Much has changed since this book has been published. So what was revolutionary then is now pretty much common & part of the average, everyday lexicon. What was a brief interior decorating fad in 70's spawned into a common style once Loft spaces became trendy in the 80's and then just another living option in the 90's. The Proliferation of the big-box hardware stores and the ability to order from Industrial & Office Supply stores on-line make incorporating this style an almost non-existent hassle. Furniture stores like Ikea, CB2 et alia and design magazines like Dwell make buying or garnering ideas simple.

Many of the ideas in this book have generally been recycled or expanded in other books and magazines. Why spend a bunch of money on expensive interior design books and magazines when you buy this book Used for next to nothing online or check it out at the Library.

What seems particularly strange now is this contemporary trend of turning Lofts into more or less tacky Condos w/o exposed ducts & dry wall instead of worn bricks walls, more or less decorating them to look like they could be right out of an issue of Martha Stweart 'Living.' Open floor plans are all the rage but then you negate it w/stupid kitchen island w/ a marble counter-top ? If one wants their Loft to look like an actual loft & not a suburban home in Winnetka, pick up this book...
