I like the second book more than the first book. Here the character development flourishes and some of them are lovable. The last book ended with a tragic cliffhanger. Gaia and Raoul's family have been poisoned. Barely hanging for her life she calls for help. There is a virus which needs to be stopped.

There is a love triangle which I didn't like. I like Raoul but I like him less in this book and then there is Dominique who is interesting and enjoyable but we see very little of him.

Overall I lik

Thank you Jennifer for this ARC!

This book picked right up where the first one ended. It's another one full of twist and turns, full of suspense. Gaia was stronger in this book, you can tell she is growing in her position as Queen. I think she will continue to get stronger, she is still a little to trusting. Raoul was an a@@ and really hurtful to Gaia, it will take a lot of me to like him again. He didn't have very many scenes in this book. Dominique is still my favorite. We learn more about his

This addicting series will keep you hooked with it's fast paced suspense and drama!

If I'm being honest, I'm really into this series right now, way more than I expected! It has the perfect mix of drama, suspense and romance (well, this book lacked on the romance end - but I'm sure more will come).

If I'm comparing it to other works, it feels like 25% Game of Thrones (for some of it's more violent content), 25% Reign (drama and royalty) and 50% soap opera. This book specifically started out with a

I received this e-book from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

I read Intricate deception a short while ago and the end was Cliffhanger.
Intricate Intention was also quick pace and easy read like the first one.

*Spoilers for those who haven't read the first book*

Gaia with the family of Raoul was poisoned with Xilinatric Bioda(XB virus), but due to some unknown reason Gaia was able to remain conscious and able to ask for help, All of them are in the hospital and partially paralyzed. Gaia

This and the first book both were provided to me as e-books in exchange for an honest review

This was as good as the first book of the series. After the sudden and tragic end of the last book this book picks up directly from there and the pace doesn't stop throughout. While our heroes (Gaia, Raoul, Dominique) found themselves in one danger after another, we also found more and more about the villains and Jennifer you beauty what an end to this book as well. I really liked both the books and now I

Definitely waaay better than the first book. Not to mention the writing, it improved a lot.

Queen Gaia is back to bring down enemies after the tragic incident on 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. Despite being a young queen, she's doing great at her job with the help of her advisor, Jared. I like her on this one a lot, so determined and strong. Independent that I don't find myself shipping her too much with her two love interests, I'm actually fine with her being alone at the end.

Too many things happening th

*The Author ever so kindly sent me this book in exchange for an honest review*

The second part of the series was more of telling extra bits on stuff not told in Book 1. There came new characters that played a small role in the last book. A few characters' past was discussed. The issues faced were resolved. But the story didn't proceed anywhere. I hope 3rd book in the series will do justice.

Okay, so the last book I was a bit frustrated about the way it ended. I mean, seriously, nooooo. Luckily for me, I didn't have to wait too long (2 months) before picking up book 2. Much like the first, this was fast paced. I enjoyed switching between the different characters and seeing their point of view and how they fit into this puzzle. We get to be inside some pretty twisted minds but I like knowing their back story and the desperation they feel to push them to the point where they are where ...more

I received this book along with the other two books in the series for reading and giving my honest review of them I have chosen to review them separate because... Where the first book had issues for me, this one more than made up for it. I really like the story line way better that I now know more about the characters..I still kinda wish the author went into detail more because I want to be there with her characters as they go through their journey.. but she still did an amazing job. I received an electronic copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This is the second book in the series and picked up right where the first book left off which I always appreciate.

This book had just as many twists and turns as the first one and kept me engaged the entire time, wondering what would happen next. The cliffhanger ending shocked me. 😳

I love the mystery that is unfolding in this series and can’t wait to see how it all ends.

Again a brilliant book full of shocking twists and dangers. The story was so intriguing that it kept me going, and every time I had to leave the book unfinished, my mind kept wandering around the characters and story. Gaia discovered so many truths and faces life threatening dangers along with Raoul. Dominique really emerged as a hero. They both are so brave . Again ends with a cliffhanger and desperately waiting to finish the next one.

