A sweet romance filled with that angst between two characters in which both have a common past that must be dealt with or their future is at stakes of being together...

Let me start off by saying that I have not read a Lauren Layne novel in such a long time. And to have this beauty in my hands was just so a blessing yet a risk I was willing to take. The reason being is the last book I read from Lauren's was not actually my cup of tea so I was very hesitant to dive into this one. The risk was

A sweet and delightful story, sure to leave a smile on your face!

Naomi Powell has come a long way in life- from the Bronx to Manhattan, from being homeless to becoming the CEO of a billion -dollar jewelry empire. But she has never forgotten her humble beginnings.

However, Naomi gets the shock of her life when her boyfriend dies in an accident and she discovers, by way of his obituary, that he was married. Not only that,

Thanks to Gallery Books for the early review copy!

This book was kind of my breaking point in wishing that romance books came with ratings because I was expecting angst and steamy scenes in this but there's only one fade-to-black scene. So from now on, I'm rating romance books in my reviews, and this is definitely rated G.

I enjoyed this book mainly because it was written better than a lot of romance books I've been reading. The writing was actually very nice and I never found myself caught up wi

If the kiss on Saturday had been the promise, this was the delivery. The sort of kiss that ruined a girl for all other kisses in the future.

I’ve been a fan of Lauren Layne’s writing for several years now. I haven’t always loved every story she’s written, but the ratio of her books that I love definitely outweigh the ones that I did not. ”PASSION ON PARK AVENUE” went at a very slow pace for almost the first half of the book. I was worried that this was going to

Lauren Layne's Passion on Park Avenue is the first book in her Central Park Pact series. It's the start of a fun trilogy about love, sex, friendship, and finding your way.

Naomi Powell has come a long way from her childhood, where her mother worked as a housekeeper in a prestigious building on the Upper East Side until one day she lost her job and they were forced out on the streets. Naomi is the CEO of a tremendously successful jewelry and accessories company she built herself, and she doesn

Since the day he’d met her, she’d gotten under his skin, pissed him off, confused the hell out of him, and he was damn grateful for it. Naomi Powell had brought him back to life...

The premise to this series is absolutely; three women realize they've been sleeping with the same man at his funeral, not realizing he's been married the entire time. There's two unknowing mistresses and the wife, who form a fascinating bond when they accidentally meet each other. I loved seeing th

I usually don't go for romance books that look like, well, this.

Contemporary romance isn't my thing, but even if it was, rich white lady problems don't really interest me. However, Passion on Park Avenue turned out to be a bit better than I was expecting.

I didn't like the cheesy set-up in the first few chapters, but it got better as it went along. I liked Naomi's shifting viewpoints on Oliver and his dad, and I loved the sexual tension, but I think she kept her secret for way, WAY too long. I

At the end I cried, not because the book was sad, but because it was so sweet!

As a reader, I adore love-hate romances, but this one swept me off my feet in a rare way.

What I loved the most was the total un-bastardy quality of the leading man, Oliver, the best male lead ever written. Usually with enemies-to-lovers story it’s easy to make the guy a bit gruff, or rudish at first (as a writer I’m guilty of that myself.) But not Oliver. He was kind, hot, sexy, witty, smart... He’s the kind of man th

Updated January 2021:

I liked this more the second time around! Still super cute, but I think going into it knowing how it ended let me connect to the characters more. Still sad that it's fade to black though 😂

This was super cute! My only issue was that I never really connected with the characters, and it made the ending seem kind of...abrupt? Yeah, I think that's the word I'm going with.

(If you're looking for a smutty romance, this definitely isn't it.)

I’ve read a number of Lauren Layne (LL) books somewhere between eighteen and twenty and there are a few things I’ve come to expect.  I always expect a thoroughly enjoyable story, an eventual HEA, a group of fun friends that are pretty hilarious and one or two steamy sex scenes.  Pas

Lauren Layne understands how to present a series. She draws you in and takes you on an adventure. Her use of New York City and its cultural views have always set the feel of what was to come. If the series is living in Manhattan then we know Layne will use it to be a major part of the tale. Because in my mind and my time living there...There is nothing like Manhattan! There is this energy which will become part of you and you will rem

Passion on Park Avenue is a fun, breezy romance about Naomi moving into the fancy apartment building she had once lived in during her youth and coming face-to-face with her childhood nemesis Oliver. He had tormented her when they were both children, but has now grown into a gorgeous, kind man.

The main conflict of this story is Naomi's grudge against Oliver for his younger transgressions and her wanting to show him that she's finally made it. Sure, Naomi's grudge is overblown and silly, and she c

I’ve read quite a few LL books and she never disappoints! I love her style of writing, her use of humor and snark and her ability to create fun, relatable characters that you like instantly. This is the first in a new series following a group of new friends living in NYC and I’m so excited to see where things are headed next.

