Dad describes what’s going to happen during his haircut and Nana explains what she is doing as she cuts his hair so that Daniel feels more comfortable. Daniel discovers that getting your hair cut doesn’t hurt at all…sometimes it even tickles!

I love how this book emphasizes the importance of telling a child all the steps in what is going to happen before it happens to help children feel more comfortable with new experiences. I love how our society is getting more child-centered and more aware and sensitive to the needs of children and more willing to meet them.

Although I do not enjoy this series of books, I respect the value of them. This book deals with Daniel's uncertainty of getting his first haircut.
