Probably meant for someone who either knows absolutely nothing about guns but wants to know a lot or someone who needs to know a lot as part of their job.

The author seems very knowledgeable on the subject and seems to love it as well. Sounds like he was an excellent police officer and someone you don't want to get on the wrong side of. Then or now.

A bit long but a lot of good information.

In truth, I haven't read this cover to cover. But the rest would be more helpful once I have a firearm. Practicality made me stop.

Perfect choice for the beginner. Covers more than just guns in an easy to understand, practical and intelligent manner. The author worked in law enforcement for 23 years.
