Frequently charming and really rather beautifully done, this 90th anniversary edition of the Milly-Molly-Mandy stories is a lovely thing. It's been a long time since I read Milly-Molly-Mandy and if you're the same, here's a brief refresher. There's nothing quite like going back and reading a book that you used to love as a kid. Still enjoyed it now.

Great as a transition between picture books and more advanced reading because of the use of repeating phrases in each stories (if I read 'nice white cottage with the thatched roof where Milly-Molly -Mandy lived' one more time...).
Milly-Molly-Mandy could do with being less of a goody-goody but that's my only complaint.

Sweet little collection of stories. My 6 and 3 year old loved them more than I did; there isn’t much that happens but they were intrigued by how things were different in her world and I think the simplicity appealed to them.

Wonderful as always.

I was probably eight or nine when I first read this book and I read it or tried to read it a few times. I don't think that I would like it now though.

Shelves: childhood
Upon finding it under my bed and re-reading it thought it was very twee, can see why my sister didn't like my taste in books when we were children!
