Alien Prince's Mermaid

Rate this book
When it comes to finding a mate, should something so important be left to technology?

Bound by duty and a contract between Trilyn and earth, even a prince has to learn his place. But when it comes to matters of the heart, sometimes there are no rules.

There’s nothing romantic about choosing your mate with the help of technology, and Prince Darbnix, there’s nothing he’s less interested in than using a scanner to find his true love, but he’s also tired of fighting with his older brother about them. A human plot almost tricked the eldest Trilyn prince into marrying the wrong woman, but Darbnix has other plans. He’ll go through the motions of the grand parties, to please his brother, but his heart won’t be in it.

When the pact between the Trilyn and Earth was solidified, Dr. Rose Rand decided that the future of her veterinary career lay in exo-livestock, the care and healing of alien creatures fascinated her. But when she was called upon to examine a royal pet, she never imagined that she would be falling in love with a Trilyn prince intent on giving up his search for a compatible bride.

When Prince Darbnix’s match is found in a southern beauty queen, someone he never would have chosen for his bride, his suspicions flare. Can he and Rose discover the truth behind the manipulation of the compatibility scanners and reach their own happily ever after? Or will Darbnix have to turn aside his love for Rose and follow his brother’s command?

There's no mermaid. In fact they are based in a land locked area

It makes no sense!!! They never even go near water. And are farmers. The story is a rinse and repeat of the last one very disappointing

I thought the first one of this series was bad, but this is SO MUCH WORSE.

The writing is pretty abysmal, it's set in a landlocked state, and the only place where the word "mermaid" ever occurs is in the title. In fact, the author makes a LOT of references to farmland. Like, constantly.

And the ending is beyond ridiculous. Completely beyond. This was just an embarrassment. I can't believe someone would admit to writing this. It's completely impossible to even say what fairytale this is supposed to be from.

So the series continues with the brothers trying to find their genetic match. With Gardex already mated the pressure is on for the rest of them to find mates too. So Darbnix has expressed his concerns about the BIAS scanner it's been 3 years neither him or his brothers has found their mate. After the huge fiasco that his brother Gardex experience with the scanner he having doubts and is wondering why Gardex is forcing them to use it. So let's just say things kinda spiral out of control from there. Since I'm not one to give spoilers you'll just have to check it out for yourself to see what happens. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read can't wait to see what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Fighting for us

This is the second book in this series and it was amazing and I loved how they just new that where mates without any doubt but the Princess scanner’s are making it hard to trust there technology. Prince Darbnix and his brothers have come to earth to find there mates amongst the human females and with there scanners it will detect their perfect match but there has been issues with them when his brother Gardax one was hacked and so Darbnix isn’t sure he will use it because he wants to find his mate the old fashioned way. Enter Dr Rose Rand who is called to the Princes floating palace because his pet Watch-Lizard Slith had gotten into the storage room where the food is kept and eaten something that made him sick and straight away she pump’s his stomach and it isn’t long before he is feeling heaps better and the Prince is so happy and to thank the Dr Rand he asks her to stay for dinner and she agrees. They soon realise over there meal that they have so much in common and the attraction is off the charts and both find it hard to say good night to each other. Darbnix is attracted to Rose that he wants to see her again and calls the next morning asking if she wants to have breakfast with him. Rose tossed and turned all night after her encounter with the sexy Prince and hopes to see him again and then he calls to ask her to breakfast and she jumps at the chance to see him and his pet Slith who as it turns out he really likes her to. They start seeing each other and it isn’t long till his brothers call to tell him that another party is planned so they can find there mates but Darbnix knows within his heart that Rose is his mate but has never used the scanner on her because he is afraid that he might be wrong but he doubts it. The night of the party he meets Tia Teller and his scanner goes off telling everyone she is his matchmate but Darbnix knows she isn’t and when he looks at Rose she is devastated and leaves. Tia cannot be his real mate because Rose is and now Rose has been kidnapped and he must save her and after following Tia who has been acting strange to where Rose is being kept he finds out by listening in that his scanner been hacked by her with a necklace she wore. How does it all turn out and is Rose really his matchmate.

