remy.

I enjoyed Boone and Peyton's story and I'm looking forward to what's to come next.

I cracked this book open back in May, got a few pages in and put it aside for some insane reason (god knows why- I do these crazy things).........and so my point is....... I really loved this book...it really appealed to me from a romance POV and it was also such a sweet and sexy read.......with just the right amount of heat and suspense.
You really cannot go wrong with Stacey Kennedy IMO.....so I have just now got through kicking myself for not starting this book much sooner.
Peyton and Booone were such a perfect fit together ....I loved them both.....and I really did love all the small town "feels " that this story generated.... and the storyline itself was very well written.....in fact I can't wait to read book 2 "Wicked Sinner" with Asher and Remy.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC and my apologies for not producing my honest review in a more timely fashion. On the plus side though the next book releases 2 days from now - 10/15/2019.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I loved this little gem! It had suspense, romance, and 2 very deserving characters of a HEA. Even though the mystery wasn't hard to solve, it made this book that much better. I also sensed a bit of one of my favorite author's writing style, which made this book that much better.

This was a fun read. The plot was predictable and it dragged sometimes, many scenes felt useless and a but boring. I am the type of person who enjoys a mystery that is hard to solve in stories, and I predicted this one since the character appeared. Other than that, the characters where dimensional and the writing was good. It touched on topics like loss wnd grief beautifully and carefully, showing the reasons behindnthe character’s difficulties. I liked the fact that Peyton had a languerie shop, it was an original detail. I liked Boone as a love interest but I hate his name! This is not my type of book, but it wasn’t bad.

From page one I was hooked! I loved the story and the characters introduced. Peyton and Boone were electric. Their chemistry showed from the very beginning and didn’t disappoint. I’m also a sucker for a really great romantic suspense, and this book fit the bill. The plot was realistic and had me flipping the pages to see what happens next. Peyton was strong and having dealt with immense trauma, was not someone who would take danger lying down. Boone was the white knight; and what a knight he was. Always trying to do the right thing, but his draw to Peyton was too strong. I can’t wait to read more about the other characters!

This was an awesomely entertaining romantic suspense story! I had so much fun reading it and was on the edge of my seat while everything played out. It's full of drama, emotion, and a whole lot of sexy.

I loved Peyton and Boone meeting, they had great chemistry. I like learning about Peyton and everything she’d gone through. I liked her perseverance as she moved forward with her life. She had a great strength about her that I really enjoyed. I thought Boone was the sweetest man, thoughtful and caring, and oh so sexy! I liked their development, understood their conflict, and loved learning their histories. There were so many great moments as they open up. I could feel their attraction and loved their heat.

I really liked meeting all the people in the town, Boone’s friends and I loved the friendships Peyton formed, and the new family she’s making for herself. There was a nice introduction to the next couple in the series that I'm curious about. I’m excited to see where it all will go.

At 20%, the story really hit its stride for me and I was all in. The suspense element is great, though I feel it is definitely lighter romantic suspense. There's just enough info to keep you invested and to keep things moving along but it's not overly in depth. I settled in and was enjoying watching Peyton and Boone heal from their past and fall in love, all the while I was guessing what was what and just having fun reading it.

This was entertaining for sure! It’s got drama and action, a nice amount of sexy and a whole lot of healing and love. I totally enjoyed it!

I had seen people talking about this on Twitter and I’m always here for a romantic suspense, so I was eager to get to it.

I really liked Peyton and Boone. They’re both good people who want to love again. I loved the loyalty they had for their family and friends. Kinsley and Remy were both interesting and I liked the dynamic between the women.

Plot wise is where I struggled. There wasn’t any tension or actual suspense. Scenes and phrases were repetitive and there were some cringe-y word choices in their sex scenes. I loved the idea of of this story, but the execution didn’t quite pan out.

Overall, it was the characters that kept me reading. I might read the next book, but mostly because I’m intrigued at the set up.

Peyton Kerr started her life over in Stoney Creek, Maine after a sudden tragedy blew her world apart. She’s loving her small-town life and her easy flirtation with Boone Knight has given her reason to smile. Not wanting the complications of a relationship, Boone finally admits that he’d like to explore the sizzling attraction between him and Peyton when he volunteers to protect his newest and sexiest resident. But he has to convince Peyton to trust him with her past if he wants to keep alive as a merciless killer grows bolder with each passing day.

