This was a wealth of information on bees!
I do think that it is likely not for tiny humans under the age of 10 years.
It is slightly wordy. I found it wonderfully interesting and look forward to seeing bees in a new light this spring!

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Leaping Hare Press for this DRC.

I am so IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK!! Gosh!! I love, love, love BEES and this is an incredible journey through their Biology, behaviour and daily lives. The information is precise and the illustrations are very beautiful! Although I had already studied Bee´s Biology and behaviour last year, this book did not fail to amaze me! Must buy a copy to my collection in the future! Recommended for nature lovers - Adults and children alike. Thank you Netgalley for my digital ARC in exchange for an honest revie ...more

Just a good and accessible documentary about bees. Lot of contents, easy to read, good quality pictures to go with it. We learn about bees of course, what they are, where they lives, etc., but we also learn about why they are so important in nature, with the pollenization and all. Kids will learn a lot, but adults might learn as well! Good job!

I am a new beekeeper and was thrilled to read Love Bees - A Family Guide to Keep Bees Buzzing - by Vanessa Amaral-Rogers

I received an advanced digital copy in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own. Unfortunately, my digital version did not contain the last pages, “index and acknowledgements,” so I don’t know if my one critique is addressed there. What I find missing from this book is ‘where to go next.’ I feel like the author did a fantastic job of c

Love Bees is a fun and scientifically correct introduction and guide to different species of bees and their characteristics. Author (and conservation biologist) Vanessa Amaral-Rogers has written an engaging and colorful book aimed at younger readers, but with enough DIY and good ideas to get the entire family (or school) involved.

Due out 19th March 2019 on Quarto's Leaping Hare imprint, it's 48 pages and available in hardcover format.

I've been trying to learn more about what I can do to help the bees. As I learn, I teach my grandchildren and neighbor children what bees do for us and how important they are to everyone. I've been planting bee gardens and using fewer chemicals that affect them. I now know so much more that I can incorporate into my gardening and yard care that will not harm bees and help them do their job. A great family friendly book that can easily be used for teaching and learning. If more people would read ...more

With the Bee population on the decline, the world may begin to change for the worse, even more so than it already has. Love Bees is a way to help rebuild their population, and maybe if everyone does what this book says, help the planet in a major way. Inside this book is an easy to follow, though directed towards children, very informative book that benefits everyone who reads it. So what are you waiting for? The bee population won't fix itself.

Richly Detailed ~ Clear ~ Informative

tl;dr: Bees need us, and this book explains what we need to do.

This book is a wonderful resource for everyone, children and adults alike. The all-ages text explains the situation with bees in a clear manner, but also, most importantly, offers concrete steps to help with this problem. The text is particularly strong, with specific actionable steps. The illustrations are useful, and detailed. Some passages of the visuals are really lovely, while others feel ou

Fantastic book geared towards kids to teach them all about bees and why they are so important to us. This book goes into exploring bees and their habitats in a very positive way. Would be great as a reference in a classroom or library.

Love Bees by Vanessa Amaral-Rogers teaches kids about the value of bees to the planet, and to humanity. Different types of bees are covered, along with bee behaviours and habitats. I must say I had no idea there were purple bees! There are plenty of cool facts, too. Such as, vanilla in Madagascar & Indonesia is pollinated by hand! And the ancient Egyptians floated beehives down the Nile so crops would get pollinated all along the river. Children can learn to make bee homes and plant bee-friendly ...more

I love this guide to bees of all sorts, from honeybees to violet solitary bees, plasterers and papermakers. Enjoy the lavishly illustrated pages, colourful and artistic. The process of pollination is simply explained with other uses for bees, such as honey, following. We learn how hives work and how solitary bees help us too.

A family, a school nature class, Guides and Scouts and any visitor centre for a location that promotes pollinator-friendly ideas or keeps bees, would love this book. As I d

Beautifully illustrated so vibrant and colourful. Jam packed full of information but fun for the children and educates them (and us) on the varieties, their habitats and wildlife around them. Definitely a book to get for a family.