First, I have no idea why the title contains ‘mermaid’; there was no mermaid in the story. I couldn’t even draw a similarity between “The Little Mermaid” and the book (maybe it was symbolic?) because the heroine/princess does not lose her voice (or anything of hers) nor is she conned into relinquishing anything of hers (sort of how The Little Mermaid was). So with that said, here goes my second point.

Second, this book is an improvement on the first book. I felt that this book delved more into the plot (though still not much of a world builder) and developed the main characters a bit more. I enjoyed reading Prince Darbnix and Rose’s story, and while it had almost the same formula as the first book, there was more passion between them. I really felt how Darbnix and Rose were connected in more ways than just the physical attraction. You could feel her sense of confusion, heartache, and uncertainty. Darbnix was more relatable than his older brother, and maybe because he is more of a nature person, he comes across as more emotional. I was pleasantly surprised to see the lengths he was willing to go and the sacrifice he was willing to make to keep true to his heart. All in all it was a fun alien romance story, a much more steamy relationship than the first couple. If it weren’t for the ‘mermaid’ part, which left me feeling ripped off because I was waiting for the mermaid to appear, I would definitely have given a higher rating.

I enjoyed this story but kept waiting for the Mermaid to appear! I took away a star just for the incorrect title of the book. Prince Darbnix is the brother looking for his genetic perfect match this time but those stupid genetic scanners just aren't working again. Dr Rose Rand is a Veterinarian for Exo livestock or alien creatures. Darbnix's Watch Lizard needs emergency attention from a vet and
Dr Rand arrives and saves Slith, Darbnix's watch lizard, and sparks fly between Rose and Darbnix. They have a lot in common starting with their love of animals but they also get along really well and
don't want to be seperated when their visit together is over. Of course there is much confusion and tension with the scanner that is supposed to find the perfect match for Darbnix. We see the other six Prince brothers again and hope the next brother doesn't even try the stupid BIAS scanner! I did enjoy every minute that Rose and Darbnix were together, they were the perfect match, with or without the scanner.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book.

This is the second book in the series but can be listened to as a standalone. I listened to the first one, so I was already familiar with the world. I don't understand why it is called the Prince's Mermaid, there are no mermaids anywhere; so, the title is misleading. The characters were interesting and likeable, I could relate to the Prince's love for his pet. I liked this story too, however, the plot was very similar to the first one so it is missing some originality that the first one had. Plus I was looking forward to the mermaids. The author does a good job of developing these characters and wrapping things up nicely.

I thought the narrator did a good job on this seemingly repeat performance. I would have liked a little bit more voice differentiation between the characters; otherwise, I have no complaints.

I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Why there’s ‘mermaid’ in the title I don’t have a clue. They’re on the land and in the sky, no ocean/water. The only animals mentioned are farm ones and exotic extraterrestrials. Once passed that bit of confusion you find yourself reading pretty much a carbon copy of the last book. H & h met, like each other the bio scanner then picks out a different girl than the h to be the perfect match for the H. H gets ready to marry OW but her evil plan to mess with & trick the scanner is discovered just in time. h is then scanned and, wow what a surprise, is found to be the true match for the H. The end.

I have the next book in the series but think I’ll wait until I’ve forgotten the storyline of the first two books to read it...if I read it at all.

Coming into this book without having read Book 1, I was initially a little confused about who the characters were in the alien prince line, but luckily that was short lived. The author does a good job of reintroducing the characters and their importance to the story so you aren't guessing very long. Darbnix and Rose are likable and interesting. Slith, a pet lizard, is probably the most entertaining character in the book. Like many other reviewers have mentioned, the mermaid thing is confusing as there is no mermaid. It was enjoyable listen. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

OMG! This is the second book in the Trilyn Alien Fairy Tales. This is Darbnix and Rose's story. Darbnix, is the second oldest of the Trilynian Princes. Dr. Rose Rand is a veterinarian who specializes in exo-livestock. One day Darbnix called her to come check out his watch-lizard. They started to hang out with each other. Both loves exotic animals. They are very attracted to each other. I find that they are the perfect match but will the device say that too? You will HAVE to get this one to find out. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Keep up the great work!