This romance is explosively sexy and full of breath holding suspense that keeps readers on edge. The characters are bold and captivating with lots of magnetic attraction but what’s more this couple fit together in a way that makes readers smile knowingly. Lots of emotional turmoil and heart gripping emotions ensures that the readers can easily understand the characters’ motivations and desires.

The plots is fast paced and a perfect combination of romance and suspense that keeps readers thoroughly engaged with the story as the suspense builds with some stunning twists and betrayals keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The story is set in a small town which adds intrigue to the atmosphere of the suspense and readers can’t help but relish this juicy combination of sexy, sweet and passionate romance and thrilling suspense.

Good start to a new series. Peyton and Boone are hot from the first kiss. There's angst and a bad guy, plus hot sex. It just lacked some of the usual spark that I'm used to from Ms. Kennedy. Lots of peeps in Stoney Creek to find their own HEAs.

PEYTON is running from the tragic death of the love of her life. Boone is still effected by the betrayal of his ex-wife. Two young soles in Stoney Creek attract like magnets but refuse to acknowledge the attraction. When Detective Boone Knight must investigate a murder in Peyton's shop; they both will have to face the fact that the past never stays in the past. The first book in Stacey Kennedy's new Dangerous Love series was a very enjoyable story. That had a nice mix of sweetness, heat and suspense. Not to mention engaging characters and I liked the second chance element it had. Which was more about characters having the chance to find love again rather than two people who had previously been in a relationship splitting up and then finding their way back to each other. Plus, the actual story was very engaging, well paced, and it easily drew me in. And I'm honestly looking forward to reading more from this series in the future.

I would happily recommend.

Loved this one!! It was the perfect blend of a sexy romance and suspense. It's very well written with a nice easy flow, great characters, and an explosive storyline. City girl Peyton Kerr relocates to small town Maine seeking a fresh start away from the horrors of the city. When tragedy follows her Boone Knight comes into her life. He's the detective investigating the incident and he's worried Peyton is in danger so he vows to protect her. Neither Peyton or Boone are looking for a relationship but sometimes things just happen. Don't miss their story. I highly recommend it.

Naughty Stranger is a fun romance with a touch of sadness and a twist of murder mystery.

Peyton, having recently lost her husband in a surprising and tragic car accident flees to a small town hoping to start a fresh without the memories of her old life sinking her down. She immediately makes a friend in the local bar owner and a potential man friend in the town cop who she just can’t stop thinking about.

But Peyton resolves she needs to let her heart heal more before jumping into something knew. But fate has other plans when her shop becomes a murder scene and her life gets thrown into turmoil that only he can protect her from.

I was going into this expecting a light romance and found this book has a lot packed into it. There are car accidents, murder attempts and other crimes, failed marriages, widows, plenty of sexiness and a whole lot of action. On the one hand it was exciting and went pretty fast, but on the other the amount of stuff going on meant the story doesn’t delve to deep into the issues.

I liked the small town vibes going on and the fast friends made in all the side characters. Of course with a plot this busy there is a fair amount that is a bit on the dramatic side which gives the story a bit of that feel when you watch a tv series set in a small town and you can’t believe all this stuff happens! It was a bit of cheesy fun.

This is a great one to pick up if you want your romance with a side of extra plots. Though I have to say… I don’t quite get the title in relation to the story?

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
I just have to say I loved everything about this story, it is the perfect romantic suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what will happen next.
Peyton Kerr is starting her life over in a new town, the last place she was truly happy. Moving to small-town Stoney Creek, Maine where she bought a small business and a lake house. She loves that no one knows about her past. It is perfect for starting over.
Boone Knight is the sexy police detective that is drawn to Peyton and why not? She did kiss him before she even knew who he was. They have a chemistry that sizzles when they are in the same room. Neither Boone or Peyton are looking for a relationship, because of their past. But why can't they have a little fun together?
When a body turns up in Peyton's shop, her quiet existence is suddenly gone. It seems someone is after her but her life back in Seattle looks perfectly clean on paper.
Can Boone protector her from who is after her? Will Peyton give in to the feelings for Boone? Can Boone and Peyton figure out what is really gone on and why? Will there be a future for Boone and Peyton?
As I said, I loved everything about this story, it is filled with romance, love, lust, suspense, new beginnings, and a HEA. I love Stacey Kennedy, she has a way of drawing you into a story and keeping you hanging on until the end. I highly recommend this story and love that it is the beginning of a series, so more romantic suspense to come. I can not wait.

