Lovers can just as easily become enemies and in this second chance romance we see one couple defy the odds and become lovers once again. Annabelle Mills and Boone Graham don't have a pleasant high school romance history to tell their friends, they have a story about cheating and heartbreak and avoidance. College-aged now, both are successful in their own right, with Boone forecasted to join a MLB team in Texas and Anna's face gracing television scr

"We love each other more than we annoy each other. We love each other more than our mistakes."

That quote pretty much sums up Boone and Annabelle's relationship.

You're the One I Don't Want is a standalone contemporary (side of sports) romance novel with snippets from characters in her book, The Tenth Girl.

I have to admit that I found Annabelle to be a bit annoying and a drama queen, but I liked that Carrie explained Annabelle's actions throughout the book. It didn't take away from
When I first read the blurb, I was like "heck yeah, enemies to lovers" and boy was I right the heat between these two are off the charts. I like that Boone is insistent on getting his college degree before signing on the dotted line for his baseball career. Annabelle has a history of being ruthless, for only being a college intern on a home improvement show (similar to everyone's fav on HGTV) she's made quite a name for herself. When she's presented with a lucrative offer, she has to decide whet ...more

Horrible idea for a book... ridiculous!

Why would this author think this would be a good idea? I read the first book and thought that it was decent. When I saw that this was the sequel I immediately downloaded. I read the first book when it came out, so some of the details were blurry. As I started reading this I had forgotten who “Anna” was. Then I got a little father into it and realized that it was indeed the “mean girl” witch with a b from the first book. I kept reading thinking there must b

Not for me

Anna's character is not likeable. I can't relate to her reason for causing the breakup. Boone is too good for her. Instead of hoping for a happy ending, you just want the ending to come.

This was book like a breath of fresh air for me and something light hearted and sweet - prefect for the book hangover I had to endure post reading Heartbreak Warfare. And I really like this one, and had a gala, cheerful time reading this. I will break my review into different sections and lay my thought accordingly.
Storyline - This is a hate turned to love kind of story and there was no too much hatred or evil intents from either if the two (Boone and Anna), it was still refreshingly different.
Cocktails and Books
I'm bummed because I didn't like this book as much as I liked The Tenth Girl. I just didn't feel the connection between Boone and Annabelle. There was so much baggage between the two of them that was never dealt with until after things fell apart.
I am all for sexual equality. But not cheating. Nope. Not. That will put you in the bitch slut category. And her reason (?!🤔🤮) for cheating ( not with one guy but 2🤢🤢) is so lame it embarrasses the entire woman population. And the author wants to redeem such person?! Not on my time.

“That’s not true at all. I saw you. I’ve always seen you. Christ, Anna, it’s impossible not to see you. You’re radiant; the word beautiful was created specifically to describe you.".

Second chances. That's what the book is about. How much can we forget a past sorrow, forgive, and move on? Annabelle and Boone dated in high school. She, the beauty queen, cheerleader and popular girl. He the athlete prodigy on the rise. A relationship that started well, but took a different turn. The two ended up di

Annabelle's is hard and bitchy on the outside to protect what little of her heart she has left. She wasn't enough for her own mother, so she knows she'll never be enough for anyone else. These insecurities cause her to make some not smart choices, and she only has herself to blame. She broke Boone Grahams heart in high school and now years later they are living in the same town and attending the same college. They both feel wronged by the other and

You're The One I Don't Want is a cute second chance romance that follows the lives of Annabelle & Boone. If you've read The Tenth Girl, then you are already familiar with Annabelle. She's not exactly the type of character who is easy to love. She is beautiful, smart and talented, but also very selfish and insensitive. She hasn't seen her ex, Boone, in five years. Then suddenly, she finds that he is back in Texas to play baseball at the very college that she herself is attending.

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Ah young love. It's messy and emotional. And someone almost always ends up with a broken heart. In this case it was two people with broken hearts. Both Annabelle and Boone had a lot going on when they were teenagers. Neither of them talked about their feelings or their homelives and Annabelle makes a decision that breaks them apart.

Now it is a few years later and they are both still in college, but Annabelle is a rea

I have to say that I liked this book but there were a few things that I did not like in the books. For starters Annabelle the main character was a straight up biatch and she is mean and annoying and a huge a$$ drama queen who does not care who she hurts. That I did not like at all and the way she treated Boone at first made me want to reach through my kindle and shuttle kick her right in the face.

Boone oh I loved Boone because he is recovering from a heartbreak. That Biatch cheated on him and th

“Do you or do you not? 5 stars”

Annabelle has one goal in life and that’s to make a name for herself so maybe finally her mother will reach out. See Annabelle is used to not being important to those around her even though that’s all she’s ever wanted. She just wants someone to put her first and make her feel wanted. At one time she thought that person was Boone but when he proved her wrong, she acted out. Now he’s back in her life and she’s doing the ad

You're the One I Don't Want had a bit of everything. A second chance romance with a bit of sports thrown in the mix and a touch of enemies to lovers.

