My five-year-old granddaughter loved this book. She played I spy with my little eye and found all sorts of pleasing objects and detail.

One of those delightful books from the Metropolitan Museum, NYC, that encourage children (and adults) to look closely at works of art and to notice things that might otherwise be overlooked.
I was glad for the identification of each picture and its artist in the final pages of the book. Some of the pictures had been cropped enough or the printed colors sufficiently indistinct that I enjoyed pulling those up on the Metropolitan Museum site, which is so excellent and easy to use to find items in its collection. I suspect I will someday do the same when sharing this with a child.