This is the second book in the Trilyn Alien Fairy Tales Series and focuses on the second prince brother and the problems he faces to find his genetic match. Of course doubts for the BIAS scanner has been the main focus, due to the fact that it was sabotaged with his brothers match in the first book. We learn in this book if hackers are able to end the relationship before it even starts. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Misleading title

I gave this series a second chance, but like the first book, it was redundant. This book takes place 3 years later and no improvement in the scanners. Same situation, different names. No mermaid any where in the book and several times I had to go back and re-read sentences because there was no flow from one paragraph to the next. I will not be reading this series any further.

Sorry that this book deserves a 3 also

I’m tired of skipping pages avoiding all the steamy sex. This will probably be the last book I read from this author. It’s not just the sex scenes the characters turn into weaklings but their profiles are far from weak. Also having the exact same thing happen to the “devices” again? Highly advanced alien technology can be hacked so easily by humans? Nope!

Fantastic Book

Another great romantic alien love story that is just as great as the first one. It picks up from where the previous ones leaves off with enough action, drama to keep you on your toes, and steamy hot romance with awesome characters? A must buy and so ready to read the next book in the series.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Now it is time for Darbnix to find his compatible mate,
Rose did not expect to find love when caring for a sick pet.
I loved the storytelling + the characters.
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!

A misleading book title!

A great read
Although I'm still confused by the bok title! Spoiler alert! No mermaids!!!
However, I love the idea of the Princes needing to find their most compatible DNA match to continue their species! And have a gizmo for it. We all need one!!
Looking forward to the next prince to fall victim to the gizmos predictions instead of falling in love xxx

Not sure where the mermaid part was? This book was almost a repeat of book one. I feel like I skimmed to the good parts. I was hoping for more. It could have been more. There was one part where she put her feet in water and I thought "here we go, she will find out she is a mermaid", but no. So I just don't understand the title to the book. Done with this series.

This is intense as well. Although the technology is very interesting I think it's obvious that love and attraction are more reliable. The behavior and greed of the wannabe princess is shocking. The prince is definitely a catch, I like how he prefers the natural way to meet and marry. This was kind of similar to the first story though it was a joy to read.

mermaid?

I don’t understand the title. She’s not a mermaid and it had nothing to do with the ocean. Good book but kinda tired of the same story. They need a machine to tell if the woman they love is their match. Machine gets broken or hacked and the woman they love gets hurt. Then they fix the machine to realize their true love was their match all along.

Book two in the Trilyn Alien Fairy Tales series is a well-written book that I enjoyed reading from cover to cover. I will be looking for more books in this series. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Mermaid How?

Not sure where the Mermaid title comes from. Not even a hint of the Little Mermaid in this story. I just could not get into this book like I did the first in the series. Darbnix and Rose get their HEA but just not in a very interesting way.

I enjoyed the story but unsure why the title speaks of a mermaid. I didn't get the connection and hoping for a different focus in the next book. Maybe being closer to why the hacker is doing what they are doing.

Same plot as first....

Plus no mermaid?!?! I was looking forward to a retelling of The Little Mermaid fairy tale, but it’s not in this book. Decent story, decent characters, some weird grammar.

❤️ this series, and looking forward to reading the other brothers’ stories. The only part that I didn’t care for that was pushed too much was the blowing up part. You’ll just have to read the book to know what I’m referring to.

Not the best of series

This book is probably my least favorite of the current 3. The conflict could have been squashed early on had the hero not been so stubborn. But it was a nice enough ending. I cannot wait for book 4 of the series.

To human like

The alien characters in the series are just to human like. Except for skin color it sounds like they look like humans and they see him to think and even talk ike humans as well.

Weird title for this book

Weird title for this book. No Mermaids in this one. I liked this couple. They were good for each other. Ending seemed a bit rushed. But I was sort of glad. That meant they got their happy ending faster.

Crazy

I enjoyed the book but really didn’t understand the “Mermaid” reference. I loved this Prince and the fact that he found his perfect match first. He should have just scanned her first.
