A cute little book filled with quotes and short quips of Jewish heritage along with 1970s photos of important Biblical locations.

[The] little flower paused for a moment...then continued her discourse. "Roses are like people. They live in deeds, not in time. My glory was but for a brief hour, but you should have seen the joy in the bride's eye. I like to believe that I had something to do with it, by creating suitable setting for the moment of her supreme happiness. So don't grieve for me. My life has been worthwhile."

There were a few quotes from the Talmud and now the Talmud is on my To-Read list. That's how books and reading function. Yea!

This is a book from Hallmark probably as a gift option for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah boy or girl. It contains various quotations and small essays on Judaism and Jewish existence. It is appropriate even today.

This book might or might not be appropriate for an Orthodox Jew. I am an Orthodox Jew and I noticed things in the book that I WOULD allow my own children to see. After all, they see it every day, but other Orthodox Jews might disagree with me. Just saying.

I might read this book again.

Majority of the quotes are from modern times, not the best overview and historical account of Jewish belief and experience. Still a decent message.