Naughty Stranger by Stacey Kennedy is book One in the Dangerous Love Series. This is the story of Boone Knight and Peyton Kerr.
Peyton is dealing with her husband's death and moves to Stoney Creek, Maine to start her life again. Boone was married too but his wife cheated on him and was just terrible to him. So Boone isn't wanting or looking for any real or permanent relationships. But when someone is murdered in Peyton's shop is up to Detective Boon to find out who did it and to keep her safe. Which leads to them being thrown together more where they can't ignore their growing feelings.
Loved their story and can't wait for more in this series.

Peyton and Boone were so easy to connect to. Peyton was trying to start over in a new town after losing her husband in a car accident a year before. She felt constantly reminded of her loss in Seattle and decided a move and new career were the fresh start she needed. She makes fast friends with Kinsley, who owns the bar next to her lingerie store. Kinsley also happens to be the sister of Boone, the handsome police detective she is instantly attracted to and trying to avoid.

Boone has baggage of his own. He is divorced and there was a painful story tied to that which explains why he is resistant to pursuing serious relationships. He and Peyton agree to something casual because they can't resist their attraction. Of course, as the book progresses, so do their feelings. Woven through all of this romance is the fact that a murder occurred in Peyton's store and she feels like she's being watched. Boone's protective nature engages and it leads him and Peyton to spending even more time together.

Even though, I was fairly confident that I had figured out the mystery portion of the book early on, I still enjoyed the way the book developed and thought it was a fun read. Also, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I really liked the secondary characters and am glad they'll be getting their own stories.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

I really enjoyed this story combining small town romance with a touch of mystery and suspense.

On her very first night in Stoney Creek where Peyton plans to make a fresh start, she ends the evening kissing a stranger (Boone) outside the local bar, owned by Boone's sister, Kinsley. This was definitely not intentional and given the knocks which both Peyton and Boone have suffered, the chemistry is not something which they want to acknowledge. It sets up the story beautifully though!

Kinsley is instantly a good friend to Peyton, and helps Peyton in her journey of recovery from her loss. Not that anyone knows about that, because Peyton wants to be herself, and not defined as a widow. She doesn't even admit to her past career as an ER nurse, and throws herself fully into her new lingerie store.

Boone also has a past he wants to move past, and as we learn about his betrayal and the loss suffered by Peyton, we can see that they would be perfect for each other - so it is fun watching them dance around and accept the inevitable! But when someone is murdered in her store, and an accident befalls Peyton, Boone is determined to both protect her and discover what is at the bottom of the events.

I liked the twist; there are strong hints, but it is cleverly revealed and dealt with in a satisfying way. We also get some hints of who will star in future installments, but I do hope that we continue to get news of this lovely and deserving couple.

Naughty Stranger by Stacey Kennedy
Dangerous Love #1

Sometimes the perfect book comes my way just when I need it and today there could not have been a better book for me to read. I fell in love with the characters, supporting characters and town as they came together to welcome Peyton Kerr and then support and protect her when bad things began to happen. The dynamics between Peyton and Boone Knight sizzled and their chemistry was instantaneous and undeniable. They were perfect together and reading their story made me happy...in spite of all that happened to make it at times rather suspenseful.

Peyton was someone I could see myself being once in my life. I have been an RN and young and in love. I have not experienced the heartbreak that Peyton did but can empathize. And Boone...talk about a heartthrob and perfect book boyfriend! I loved that they truly saw and got to know one another, shared and cared and all the rest. I enjoyed the mystery of who was out to kill people and how the police followed the clues. I loved meeting Asher and Rhett – Boone’s friends and colleagues on the police force. Kinsley and Remy were great girl friends for Peyton and always there for her.

I think one thing that came through to me in this book is that we really should make the most of every moment we have because that is all any of us are sure of. Live and love and experience life even when it is dark because even in the dark there is usually a bit of light.

Did I enjoy this book? Definitely!
Would I like to read more in this series? I can’t wait!

[Library book ... but I'm buying a copy]

So.