This is the second book in the Intricate series and it was provided to me by the author for an honest review.
The series just keeps getting better and better. I love the pace of the story. Once you start it's hard to put down and luckily it's not overly long. The character interactions feel real and it's a joy to read. I would like a bit more romance but with everything going on its understandably difficult. I can't wait to dive into book three.

A short while ago I read and reviewed a fantastic book called Intricate Deceptions. Intricate Deceptions is written by the superb Jennifer Rayes and in Intricate Deceptions, Rayes brings us a story about a young woman named Gaia who awakens in a cell, only to break free and start a journey in which she will discover the truths of her past. Intricate Intentions is book two in this series and the reader will once again follow Gaia on her journey, but before I discuss the story of Intricate Intenti ...more

This follow up has a few more Characters to follow than the first. I am one to get confused when there are too many names going around but I managed alright.
It does really feel like a middle book, gives more background and explanation to the story and Characters but nothing major happened.
A pleasant read but I hope for a little more magic in the last book.

Disclaimer: the author provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

After that intense cliffhanger, I was happy to jump right back into the story with it picking up right where the first one ended. This book was another suspenseful thriller, making it impossible to put down. Jennifer writes in such an eloquent way that speed reading is not a problem. Details are hardly overlooked, while storyline and characters are not exhausted or over-played. Overall, I gave this

Queen Genevieve (widow/Gaia’s mother) was still feeling sad about her husband’s recent murder.
Queen Gaia Trouaux (Ica) was lying on the floor very sick. But she would soon rule the roost.
Albert (Raoul’s butler) helped her up.
King Raoul Delaway (Ica) was by her side unconscious.
The paramedics were on their way.
Professor Thomas (boss, estate owner) was telling Collin (father) a Xilinatric Bioda (XB) virus sample is missing.

This book was brilliant, very fast paced and exciting, never a dull moment. I actually read it all in one sitting I couldn't tear myself away.

The plotline for this book was quite interesting, a toxin that can kill you in minutes, the threat of biological warfare and a cure that one man has the answers to and won't give up...ooh how the plot thickens...

I found this much more enjoyable than the first book, the plotlines where very intriguing and I liked learning a lot more about Dominique, especi

I will preference this with saying that I was contacted by the Author Jennifer Rayes to read and review her book Intricate Intentions.

I found my self a little confused at first when I started reading the second book in the Intricate series as there where no chapters designated but character names that started each chapter. I did like seeing the POV of each of the major characters in the story as it helped you to see how every thing was playing out around the same time as other events. I did fin

I'm in Full-On Binge Mode
The first book, the aptly named "Intricate Deceptions" intrigued me from the start. While the characters were pretty easy to get into and the plot was lightning-quick, it took me a few chapters to adjust to the world the author was building.

At this point, intrigue and mystery have led to absolute binge reading. I can't seem to get my head out of this world now. It seems like no one is really who or what they portray themselves to be, and heaven help a person who can't re

This second book seemed to pick up right where the last one ended. Despite the fact that the plot is building more and has some twists thrown in, I feel like I enjoyed the first book more than the second.

During this book, Gaia has started growing more into her role as Queen of Ica, and what a badass queen she is becoming. She is kind hearted, fierce, strong and is not showing any mercy to those that do wrong. In this second book, we are introduced to more character and while I don't like some s

I give Intricate Intentions (Intricate, #2) 5 stars for picking up right where Intricate Deceptions left off and introducing more characters, more suspense, more thrills and plot twists than you can imagine.

Jennifer Rayes has delivered more information to this great tale, with lots of twists and turns that I really did not see coming. Her writing is amazing and as you read you actually feel like you are directly there with the characters.

Book two picks up right were book one left off. This one is just as fast-paced as book one and there are still so many surprises, twists and turns and shocking revelations that will continue to keep you on the edge of your seat in anticipation of what would happen next. I was enthralled and highly entertained from beginning to the very shocking cliffhanger ending!

“She was warned her actions would lead to consequences, but she hadn’t expected her enemies to retaliate so quickly, or so brutally.”

Another enjoyable book in the series. This one lacked something for me, it was possibly because Raoul didn’t appear often and I’m still hoping he’ll get the girl in the triangle. In saying that there were so many good elements that have me caught up in this story. Gaia is a strong female role, going up against her royal family and the traffickers, however she grew
