Ik vind het heel goed dat Hanssen de tamelijk racistische elementen in Vasalis' poëzie bespreekt want dat doet verder vrijwel niemand, en sowieso is zijn poging om het etiket 'simpel en braaf' van haar gedichten af te krijgen fijn, maar soms ging zijn verhaal echt alle kanten op behalve die van de daadwerkelijke poëzie.