Stacey Kennedy (I think) is a hit or miss author for me - but when it's a hit it's a big hit.
Peyton and Boone - and I don't even like their names! - heh - BUT! This story!
so ...
It was kinda annoying how INSISTENT Peyton was that none of this was "about" her. Like ... I guess I'm too suspicious? Granted sure the store murder with burglary COULD have been random ... although the fact that the poor girl who died looked like her ... and THEN the car thing. THEN THE FREAKING ATTACK - which yeah finally at that point she's like "oh holy shit."

But! Boone is just so sweet.
And their chemistry. WHOO.

It's sizzling. Very sexy.
No assholes, great secondary characters ...

I even really loved all the parents. ALL OF THEM!

[Still so obvious re: the villain. Insert eyeroll
And :X what Kinsley did. Friend. :X]

ANYWAY.

Gosh I kinda expect this book to be my favorite of the trilogy, but if the other ones are even better I'm going to be not just pleasantly surprised but THRILLED. :D
[Can't wait for Kinsley and Rhett but yikes :X that one sounds rough. As does Remy and Asher. And ugh why are so many heroes named Asher now...]

My biggest complaint is kinda the end, how it was such an obvious hook for Remy and Asher/it totally takes the spotlight away from Peyton and Boone.

You can never go wrong with a Stacey Kennedy book. Her writing is perfection and the characters stories are so well written.

In Naughty Stranger, we meet Boone (holy hotness) and Peyton. Boone is an amazing detective, but due to past experiences he doesn’t trust his instincts anymore. Peyton is dealing with so much, plus she has just opened up her business when everything starts happening.

Detective Boone Knight knows something doesn’t feel right about what’s going on, but is it his growing feelings for Peyton or should he trust his gut again? My heart broke for Peyton and everything that she had to face, but she is a strong woman and I loved seeing her happy.

Can’t wait to get Asher and Remy’s book next and then we get Rhett and Kinsley’s book. I love the beginning of this new series from Stacey Kennedy and urge everyone to grab it as soon as it is released.

Peyton moves from Seattle to a little town in Maine to start over after losing her husband. Boone is a detective in this little town and they meet and kiss her first day there. Fast forward a month or so of Peyton ignoring Boone but becoming fast friends with his sister, they are suddenly thrown together again because of a murder. What starts as mutual attraction and keeping things casual, turns to so much more as Boone tries to solve a murder and keep Peyton safe.

I really wasn't sure about this one at first, but I ended up really enjoying it. I was crazy about Boone, loved Peyton, and most of the secondary characters. Although I swear at times I was thinking, "these people are a little too perfect." Everyone was looking for some secret in regards to Peyton and there was not a flaw in her past. Like, never.

Anyway, once I really got into this one I didn't want to put it down. I can't say that the suspense part was the best because I was about 99% sure "whodunnit" very early in the novel. But other than that, this was a steamy and romantic read.

Naughty Stranger is the first standalone book in Stacey Kennedy’s new series, Dangerous Love, and it’s a steamy and emotional romance with a generous dose of intrigue and suspense. Peyton was recently widowed and has moved to the small town of Stoney Creek to start over again. She shares an impulsive, passionate kiss with a stranger and discovers that he is her friend’s brother, Boone, who is a local detective. Although neither want a relationship, their chemistry can’t be denied, and when someone is murdered, Boone instinctually wants to protect Peyton. The unpredictable twists and turns of this story will keep you on the edge of your seat and rooting for Peyton and Boone every step of the way.

I thought this story was just okay but I also read this at a time when I was going through a reading slump and didn't really love anything I was reading. I wouldn't steer anyone away from reading this book because I don't really have a problem with the writing or the story. It's more of an "it's not you, it's me" situation and this is probably a book that I will have to come back to in the future to see if it really was just my mood.

Let's get one thing straight: Kennedy knows how to capture your interest from the first line. She has not disappoint. My reading enjoyment rises to the Nth degree when you can hook me with the first chapter. Naughty Stranger gives you a sexy edge of your seat mystery.
Peyton is smart, beautiful and the new girl in town. Boone Knight is the local detective who is trying to solve a murder in a town where such crimes are very rare. He believes this crime is tied to Peyton's past. Peyton is starting a new life and putting her heartbreak past behind her. However, mysterious Peyton believes its just a random crime. Boone believes differently and vows to protect Peyton. The sexy hero becomes Peyton's one time lover to full time protector.
Are you looking to start a new series? Try the Dangerous Love series. A steamy and thrilling love story wrapped in suspense and danger. Honestly, if you are not reading Stacey Kennedy, you NEED to jump on board.
