A lonely boy fails to see the merits of city living, having just moved with this family from a rural environment. He stares out the windows and feels even lonelier. But when he goes outside at night and looks at the windows, he begins to feel as though he knows the residents and pieces together their stories. I’m a sucker for good illustration so I immediately wanted to read this book the minute I saw it. The style appeals to me so! Besides, I wanted to share this with my partner and our mole because one of our favorite things to do is to walk by buildings in the twilight and look into the people’s windows, imagining what happens inside, what their lives are like, and how we would act if we were to live there. Not a huge fan of rhythm books. That being said, this wasn’t half-bad. The story was engaging enough, the same with the illustrations.