From the first chapter I was hooked, Naomi meets two new potential friends in the most bizarre way, think the opposite of a romantic meet cute, except it is kind of cute. An

3.5 stars - Passion on Park Avenue is a quick and engaging read but I would definitely categorize it as women's fiction instead of romance. It made me feel nostalgic for my college years when I would devour books by Candace Bushnell, Sophie Kinsella and Plum Sykes. Our main character, Naomi, is a compelling self-starter who grew up in the Bronx, got a brief taste of life on the Upper East Side before being plunged back into poverty, and completely turned her life around by starting a successful ...more

Cute and fun with a touch of angst. Interesting premise and good use of the enemies-to-lovers trope. I liked Layne’s 21 Wall Street Series better, but this was still a quick, easy read that had you turning pages and escaping for a few hours.

I felt that Naomi's grudge was a little overblown (they were children when it happened, and I think blaming Oliver for everything was a little much). Still I enjoyed the tension it created between the two. We are introduced to two of Naomi friends who I assu

Passion on Park Avenue was fun and flirty! I absolutely adored the characters and I loved that this book had one of my favorite tropes ever, love to hate. It had a Sex and the City vibe and the way the story unfolded made it feel like a movie was playing in my head. With laugh out loud humor and moments that kept me smiling, this book was so easy to devour. So if you adore cute romance stories that also hold an emotional edge, definitely add this one to your tbr!

A new series from Lauren Layne about love stories in the city that never sleeps? Oh yeah, as you probably know I definitely got curious since I enjoy everything this woman writes! I am always excited when Lauren starts a new series and after reading this book, I can say I am surely ready for the other two books. I do have to say though, even though I loved this new crew of characters, I found myself a bit underwhelmed after

This was my first book by Lauren and it's the first book in the Central Park Pack series. I thought this book was a cute read. It's about Naomi Powell, who is CEO of one of the biggest jewelry companies in the country. She did not grow up like that though. She was raised in the Bronx. Now living in Manhattan, some still treat her as an "outsider"!
This book is about Naomi as a character, and her life and what has happened in her past that has made her who she is today! I loved

I was into this for most of the story. I liked Naomi and Oliver and I liked how they both had to overcome their backgrounds to be the people they are—and the people that could be so good together.

It drags a bit in the middle as the only thing really keeping Naomi from going with her attraction to Oliver is her memory of the boy he was when he was ten. Those memories can sting, so I get that. At the same time, nobody is who they were at ten and that's not so complicated to figure out as she kept

I received a copy of this title via NetGalley. It does not impact my review.

I’m a big fan of Lauren Layne and always look forward to her books. While Passion on Park Avenue was enjoyable, I have to admit I found it a little underwhelming.

I’m going to start with the things I liked:

-I loved Oliver. He was smart and sweet and loyal and I just adored him. I liked his dedication to his family, even though they had their issues. I liked the romance between him and Naomi, even if it was frustrating so

I have been a longtime fan of Lauren Layne since her Stiletto series years ago and am literally obsessed with everything she writes. She has a finger on the pulse of what people want and knows how to deliver. Her banter game is strong and one of my favorite things about her stories. Naomi and Oliver were so delicious. I loved their spitfire back and forth banter and the chemistry they had in spades.

I was immediately intrigued by the introduction Layne gave to this series with three women who ha

Refreshing, clean romance.
Sometimes it is so refreshing to read a fun, clean story that does not contain loads of drama and issues. I found this book to be a perfect story for a lazy afternoon.

A fast yet touching story that gave me all the feels we look for in a classic romance book. Layne crafted wonderfully complex characters that not only had a heart but reflected so much of what we have in our own lives. My heart broke a bit every time she helped Walter. Made me think about my

How freaking CUTE was this book!? Lauren Layne has yet to disappoint me with her fabulous contemporary romances, and Passion on Park Avenue, the first in her new Central Park Pact series, is no different. I had such a fun time with Naomi and Oliver, as well as the women Naomi makes a pact with: Claire and Audrey. The series centers around these three women who had a relationship with a man… unknowingly at the same time. I loved that they made the most of i

I liked some aspects of this story but for the most part, it just wasn’t clicking for me. I found the relationship the three women formed extremely awkward. I never got that feeling of bonding between them, it just felt odd to me. They'd make jokes about their connection and it felt incredibly stilted and fell flat.

I did like Naomi and Oliver but it was such a light, slow burn romance with nothing major happening that I never really felt their connection. I liked their interactions, they could
Passion on Park Avenue was a mixed bag for me. I did really enjoy parts, but other parts were annoying. Be warned, some of this review is kind of spoilery.

Loved Oliver! He was honest, sweet, and patient. My heart went out to him going from losing his mother to cancer to having his dad develop Alzheimer’s and being responsible for his care. On the other hand, I had issues with Naomi holding onto a grudge, especially when you consider Oliver was ten years old when the event happened. I mean come

Each of the books in the series CAN stand alone as they feature different characters however, I recommend reading this one FIRST as you get to know how these ladies became friends.
