Millions of Americans remember Dick and Jane (and Sally and Spot, too!). Now Dick and Jane and all their pals are back with revised editions of these classic readers for a whole new generation of readers to enjoy!
Jump and Run Sally said, "Oh, look. Mother can jump. Mother can jump and play."
It had been quite some time since I had seen a Dick and Jane book. The 1950's style illustrations are absolutely lovely. Tot very much enjoyed it. I'm sure we'll be reading many more of these.
I said, "5 stars means amazing, do you *really* think this book was amazing?" And Tema said, "To me it is cuz I'm reading it good!" That sums it up. This is the firt thing that my just-finished-kindergartner has been able to read on his own. It feels great to see his face light up with pride that he's really reading it on his own. Yea for Dick and Jane, Puff and Spot, Sally, Mother and Father!!
Simple reader great for beginners and those still building their skills. Starts out really basic and gets a little harder as the "chapters" progress. Short book, most likely sections of the old readers broken down into smaller books.
LOL remembering when I was in school and that was our first books. Didn't think they were still around. Given as a book to read as a joke, but laughed when reading them thinking when I was a kid this was the coolest book.
Notes: these are the best early readers available repetitive vocabulary with family-based 'stories' beautiful illustrations (maybe not a 5 star book but in this category these books shine!)
