Esther becomes fixated on Valentine’s Day as a marker of her romantic failure, and decides to fully activate her drama field for the first time in a long time, in an attempt to “Win Big At Love”. It’s going to be great. No, really.

I'm really enjoying McGraw and Esther's developing friendship. The line about him taking her seriously really hit home for me as a long time fan of the series. The art, as always, was on point. Daisy took action and made some friends and Susan... Susan just kept on truckin'. Kept on keeping on. Giant Days is quickly approaching issue 50, and I can't wait to see what they do with it! ...more

Welcome Back!

Wow! So as I type this I realize I am writing a review about Giant Days issue number 44! That's a lot of issues and I love this series so much, I know the end of the series was just announced recently and it broke my heart. However, I intend to reread this series often whenever I am needing some Esther, Daisy, Susan, Ed, or McGraw in my life. I have slowly begun purchasing all of the volumes and as the series wraps up I will continue to collect them all so I can return down memory l

Feels a bit like a return to the odd atmosphere of Bad Machinery or the Giant Days prequel run, but given the romantic frenzy of Valentines, it was quite entertaining to see Esther's antics. All three of our MCs had a share of the spotlight, and Susan's fit her perfectly. Seeing Daisy grow into her job, even while receiving a bit of help, was also nice to see.

The ending felt rather pat, but as it had to do with side-characters, I didn't mind it much. A bit of a filler holiday issue?

Ah, Giant Days. I love nothing more than to read and relax with this series. It’s so fun and quirky, and while it does have an interesting plot I know it’ll all work out. Probably. So it doesn’t stress me out too much.
Apparently it’s Valentine’s Day for this issue, which sounds like exactly the sort of chaos these girls probably don’t need. Esther is a walking disaster, romantically speaking. Daisy is still recovering from her breakup. Suzie is the only one in a stable relationship, but the pr

Richard and Esther were cute! (I didn't understand the train thing, though. Why was Esther so pissed about that?)

Daisy: I´m going to spent Valembrines loving myself this year.
Esther: Figuratively, I assume, not physically.

...

Some girl to Susan: Don´t hold back, Susan. We´re in the medical school.
Some guy to Susan: Yeah, if my heart stops because you say something romantic.
We can restart it.

...

Susan: They mocked me, Ess. They said I don´t have a romantic bone in my body.
Esther: Huh, I´m ALL romantic bones. It aches on a cosmic level..

I just love Esther and Susan. These two give me joy!

A Valentine's issue right after Halloween didn't feel right at all, but I did love this issue. Any glimpse into Susan and McGraw's relationship makes me a little giddy, and seeing Susan bond with the students on her floor is always great. Seeing Esther's interest in architecture and science is always a nice reminder of how well-rounded these characters are. I love that she fangirls as much over those subjects as she does everything else she's into. ...more

3.5 Stars. That love plot line with Ester was so quick, and I wish it had been drawn out over several issues.