Annabelle and Boone were once an item in high school. But something happened, something that Anna did that subsequently ended their relationship. I couldn't stand Anna. I found her to be bratty and annoying. There was no logic to what she did to Boone. Just because he didn't respond to h

You're the One I Don't Want is a stand-alone romance, that is fun and full of lust and dislike and a lot of heart. I haven't read many of Aarons' books however I may need to change that now.

Annabelle is a bit of a drama queen and I found that I didn't really care for her initially. Aarons does a great job of showing us why Annabelle is the way she is and you can see past those flaws that might have you getting annoyed with her. I was so excited to watch this relationship unfold between Annabell

I liked the sound of this book and I'm a fan of this author however this book just didn't hit the mark for me.

Neither of the main characters came across as very likeable. Annabelle seemed such a self absorbed young woman and Boone was impulsive and hot headed. I just couldn't connect with either the story or the characters.

Beautifully written and it gives you all the feels.
I loved Annabelle and her attitude...she may seem impermeable but she is a tough chick with a heart as big as Texas!! And dang...that man is something else.
This book was just amazing!! Ms. Aarons...hit it out of the ballpark with this one!!

This is a DNF for me. I’m a sucker for baseball books. I love anything baseball so I jumped at the gun to read this one. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite storylines. I made it to 36% and I gave up. Boone was delicious. He had a good head on his shoulders and made sure to be prepared for the future. Annabelle was a totally different story. She was a rip. She broke his heart back in high school and thought he owed her the world. She was so mean to him but cried when he gave her a taste of h ...more

Enemies to lovers!!How much more delicious tension can you possibly want?

High school "hanging out" turned bitter nastiness because of bad choices and self-esteem issues. Annabelle and Boone are about to come face to face with their past- in real live Technicolor. Heated tempers, jealous fits, and snark abound in the pages of this Tenth Girl follow up.

Buckle up for this enemies-to-lovers/second chance romance!!!!

The synopsis begins with “Love is weakness.” The two characters, Annabelle and Boone, live their lives by that mantra. Annabelle strictly lives by that rule because of her past and her abandonment issues. Boone feels that way because of Annabelle. The two were somewhat involved in high school and ended up breaking each other’s hearts, although she was the one who cheated on him. You might think their story ends there, but that turns

You’re the One I Don’t Want is Carrie Aarons’ next standalone novel. If you read The Tenth Girl then you have already met Annabelle. She wasn’t exactly a favored character but she did redeem herself so I was excited when I put two and two together. I didn’t read the synopsis so I figured it out early on in the book. Lol

Five years. It had been five years since they were in the same state and now they are in the same city. Her plan was to avoid him. Austin was a big city so it wasn’t likely they

Talk about thawing the heart of an ice princess, You're the One I Don't Want by Carrie Aarons is the perfectly written story of Annabelle Mills. I was introduced to Annabelle in The Tenth Girl and I'm going, to be honest, I did not think there would be a way that Mrs. Aarons could make Annabelle a likable character for me but she proved me wrong.

Annabelles need for validation had her making the biggest mistake in her life and breaking the heart of her high school boyfriend. Time has past and the

Wow, this book was great! It has a fresh take on romance, lust, and trust!

Annabelle Mills is definitely something else, I am just not quite sure what exactly. She is not your normal leading lady, being a COMPLETELY closed off ice queen. She is EXTREMELY motivated to live her dream and be successful. She works as an intern on a super popular house fixer-upper show in Austin. She is always "on" and confident and closing herself off to others. She owns being an ice queen. It is both really awesome

Boone and Annabelle was a great couple. Now, Annabelle isn’t quite the female I’d be friends with… she’s a bit extreme with her drama and it annoyed me off and on. Really though, I don’t have to want to be besties with the characters to like the book… it might help. Where Annabelle bugged me a bit, Boone was like my hero! He has so much patients for Annabelle and her antics. That’s the kind of man you want… you’ll know he’ll make all those pesky problems all go away with his kind and gentile way ...more

You're the One I Don't Want is a second chance romance featuring Annabelle and Boone. Annabelle broke Boone's heart in high school. Now they are living in the same city and fate keeps throwing them together. Their happiness depends on them being able to heal the hurts from the past.

I have some mixed feelings about this book. I love second chance romances. However, I initially had a hard time liking this one. I found Boone and Annabelle really angry toward each other. So, I had a hard ti

Annabelle was such a complicated girl that you can relate to her. She’s so independent and it’s admirable but she hides all of her kindness with being an ice princess. She’s focused and determined until her high school crush is back in the picture. Annabelle and Boone had a short lived relationship in high school that didn’t end well. They hadn’t seen each other in 5 years. Boone has never forgotten her but wasn’t in a rush to see her.

These two had their own set of issues. They couldn’t stand to

You're The One I Don't Want is a standalone, but it's closely tied to The Tenth Girl. Much of Anna and Boone's backstory stems from events that happened in TTG, so it's a good point of reference. Plus, TTG was a fantastic YA romance, and I loved catching up with Cain and Harper now that they are all in college, so it's definitely worth a read!

So on to You're The One I Don't Want: Ice queen Anna has some major demons. Everything she does is to seek out the approval of the mother who abandoned her

Author of romance novels such as Red Card and Privileged, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the stories she dreams up, and the yoga pants dress code, much better.

When she isn’t writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She lives in the suburbs
